A New Era

Let me first start off by saying this game will be superb, I thought it was impossible for Hideo Kojima to improve on the last Metal Gear Solid Game but it looks like his done it again.I recently downloaded all the trailers at the moment for Snake Eater and it looks amazing, the graphics the gameplay everything. Also it looks like there are a few big changes like the hand to hand combat, no more Radar system ! (because your in a jungle) and Rations dont seem to exist anymore, you hunt for your own food, likefish and guess what SNAKE. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Not as good as I expected

Sorry to burst everyones bubble but this game is not that good. Thats from a huge fan of the Metal Gear series. I have been playing since the first Metal Gear on NES. This game is just not as good as Metal Gear 2. The camera angles are horrible. There is no map to track where your enemies are so there is basically no way to tell how close you are to you enemy until you are right up on them. Then its to late and you are getting riddled with bullets. The aiming system also sucks. The game takes place in the 60s so there is no infra-red beam like Metal Gear 2. So there is no way to know who you are aiming for unless you are in 1st person mode and by the time you get that going you have again been riddled with bullets. The graphics are great. The story seems to be unfolding nicely and the cut scenes are beautiful. But the poor and I mean very poor camera angles and aiming system just frustrates you to the point where you dont want to play anymore. I bought this game today and I have already stopped playing. I was very disappointed. I think I will play Metal Gear 2 again and let Metal Gear 3 collect dust.

ok dudes so you know it comes out late 2004 to early 2005 so for you dumbass's has konami ever released a game 1 year after makeing its previous version.......nooooo. and it is Big Boss Snakes Father but so you know they are the exact same except in the mind because Big Boss gets killed by snake for messing with metal gear so does grayfox. Gray fox is 38 so I dont think he will be in it but I dont know he might be a clone to. This is going to be awesome, I mean playing as the Greatest soldier ever born even though snake won he is a clone of the big man. Its just the name that confuses me..... I mean I read the story of metal gear and it never says that Big Boss code name was snake hmmmmmm o well we will just have to see. Buy this game dudes cuz its gonna fly off the shelfs and Ps3 Comeing out 2006 WOO WOOO!!!

I don't think that adult humor should be taken out of the game, nor do I think that age has much to do with said storyline. He's 12, has a conscience and (apperently) no testostorone. It also has something to do with the mental state of mind then the age of the person. I'm 15 love Sephen King and Tom Clancy, and I Loved this game. If you can understand and appreciate the concept, story, and ..perks.. of the the game, then by all means get and enjoy. But if not, don't get it, and don't complain about it.

I have been a fan of the metal gear world since the NES days. That being said Snake Eater is a bit different compared to everything that came before it. It is also built with the very Japanese way of playing in mind, which means collection. You collect animals and plants to keep you fit and healthy, you collect camouflage patterns to help you hide. There is nothing wrong with this of course, it is just best to know before you buy that large portions of the game revolve around this.

The story is fantastic, its not as far fetched as MGS2, and it has a real gritty 70s feel to it, without being too over the top. Playing through for the story itself is worth wild. The enemies are classic MGS, but some of the best in the series. Some of the boss fights, the End for example, are pure genius. It really shows how you can push game design when so many people are just worried about graphics.

The game play can be frustrating at times, even on easy, until you find the right way to go about things. Every boss has some sort of weakness or strategy that works and once you find it you are generally fine. The weapons and equipment are great. They do very well in capturing the era and setting the game is trying to capture.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is pure MGS, without being a carbon copy of the previous installments. You will feel comfortable right of the start if you are a veteran of the series and even if new the learning curb isn't too steep.

great cinematics, really bad angles....

im gonna have to go against all mgs fans....the games very frustating...while the graphics and storyline are really great ,,its a very difficult game...while the object of the game is to stay invicible to the eye of the enemy,,i had to drag myself thru the whole game, cause as soon as i got on my knees, i was spotted....i think the a.i was overdone,,i know its important in games, but this is ridiculous...not to the point of draging my a## thru the whole stages....the camouflage doesn't work to well either....the angles are really really terrible...enemies come from all over the place yes 360 degrees...sometimes youre laying down and you dont have time to even turn around , and once you do its all over ( spotted!!)enemies are really hard to grab as well....to me this is a dissapointment ,,and for sure nothing compare to sons of liberty......dont waste your money on this puppy, just rent if anything.....

Metal Gear Solid: Big Boss!!!

This game is going to be the most awesome game in the series so far. The game takes place in the 1960's during the cold war and if you've seen the e3 previews you see that Snake has a patch on his eye in some of the scenes. If I remember correctly Big Boss, the greatest soldier of the century, who ends up cloning himself three times (Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, and Solidus Snake), is the guy who wore the patch over his eye. Which means that you will probably not be playing as Solid Snake but the Legendary Big Boss. This game is going to be awesome!!!
