Great starter game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 42 / 44

I bought this game as well as many others for my 6 year old. This game is terrific for a starter game. Dora doesn't "die". She can start again over and over without dropping back any levels. It really helps keep the frustration to a minimum when learning to maneuver the controls. She really loves this game and mom likes to play it too. The levels do get increasingly more difficult but not too hard for a young child until you get to the RainForest with "climbing vines". Mom tried at least a dozen times and could not successfully get Boots to jump and climb across all vines needed.

Great game for the younger players

I bought this game for my daughter as a Christmas present. Both of us absolutely love it. My daughter turned 4 in October and this game is easy enough to play that she is able to truly enjoy it. Out of the 3 games she received for Christmas, this is the only one she plays regularly.

As for me, I took the time to play it so that I understood the rules and how to play so that I could better explain it to her. Even in that trial game, I really enjoyed myself. When ever you make a mistake, instead of "dying" you simply go back to a specific place in the game that you have already passed. You never have to start all over again, no matter how many times you mess up. In addition, the game is set up by levels and after the completion of a level you receive a password so that you can resume play at a later time from the new level.

If you and your child enjoy watching Dora the Explorer, you will definately love this game. Just be advised, that older children may be disappointed as it is an easy game to play. I would recommend this for children 4-6.

I bought this game along with my children's first game system, a Gameboy Advance SP. Their ages are 3, 5, and 6. Each of them LOVES this game. Dora's character never dies, you just get set back slightly in the game which is perfect for starters.

The levels do get progressively harder which has kept my 6-year-old interested while my 3-year-old plays the first level over and over.

This is a wonderful game for any Dora fan. My 4 year old just loves it and can't seem to put it down for very long. I'm not sure what the problem is with the other reviews, but my daughter has no problem playing this game. It has made long car rides very enjoyable!

I got this game for my daughters 3rd birthday along with game boy advance. I am so happy, I chose this game, it is perfect for her age. I thought she would have problems with it b/c of her age, but she could play with it by herself. Dora never dies, that's a plus, b/c she never has to start over with the whole game. She plays it all the time. I recomend this game for every toddlers first video game.

Great Game for Younger Players

It is hard to find games for 4 year olds just learning how to use GBA. This is a great game for them - it is challenging, and at some points difficult - but like other reviewers have said you don't "die" so you just back up a bit to continue. My 4 1/2 year old got this alongwith 2 other games for Christmas and this is the only one she consistently plays. I wish there were more choices for the little little gamers.

My 2 and 4 year olds absolutely love this game. It has just enough skill to test them, yet is easy enough for them to not get frustrated. I cannot wait for the next Dora Game to be released.

Dora the Explorer The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure
by New Kid is a beautiful and wonderfully imaginative world alone is enough to make the game worth your while, but when you also factor in the game's moving story, memorable characters, and enjoyable puzzles, you get a superb gaming experience.

Polished and alluring, Dora the Explorer raises the bar for what gameboy advance games should be and stands as the first example of a gameboy advance game that we want to play again and again. Quite simply, Dora the Explorer is one of the best games of the year.

This is the only game my two beginners can play without getting frustrated. I ended up buying a second copy so they wouldn't fight over it.

Excellent Beginner Game!

This game is easy enough for a 3 year old, yet fun enough for even mom and dad. It is challenging for small kids, but not frustratingly so. Even though my 3 year old son was able to finish all the levels within 3 weeks, it continues to be his favorite game.
