Don't worry about the graphics, worry about the fun

Its great! When I read the Gamepro reviews, I was very dissapointed. I thought it would be great, and then the reviews said it was terrible. But when I played it at Best Buy, it couldn't get better. I said why were the reviews so bad?
Best Buy wasn't enough. I wanted more, so I went Blockbuster and rented it. You can do EVERYHING you see in both Matrix movies. To flying through the air, dodging bullets, blowing up walls, doing cartwheels why shooting, talking smack, and doing fastpased combat with Agents, even to driving one of those spider things, its a great game.
Sure you can't here the characters voices without turning the sound up loud, sure some the enviorents are boring looking, bland, wide, and empty, but that just means it gives you more room to kick all the bad guys butts. The character models are great. Although the enemys faces look even better then your own character's face, its still really, really fun. You can even hack into the Matrix, and drop weapons for yourself, or cheat in the hack menu.
A bad thing is that the enviorents you drive in, are really, really badly designed.
Great rental, although with cheats, you can beat it easily.
Great game, could've been better, but still a great game.

Good action game, just for the matrix

This is a relatively good action game. Nothing exceptional. The regular beat them up with bullet time. Too frequent loading time though! Recommend buying only if you are a major Matrix fan.

Pretty Good.

I don't have much to say about this game, but it is pretty short. The game is great while it lasted, but the game goes by very fast.

Now, for the people reviewing the title. They say that the games are shorter than "either" GTA. Since when are there only two Grand Theft Auto's? I hardly find anyone beside myself that has played every single GTA from the beginning. But it just goes to show you how people are.

Gun Limit?!?

I am about 60% through the game playing as Ghost, and though i have enjoyed the game, these are my complaints. Ammo/Weapon limitations?!? in the Matrix that really shouldn't happen! OK, i can see where having unlimited ammo/weapons would make the game lopsided, but there should at least be a pistol that always stays with you! Also, the loading in betweeen scenes is a bit excessive. Sometimes you will merely cross a room, enter a door, and thats the level...ta dah!!- the soundtrack is excellent, taking parts from Don Davis' orchestral pieces from the original AND Reloaded! And the "parallel play" as Ghost or Niobe is a nice touch to increase replay value. Although I haven't played as Niobe, i wish there weren't so many scenes that mirror Ghosts'. the focus fighting is a lot of fun, but the camera angle can be frustrating! i give the game a 8.5

Who are these characters? Do We Care?

First off, after reading a lot of the review below, I caught myself wondering if we were talking about the same game. Graphics? "Unbelievable??" - Either someone is pulling the consumer's chain or these reviewers have not played very many video games in their life. The graphics are sub-par. Mediocore at best. The level design is very average and bland with little to be real excited about. The character models are OK, but again, rather bland.

But the issue here is gameplay. While at times, the gameplay is fun (e.g. fighting agents or a couple bad guys at once) sometimes, the gameplay is just plain annoying. Mostly due to the very poor control setup. Using your weapons in the game (e.g. pistols, shotguns) is pretty much useless. Targeting barely works at all and it all feels very clunky and awkward. Most of the game I found myself fighting with my hands, just to avoid using the weapons.

The Story: "Who Cares?" That is the question. We are thrown into a story that is barely coherent to begin with and on top of that, we get to play as 2 characters that we don't know, and most importantly, don't like. I have no interest in playing with either of these characters. Not letting us play with Morpheus, Trinity or Neo is simply, a smack in the face.

Anyway, It's not all bad. Some levels are quite fun to play...beating up every guy you see and trying to pull off cool "bullet-time" moves on them. This, in my opinion, is the redeeming quality of the game and earns 2 of it's 3 stars. The other star is earned by the effort that went into putting the dvd quality cut scenes into the game and having the game work around those.

In summary, This can be a fun game at times, it can also be annoying. I suggest renting it to see if you're going to like it or not before shelling out the 50 bones for it. If you ask me, this game is nowhere near the ground breaking game it was hyped up to be. Oh so you have Bullet Time? Ever play Max Payne?

RENT BEFORE BUYING!!!

You will spend more time waiting on load times than you will playing. Graphics don't even compare to some of the other games out right now. Bad camera positioning is another thing. Really, really sad. Seems to me they just went ahead and rushed this game to get it out with the movie. Worth renting if you have a free credit at a Blockbuster. Other than that, leave it on the shelf.

like my title says, this game is good but it isnt the best. However, you should definately get it because it does pack a certain punch. Doing the kung fu moves is extremely cool, and the game does have the feel of a Matrix movie. If you're wondering I HAVE played this game.

awsome

this game is action packed with special screen shots designed by the ones(wachowskis). this game has you screaming for more just after one second of gameplay. this game allows you to play as gost or niobe(new characters in the movie). this game has some neat moves too. you can run up walls, and do backflips in order to kill an enemy. there are driving modes(my personal favorite). this is one awsome game.i like everything about it.

I've read a review about this game in Game Wanker Monthly and I just have to say it ROCKS! I haven't played it yet, but I did a good job of envisioning it in my MIND! That trick wall jump is sick!

So now, based on my very mental imagination, this game is clearly a 5. Oh, here's a rehash of what Wanker had to say: you can run, jump, kick, and drive. AWESOME!

Clearly I don't understand the difference between a review and a discussion forum. So please, leave a follow up comment so I can read what you think of my REAL Ultimate Power AWESOME review. I won't be able to respond to you because this AOL room only allows one message to be sent for some reason.

AWESOME! Buy it NOW!!!

PC doesn't even install

Well, I bought the game and it doesn't even install. Between each of the 3 install disks it comes up with an error that only disappears when you put disk 1 into the drive. So the sequence is disk 1, disk 2, disk 1, disk 3, disk 1, play disk. And then it comes up with another error, and after inserting disk 1 a final time the install seems to exit. And NOTHING is installed on the hard disk!

So much for yet another Infogrames game!
