Better than I expected...and very scary!

I have played several shooter and strategy games and this one ranks up there on the fun meter. Yeah, I'll admit that the graphics could be a little better, but the gameplay is fantastic. The alien wall crawl is really cool too. For those of you who are considering this game, it's as much fun as MoHAA and Jedi II outcast.

I own many games, many of these are FPS. What is odd about this game is that it is like a 3 in 1 package. You either play as an alien, predator or a marine. All sub-games are quite short.

The marine section is cool! You can get many weapons from the knife to the 'Minigun' which made its name in the fiml Predator. You also get a number of gadgets including an image intensifier (makes the surroundings brighter) and the smart spider mines (these follow a specific target, then detonate).

The predator part of the game is undoubtedly the best. The weapons and gadgets made available to you throughout the course of the first two or three levels alone is way enough to make short work of your enemies! The wristblades, a predator's primary weapon, are perfect for killing and then skinning your foes. The thermal imaging mode is just unbeatable.

The alien section allows you to take on the role of a xenomorph through its life cycle (from facehugger, to chestburster, to drone, etc...) You can wall walk, hang upside-down, rip yourself from the inside of a host and so on! I can't help but find this part of the game boring- and difficult! Nevertheless, I am fan of shooting monsters 'til my barrel glows red hot rather than playing a monster!

DOWNSIDES. There is a lack of storyline (its just kick butt action i.e. shoot first, ask questions later). If you are a fan of structured storylines, buy something like IGI. The game is well hard especially when you've got hundreds of aliens charging at you!

Expect plenty of bugs

I enjoyed the prequel to this game and went out on a 59$ limb to get this one. It took me several painfully long tries to get this game to install. It seemed to like to crash my computer. After a successful installation, I tried playing the game. The graphics were great, but the voice acting was ABOMINABLE! I realied more on the subtitles than the poor acting in this game. Anyway, the game was decent when it worked. AvP2 crashed my computer every 5 minutes. There were times when I could play for up to an hour before it crashed, but it always sent me to the blue screen of no return. In case you may be wondering, I meet or exceed the system requirments suggested by the manufacturer.
I finally beat the game and was met with a frustratingly anti-climactic ending sequence that left me feeling like I wasted my money on a broken game. It is possible that the game was defective, but I wasnt going to waste my time with it. I'm sure if you get a working or updated copy, you will be impressed with good graphics and gameplay. I still feel like playing as the alien.

This game is the best be a human, alien, or a predator. It is all there this game is almost 5 stars. The game locked up on my computer which has XP on it

This game kicks ass and is better than the original with the graphics, weapons and so on. AVP 2 is great for a scare. Buy cause the game is worth it and will kepp you playing for hours.

Predtor Campain

Ok! who ever wrote the predator campain out look has no idea what he/she is talking about. You must not understand what the predator dose, He hunts duh and what is he doing HUNTING, he is hunting someone and s trying to settle an old score try reading the story lines.

Great characters and action, not perect

Great action, but it gets a little repetitive. I loved the species, though, and since the game puts you right inside the action, it's definitely an adventure worth having. The animation is mostly great, though some of the movements made me wonder what the creators remember of Newton's Laws.

This game is absolutely terrifying. Holds true to the movies and a lot of love and care went into this game. I wish there was an add-on pack to this game- or better yet----make this into a movie!!!!

I love this game but it wasnt always that way i had a bad time with the bugs but the patches came out and its great this game rocks a must buy it should be bug free now but you must play this game its creepy

I would have rated it a perfect 5 if the game was a little longer. However, if you play all three species, the length is ok. I just expected the marine mission to last longer.

However, length aside, this IS one of the best games I've played. I can't believe you can actually be a face hugger.

AWESOME!
