This game is extremely fun. I am sick and tired of people playing for a week or something, getting discouraged and saying the game...wasn't any good... However it is an understatement to say the game is an average game. It is highly addictive and pulls you in, probably with a replay value of 10 of 10. ...

OK....But, You had better read This!!

The idea of the size of the game is very cool. The Gameplay is ok, but Verant stopped there. The user interface is not very well put together, not user friendly. The ability to navigate around the interface is somewhat difficult and I have played a lot of RPG's. It is your call, but I would save my money.

EQ

I don't know if I could explain this game in under 1000 words... Over hundreds of patches, Sony and Verant have perfected the system in this game (though casters will always be overpowerful). For 3 years I played a Monk in this game of the reptilian race called the iksar. They regenerate faster than other races and start the game with the skill of 100 in swimming. For skills in EQ, you can pretty much do anything: fish, pottery, blacksmith, brewing and even jewelry. You are called a master when the skill reaches 100, though you can max it out at 250. My monk was a tailorer/brewer (nasty combonation i know.)

As for how big the world is, i played for 3 years and explored 2 full continents and barely touched on the other 3 and then Luclin came out and added an entire new world which you could teleport to. In my mind you will never go to every place in this game. Even if you had enough time, there are factions you have to gain before most city guards will let you in. The reptilians were hated in almost every city so they pretty much stuck to their own continent until mid-level. You typically have to kill 1000 enemies of a city for them to let you in, so I went out and slaughtered little orc encampments everywhere. It was easy because they are about lvl 8 and I was level 44 so 4 hits and a spin kick later, I had human faction.

If this was confusing, this is barely touching on EQ, but you'll get it all down within a week and then it gets all the more fun. As for some advice to start playin, make a caster as your first character, it makes everything go faster. I was the only true fighter where I live and I had 3 caster friends that were the same level as me, but had over 10 times as much money as I did and that is no exagerration.

About the other expansions, you would only really need the EQ trilogy and the Shadows of Luclin Expansion. The Planes of Power Pack doesn't really do anything BIG for you until you hit upper level.

And make sure you have something to do while waitin for boats... They go pretty slow and you generally can wait up to 15 minutes for the boat to arrive and most trips take 10-12 minutes and can pass through 2 different loading zones on the way so make sure you get off at the right one. First day I played I made that mistake and got off on an island with nothing but undead and they all were 20 levels above me... didn't go to well.

This is a awesome game, ...
...
Graphics:Depends how high you set them, nice eye candy in general though.

Gameplay: Awesome. Nothing beats online games, and the items and magic is really cool, not to mention all the cool races and Classes.

Story: Best part of the game, there is no story. this is a real role playing game. This is what they are supposed to be like. You play a role, get creative, make up quests to go on. Make a personality for yourself. You can be a greedy human jeweler, a sly elf theif, a barbarian mercenary who only joins groups for money, the possibilities are unlimited.

Control: Its an rpg, the controls are always simple.

The only thing that is a miniscule wrong with this game, is that you have to pay ten dollars a month. For some people, that aint bad, but for some it is. Also, this can be solved if you ask your family and friends to get you a few prepaid cards that worth about 3-6 months. (Birthday, Christmas, etc.) Also, it takes a little time for each zone to load.

Everquest is just a well thought out game. People complain about the difficulty of soloing--omfg--its a massive multiplayer game, if you pay to be with thousands of other people why would you want to solo. Go play final fantasy or something if your some 11 year old kid who hasnt learned social interaction. Grouping is the core of EQ, how fun would it be if you could go kill a dragon in 2 hits by your self. And people complaining about the lvles being to long - I gained a lvl atleast every 6 or 7 hours untill about lvl 38. All the spells and abilities are balanced between the classes in a way no game b4 EQ really did as well. Anyway this game isnt for everyone, but it is for most people, i mean i like counter-strike and ghost recon so even if you play fast action games EQ will still be fun for you.

EVERQUEST BIGGEST GAME EVER!!!

Have you been searching for years now looking for the perfect videogame that grows and adapts and gets better? Do you feel like all the games you've bought wouldn't add up to that game, and that you would sell them just for the perfect one?

Well then this one's your game, and if you follow the rules and pay just 12 dollars or so a month you get this awesome game. This game is like none ever thought of before, ok final fantasy and lord of the rings kinda remind you of it in some weird ways, but that's not it.

The game requirements are high, but you won't regret it and you should really get this trilogy from Amazon because of the cool deal their giving you, and not to mention me because I bought my game from them.

Now it is true that this game can totally drain your life away and become very addicting, but only if your someone who doesn't have a life and doesn't see the fine line between Everquest and your life. And if you've laughed at the review about how it drains your life away then please understand.

Everquest is a game that is fully interactive and the things you do cause series of events in the game, such as Durn STonebringer who found an ancient artifact called the armor of Innoruk and although Ebita now has the armor and took it away from Durn, he had already desimated Norath, on the Rodcet Nife server that is.

Now Durn was incredibly stratigic he had literally an army of ogres behind him and using that army he killed and raided everything in his path. We also had to go on a quest and to the Luclid moon and break a spell to kill Dern.

We still have no idea where Dern got the armor or if it's the same on other servers, but their are hundreds and hundreds of artifacts most of which we'll never even see. Oh, yeah I'm an erudite by the way. An erudite level 60 magician, who is well kind of secretive.

Well that's enough of that and well do you know that this game has over 2000 players on it at any given time, and that you can sail on boats to distant lands and setup a trade shop and work on a trade skill and have your own private business, I'm a jeweler myself. I make magical rings in a town, I won't say which one becuase i'm very paranoid since my village was destroyed by Dern.

I'm on my way to visit Ebita and the armor which Ebita is in possession of. I've also been researching which is one of the things that is truly unique to Everquest, which is only one more reason to just buy this trilogy from Amazon right now.

I don't have the Luclid exspansion, but I hear good things about it, unfortunately half my Erudite guild is training on Luclid. Their trying to meditate to a higher being or gain power I don't know, but I've been researching a map for sometime now about an ancient artifact of possibly more power than the Armor of Innorauk, but ancient elven is a hard language to learn and they rant like idiots so it will be some time before I decipher it's writings.

Oh, well see you on the Rodcet Nife server, if you dare.
