One thing to say,the camera problem in this game is so bad you cant play.this game could have been good.It was hard for me to give it 1 star. Also this seems to be one of those games where you collect items to open, doors ect...to accomplish your goal,or mission,The game play seems to stealth like as your weapon is on a targeting system allowing for awesome gameplay(this feature makes me want to keep playing),plaese fellow gamers this is a rent 1st buy later.

I bought this game with Turok. Sorry to say, but I wasted my time and money on two very terrible games. The graphics on Headhunter will make you glance at your unit to make sure you are playing it on the PS2 and NOT the PS1. The gameplay is difficult and sometimes fun, but it is just not worth the 45 dollars wasted on it. Rent it first. That is my suggestion. You will be glad that you did. I cannot believe that so far since PS2 has been out, there have been only a few worthy games: MGS2, GTA3, and possibly a FEW sports games. To think that PS3 is due to come out in 2005 when PS2 has YET to make a decent game library to date. Headhunter was just a clone of Winback and MAYBE some aspects of MGS2. This game needs work, the main character needs some more target practice as he is a terrible shot. Like I said... RENT the game, don't buy it. I am returning Headhunter AND Turok:Evolution back to the store I bought them from and HOPEFULLY I will get lucky and find a DECENT PS2 game, but I doubt it.

Good graphics (and thats about it)

All games like this will be compared to Grand Theft Auto 3, a big city environment in which you can explore and in the meantime, advance the story.

This does not measure up in the least. I'll start with the good.

There is a stab at the story. The in-between movies appear to make a good effort at advancing the story (other than the fact that the mystery as to who's behind it isn't much of a mystery). The animation is pretty well done. Also the news shorts at the beginning and in-between are great. They make a great attempt at bringing the world to life.

The graphics are great and I like the fact that you can enter buildings and shoot up the place.

I like the idea of riding on a motorcyle through the city, something that should be incorporated into GTA: Vice City.

That's about it. And now the bad news.

The load times between scenes and locales is waaaaaaaaaaay too long for my tastes. There's a lot of waiting.

The objects you're supposed to get aren't always easy to spot and I felt like there wasn't a lot of gamer testing for this. This frustrated me quite a bit.

The skill points you're supposed to "earn" in-between licenses seem stupidly earned. Drive fast and not crash. Huh? Seems like more of an afterthought than a requirement.

There's a lot of convoluted puzzle-solving that certainly makes the game more frustrating because it doesn't seem like the gamer testing was used on this either. Or if it was, it was ignored.

When you're riding through the city, where are the people? Also, you can't dismount and walk the sidewalks except in certain spots. Very limited.

Rent if you must, but do NOT buy.

Difference between Dreamcast version?

They should of waited for the sequel. The nearly identical game was out months ago for Dreamcast. It's no Max Payne, that's for sure.

Disappointment

This game will seem to be the worst ever for all those who enjoyed Metal Gear Solid and maybe the Syphon Filter series. It pretends to be a stealth game; but it is certainly not. Besides , there are huge control and camera issues. Don't buy it, just rent it so can realize by yourselves how bad the gameplay is.

not that good

headhunter is a very challenging game and not very fun, it is a waste of money, don't buy it!

Not bad

it wasn't bad, up until I played the level with the mechanical spiders. Then it's just impossible. This game goes from somewhat challenging to stupidly impossible in about an hour and a half of play time. Good luck if you buy it, I can't beat it. Rent it first and be prepared to crash allot on the motorcycle.

HeadHunter: A bit too much like MGS2:SoL

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 3 / 4

HeadHunter's storyline is quite original, although hard to follow at points. The character portrayal is solid, as are the controls. But be warned: This game is like a cross between Metal Gear Solid 2 (stealth aspect + radar + VR missions), Winback (stick to wall corner shot + pistol has infinite ammo), and Resident Evil (item and menu system). But even with all the rip-offs, its story makes up for a good game.

This game also has a lot of CG sequences, a quality not found in too many shooters these days. The length is a solid 10+ hours, and makes for a good rental. Recommended for 3rd Person shooter fans who don't mind a little bit of stealth neck-breakin'. Not recommended for die hard MGS2 fans (you'll think it's the world's biggest rip-off). But still, it's a whole heck of a lot better than Winback!!
