Make Sure You Play This. . .

I picked Fatal Frame up from my video store because I had already played most of the games there and the new releases like Silent Hill 3, were out. So I was looking for something new and the cover to Fatal Frame caught my eye. It is based on a true story and set in Japan. You play as Miku, a girl in search of her brother who went missing in the Himuro Mansion. Armed only with a camera, Miku sets through the mansion in search of her brother. There are diffrent chapters to play throughout the game and each chapter has a mission. Throughout these chapters you have to fight ghosts. You ward them off by taking thier pictures. Sometimes they jump out at you, sometimes you know they are there. Either way, the ghost and the sounds in the room, scare the hell out of you. I cant even play the game without the lights on. For anyone of you who love to be scared out of your wits, this is a game you seriously want to play. The graphics are wonderful and the sounds and eerie music playing throughout just adds to the scary atmosphere of the game.

Best horror game period.

If you consider yourself a survival horror game fan, this is a must have. There is only one flaw, that is moving the character. The weapon control is so so, but the more you play with it the more fun you will have with it. This should appeal to people who enjoy role playing games and horror fans alike. Even if you are neither the game is still fun and deserves to be played. But the atmosphere of the game itself is the creepiest I have every seen. It definitley puts Resident Evil to shame, and even the Silent Hill series pales in comparison. There is a reason almost everyone has given this game 5 out of 5 stars. Plus, this game has replay value. The mansion is small enough not to be annoying.

I think this is a great survival horror game. If you love having the crap scared out of you then this game is for you. It has a great story that follows up on a true story. The graphics are extremely well done and the style is excellent. The design actually looks like a japanese setting throughout the whole way.

It gets really annoying trying to fight off powerful spirits with type-14 film but you earn stronger film later in the game. You should know how to conserve your film as well. Let your charge build up before you take the picture to do more damage. Also, try to take the picture when the lens turns orange. Doing this will get them to back away and spend a few seconds trying to recover giving you a little bit o time to prepare. Use spirits stone when needed only. They are limited so be wise. The characters are meant to be in Japanese, but the 0 is at the top going counterclockwise.

All in all I think the game is great to play in the dark with your friends or on your own. The game also requires fast reflexes because ghosts have a tendency to just pop up in front of you. The ending is great on PS2, and there is a different ending when you beat the game on XBox. Try them both if you can. So I can definantly recommend this game to any survival horror fan.

Fatal Frame is a great game for anyone who loves a good scare. If you've played Resident Evil, the screen has the same fix position feature. The setting is very dark and just walking around can be scary. Screams and strange noises add to the suspense as ghosts appear out of nowhere. You need quick reflexes to catch these ghosts with your camera, and the controls can be a little annoying as you have an extremely limited amount of movement when in camera mode. This game is great when friends are over and you want to give them a little scare. Also, there's an interesting scene when you pause the game for a while and leave it alone. I personaly am too freaked out to finish it, definitly worth every penny!

The scariest game I've played

Wow. That's all I have to say about this game. It is truly the scariest game ever (I haven't played Fatal Frame 2 though, so maybe that's not true). The atmosphere and sound effects really creep you out. Sometimes it even gets to the point that you don't want to go any further because you know something is going to happen that will make you jump out of your socks. The battle mode is ingenious; it is both easy and effective. The cut-scenes are done with mastery. All around, a must have game.

wow, is this game scary. creepy atmospheres and good vioce acting. Short. Bad camera. Graphics are a little dated and cartoony. The story is very eerie and scary. Gameplay is a little odd, shooting ghosts with a camera. it is very fun.

This game is probably one of the scariest games out there! But I love it because it's so intense every time you play! Once you start, it's hard to stop playing. My mom always gets angry at me whenever I play it for too long. Haha! Even though it's only a one player game, it's always fun to watch it! It's like a scary movie that you can't escape from! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! You never know what could happen the first time you play it. And even the second or third time you play, it never gets old!

Definitely a game to play over and over again - spooky atmosphere, steeped in history and urban legends, it makes for a really entertaining and spooky game without having to be a gory shooter. Best game I've completed and I have fun going back to it.

one of the best.

Resident Evil, Silent Hill, ClockTower, I have played and love all of these games. Silent Hill being my favorite hands down. FATAL FRAME... i only recently began to play. This game will scare your to death. The first night played this was the time I have reserved for movies and games of this nature. About midnight or 1am with no lights on and Sound as up as possible. Couldnt do, the third time, i had to play in the day. with the sound up. i did have the blinds closed. but just couldnt play this game late at night. Something to do with the hallway and closet in my house...

pick up this you wont be dissapointed.

So Scary, I Almost Couldn't Finish It!!!

Trust me, I rarely get scared by games or pretty much anything. But after playing just five minutes into Fatal Frame, my hands were shaking.

Warning! This game doesn't show any mercy! With chilling sound effects, and disturbing bg music, you control a teenage girl who wanders practically helpless throughout an old Japanese mansion, battling some of the most disturbing ghosts I've ever seen.
What keeps you scared is the fact that the game never seems to give you a break. There's no place in the mansion that's truly safe. And you're getting constantly chased by the woman in the white kimono. And it gets worse as you progress through the game and learn about the truth behind the curse.
There's puzzles and riddles to make it challenging for you as well as the ghosts that keep popping up out of nowhere. Even creepier is when you learn about the stories of the victims who fell to the mansion's deadly curse.
As the title of the review states, I almost didn't finish this game because I was just too exhausted from jumping all the time when something bad happened. And my heart was hammering a lot.
It's psychological J-horror at its best, that will keep you wanting to play, but too scared to play.
Playing the game in a dark room all alone will offer the best scare effect. It scared me to keep the lights on when I went to sleep.
For fans of horror, this is definitely a must-buy!
