The Best Game Since "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"

It may seem a bit offbeat at first. Final Fantasy meets disney? What were they thinking? Well the genius behind this stunning RPG certainly wasted no expense to make it fun, creative, intruiguing, and extraordinary. Not from the very first level is this a normal game by any respect. The wonderful graphics and easy gameplay draw you right into the plot from the first trip to the island. An array of worlds from the Jungle of Tarzan to the Clock Tower from Peter Pan, the brilliant landscapes make the game a work of art. The cut-scenes are so smooth that you mistake the game for a movie, all in all the plot presentation is fluent and very followable. The real-time fighting sequences take out the monotony of a normal RPG and instead leave you scrambling around enemies and slashing them with your personal weapon, the keyblade.

I won't spoil the plot for newcomers, but the depth of the game creates an experience rivaled only by the aformentioned Zelda game. At around a 30 hour completion time, this game isn't one you can finish and throw away in a few days, unless you get obsessed beyond control (which can happen with a game of this caliber). Everything from challenging bosses to secret switches make the game fun and exciting, even hard at times. The ease with which you can zap an enemy with lightning or cure yourself when you are low on health makes the battle a great part of the game. Always backed up by your companions, Donald Duck and Goofy, the trio encounter everything from spiders in pots to giant evil dragons, including the guardian of the underworld, Cerebrus. The game is a heartbreaking search and a giant discovery twisted amongst all the worlds of their universe. Never before have I played so rich a game as this one. You can buy something else, but don't you want more out of a game than high scores and shooting people? An epic quest is just plain better than a secret agent anyday.

More than I expected!

Okay, well, I'm not a great review writer, but I'm a 15-year old long-time gamer, so here goes nothing...
Honestly, when I first heard about this game, yes, I did want it, but I was expecting something... Well... Stupid and cute. After all, it was a Disney game, nothing too spectacular.

And again, honestly, when I actually started playing the game, I was blown away. First thing that hit me was the amazing graphics. Very bright, vivid, and just really amazing. The music is great too. The background fits the areas where you are, and doesn't get annoying, like in many games. The theme song (the English version of "Simple and Clean" bye Hikaru Utada) has always been one of my favorite songs, so I was happily surprised to hear it playing during the intro, which was also amazing, and seemed to fit the song well.

The voices sound accurate to characters that have appeared before (Disney and such, I haven't played Final Fantasy yet), and the battling isn't boringly easy, or horribly difficult.

Well...I guess I could go on about everything I love about it, but that'd be a waste of your time. All I can say is that this game is excellent, and it's worth the money to buy it. Kingdom Hearts 2 is supposed to be coming out in Japan, so I'd recommend buying it before it's out in English, lol.

This game is one of my favorite games of all! the graphics are great, the voices are the best, and the storyline is very interesting. The battle system is also very cool and one of my favorite things to do is fight in the coliseum. The only thing that bothers me is that you can't take the disney characters with you which really sucks. Another problem is you can only have three people in your party so if you want one of the disney characters in your party you have to take either Donald or Goofy out of your party so you can't get experience with both of them all the time, but other than that there is nothing wrong with it. I love this game and I think you should buy it

You'll be hooked forever!

Right when I first saw this game on TV i knew I had to own it! (Just between you and me I think the game's theme song, "Simple and Clean", has subliminal messages in it so that you want to play the game.) True it is a long game...but it is worth it! The final battle and movie is something not to be missed! Even thought this game has been out for a year and I've beaten it 9 months ago...I still love. I am excited to see Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the GBA and Kingdom Hearts 2 for the PS2. And of course you can't play the second game without playing the first. So this game is a must buy!

I could write the same great things everyone else wrote, but I'd rather save your time. This game is amazing and enchanting. Some parts are challenging (such as Ariel's land...rrr) but the graphics, voice acting and imagination involved in this game will astound you, as they did me. Some parts will definitely need a strategy guide (or online help) but the ending and surprises Square has in store are well worth the frustration. I have played it twice already and haven't grown sick of it yet. By far my favorite PS2 game so far.

Who would have thought that Disney and Final Fantasy would make a perfect match

Kingdom Hearts is a wonderful RPG(role playing game)that has the most odd mix of charactors. You play as Sora a boy who is in search for his friends and has to save the world with the help of Goofy and Donald.Yes Goofy and Donald Disney charactores that can kick butt and help you with your quest.Get ready to explore and save your favorite disney worlds form the darkness.
Stunning graphics,a wonderful storyline, great voiceovers,a cast of charactors that are loveable and a battle system that is easy to use makes this game a must have for all RPG fans and anyone who loves a great story.

I owned this game when it originally came out, and it was such an epic masterpiece then. A few years later, I decided to re-purchase the game after I (regretably) gave it to my friend. I forgot how much fun this game was. It was just as much fun playing it now as it was then, and it was worth every cent - especially since Kingdom Hearts II is now on the market. Definately pick up a copy if you have never played it before or no longer have a copy. Oh, and to anyone who thinks that this game is for small children - you are entirely wrong. The storyline is really deep when paired with the sequel, and it is touching to people of all ages. Overall, it's a blasty blast. ^_^

This is a fun, cute game that offers many hours of enjoyable play. The basic premise of the game is the standard stuff... the world is coming to an end, bad people have taken the girl, and YOU are the chosen one who has the "Gift" to make it all better. See pretty standard stuff.

However, there is some non-standard stuff here too! First of all, the game is fun. Sure it is cheesy and it was (mostly) made for 12 year olds but it is still playable. Second. the blend of Disney characters adds a nice touch and helps to keep you from getting bored. This is one of the few games that succeeds in making you believe that you are watching a movie. Finally, the game has that "addictive" factor and you will find yourself up way past your bedtime!.

Cons-
1- The camera angles can be horrible. This is the only reason for "4" stars instead of "5". There are times when accomplishing certain tasks is more about figuring out how to get the camera angle right than the actual task.

2- It seems like if you didn't have the $15 manual you may be lost. Some of the items you need are a little hard to find, and without the manual you may be out of luck!

All-in-all I would recommend this game. Think of it as Dark Cloud with Donald Duck and Goofy! There is some frustration involved, especially when you are trying to figure out how to get the cameras to work in your favor, but it is still worth the $20!
