this game is the dumbest game ever invented. neo isn't even present in the entire game, and in the alley scene, there are CARS that fight eachother. obviously the makers of atari were cracked out when they made this crap.

Flawed, But Amazing.

Overall, this game is perfect. It has only a few flaws in the design that are just a hinderance to the avid gamer. The in-game visuals are beautiful, with just a little bit of clipping issues. The CGI cut-scenes could be a little better, because some of them look absolutely awful, while others are great. One of the best features of the game are the live-action cut-scenes, because they were shot with the original cast (minus Gloria Foster, the Oracle, who died before the game was filmed. Her replacement is wonderful though.) on the film's sets. There is a good hour of these live-action cinematics, which can be accessed in the Hacking program.
The Hacking program is a very interesting concept, but very frustrating first hand. It is basically a 1980's DOS program, which involves a lot of typing (don't worry, because if you use it a lot the game will give you shortcuts). This includes a phone service to call characters, which then gives you more information to unlock special features for the game. Cheats, Videos, Conceptual Artowrk, and Character Profiles are among the unlockable extras. This is a great innovation, but it is difficult for people who are not interested in programming, or for those with ADD.
Enter The Matrix is a must-have for a die-hard Matrix or action game fan. The bullet-time tricks alone are probably the best feature in the game. From disarming an opponent, throwing them to the floor, and then using their own gun on them, to running along a wall with bullets spewing from an automatic weapon in bullet-time, the designers of the game have pulled it off.

This is the best game i have yet to play on the PS2. The best part of the matrix is running along the walls and flipping off. You should get this game if you really liked the movie and want to do the same cool moves neo does!

I only played it for about an hour and found out this game ROCKS. it has 500-600 moves per character more than a fighting game. You can go into slow motion ang DODGE BULLETS. If you like martial arts, shooting games then buy this game. All the websites only gave it like 3 out of 5 but there wrong, they mustve played a prototype or something because this game ROCKS (did i mention that allready?)

Unfortuently no one can be told how great this game is...

...you'll have to play it for yourself.
This game is a masterpiece. There are unlimited martial arts(and not only!)moves that you can perform, great, great, graphics, and a damn good storyine!
There are many technical flaws in the game as well, like you will see some enemies stuck on the air and things like that, but those can be forgotten easily by the superiority of this masterpiece.

One of the best games ever

Okay, there are plenty of bugs in this game: the screen is often too dark (just turn up your tv's brightness and pic settings); some times the audio goes into some weird echoey sound which makes it hard to understand, and there are quite a few bugs in the 3D layout (textures not appearing on their shapes), but when it comes down to it, the game play is phenomenal.

The short learning curve gets you executing amazing fight sequences in minutes, the driving is outstanding, and my favorite aspect: the playing the game a second time as the other character was equally enjoyable as playing the first time -- just be sure to increase the difficulty level. Have you hacked yet? Quick hint: use a sleeper hold and hit the left strife at the same time (you'll like it).

Rent but don't buy

I played this game and it was somewhat fun at first but after 5 minutes of playing it gets old! The game is very bland and repetitive and the hand-to-hand combat looks a little cool but it also requires no skill and not much interactions. just to much money was spend in licensing and not enought spent on gameplay!!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!!!

ok. well i got this game a few days ago and when i first played it i was like " THIS GAME IS THE BEST " but shortly after that i changed my mind. don't get me wrong focus mode was awsome being able to dodge bullets and jump real far. the fighting is cool at first but after a while it gets real boaring. you get a pretty good selection of wepons which is cool especially when you kick a guy and shoot him in the air, but some times when you shoot some one your gun will be aimed at the ground and you'll be shooting some one on a balcony or some thing which really isn't a flaw but it just looks stupid. also the graphics on the game are horrible, the people are so etchy, but the levels look good but not great at least they are better than the people ;). ok it says mild language on the box but there is more than "mild" language belive be. and the game is really easy to beat, i beat it in 3 1/2 hours, and the last level is soooo easy they should of done better on that.but there are cheats you can get like invincibility, infinite ammo, infinity focus, sword, and multi player which even though they don't tell you on the box that there's multiplayer, using a cheat you can get it.also the one i got was defective, and i know other people who's were defective too. now it's time for the pro's and cons.

PROS
>good weapon selection
>cool how they mix real movie w/ game graphics
>focus mode
>hacking
>multiplayer
>cheats

CONS
>bad graphics
>too easy
>too quick
>battling gets repetitive
>boring car levels
>too dark
>can't hear too well

Well i hope this was helpful and i'd wait till this goes down in price to the [$$$] or [$$$] so i'll give it two and a half stars.
thanx for reading

I really, really wanted to like this game. I'm a Matrix freak; I love the movies and the amazing story and fight scenes that go along with them. Unfortunately, Enter the Matrix left me slightly underwhelmed with its glitchy gameplay, horrendous camera and bland texturing. So why, you ask, did it get four stars if it is so bad? Well, the bottom line is...Enter the Matrix is a fun game. The camera may prevent players from seeing every awesome bullet-time move they pull off, but the first time I ran up the side of a wall and punted an enemy's head like it was a football, or did a one-handed flip off of the floor, using my other arm to fire an automatic shotgun, I smiled and said, "That is so frickin' COOL!" And it is. Something unexplainable about Enter the Matrix's gameplay is addicting. It sucks you in and you can't stop playing until you've beaten it...with both characters. The separate characters' missions offer a good variety of action, but both the driving and shooting missions are a bore, with awful graphics and bland gameplay. But the real reason that players will enjoy this game is because of the fantastically fun on-foot sections, and the story tie-ins with the movie. The inclusion of extra footage not seen in the movie is a bonus, and there's even a short trailer for the upcoming Matrix Revolutions (I hope November gets here fast!!). Also, the innovative Hacking Minigame/cheat system provides a couple of extra hours of entertainment. My final verdict is--this is a fun, but ultimately flawed game. Matrix fanatics should buy it, but casual gamers should just rent. Either way, it's an enjoyable diversion.
