I'M A HUGE LOTR FAN (I STILL GET COLD CHILLS DURING THE TV ADDS FOR THE MOVIES...NUFF SAID)BUT I WAS NOT BLOWN AWAY BY THIS GAME.YES THE GRAPHICS ARE COOL AND SOME OF THE GAME PLAY IS,BUT TO MANY GLITCHES.YES I DID OVER LOOK THEM AS A TRUE FAN WOULD BUT WHEN YOU PAY [money]FOR A GAME YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE TO PLAY IT NOT BE LOOKING AT THE CAVE WALLS OR TREE TRUNKS WHILE YOU'RE BEING BLASTED.I STARTED PLAYING THIS GAME ONE MORNING AND FINISHED IT THAT AFTERNOON IT WAS TO EASY AND SHORT.....OH YEAH THIS GAME HAS NO SERIOUS REPLAY VALUE AT ALL.......

Waste of a good title

I've played many different Lord of the Rings based computer games over the years and this one is really disappointing. The graphics of the game are quite good, the story isn't bad, but there is something lacking. If I had to say where the game went wrong I'd have to say that it was to fast. Also, the AI is very poor, you can sit and shoot monsters with your rocks (Frodo), arrows(Aragorn), or spells (Gandalf) from a distance and they will stand there without moving until they die. If you want a real LOTR game go and find a copy of Interplay's LOTR and the Two Towers (see if you are strong enough to defeat the Balrog without losing Gandalf), ebay may have them (make sure they have the manual w/ them). The one plus about this game was I picked it up for 25, @ gogamer.com which wasn't that much of a waste of money as it would have been elsewhere.

Waste of Money!

Honestly I am not jut being extreme...this is one of the worst games I have ever played! How can the people who made this sleep at night. I don't own very many games and don't play often but it only took me a little over five hours to beat this game and I only had to continue once or twice. The only part that took long at all was an annoying labryinth forest sequence where you have to navigate you way through an endless bore of woods. Honestly I had a feeling this game was going to be low-budget but I had no idea how bad it could be.

Well, it wasn't as much as I had hoped for...

Well, I recieved this game for Christmas, and I had high expectations. Since I had a new computer, the game was easy to install and it ran fairly well. As it has been said- the game was kind-of easy and the plot was slightly warped in a few places. However, my brother and I (who beat the game in a day) found the game amusing and we liked playing it while it lasted. However, dispite the fact it was an okay game (not great, but okay), it still wasn't worth the money my relatives paid for it. The game had several glitches- and my brother and I found some very amusing. For example- when all of you enemies suddenly freeze, as if they don't know you're there and they don't recognize you as an enemy. Well, sure- we knew this wasn't suppose to happen, but you have to admit that it was slightly entertaining seeing how many arrows could be lodged in their heads (they wouldn't die, either). Also- we found that if we were on MSN Messenger, and someone messeges us while we were playing the game, the game would shut down and have an error- losing your spot in the game unless you had saved. Overall, this game was alright, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations.

A Pleasant Surprise!

After reading some of the really negative reviews for this game, I was expecting to be really let down. I was determined to still get it though, and was actually surprised by how fun it was! I found it to be a very enjoyable game, and the only really big let down to be that it was too short! I think it's especially good for people who don't usually play games though (like me,) because its very simple and straight forward. I only had to look at the manual a few times before I had all the buttons and commands down. Also, it is very close to the book, with only a few changes that were necessary to keep it stream-lined and interesting. What I really liked about it was how it felt so much like the actual story! It's a very linear game and it even has little animated segways to help progress the plot between the different levels and such. It feels like watching a little movie, where you get to play out certain parts of it! All the levels were very enjoyable, but I think Moria was the best by far! I had lots of fun exploring all the different chambers, and even more fun getting lost in them! Another thing I enjoyed was how other members of the Fellowship followed "me" around and helped kill enemies. They're all "in character" too. Legolas shoots arrows from a distance while the other members fight it out with sword and axe! I found this amusing for some reason. Overall, I'd recommend this game to anyone who has read The Lord of the Rings and would like to "play" the story!

Fun game!

Maybe not a game for "hardcore gamers", but I found completely enjoyable from start to finish. It took me about 8 hours to complete. If you're a fan of the books, you'll enjoy it!

Moria is awesome in the game! :)

Well I'm almost done with this game. I'm past Lothlorien and I need to rescue one of the hobbit boys who was taken by a nazgul flying lizard with a wraith.

I love this game. I thought some parts were hard but when you know the trick to get past them it's not too bad.

This game is worth getting if only to see Moria. I think that is my favorite part of the game and the most fun part too. The battles are not too hard and Gandolf and Gimli make a great fighting team! Also in Moria is the place where Fordo can make use of the ring! I thought there was no use for the ring until this part of the game. When Frodo and Gimli are adventuring in Moria it is helpful to use the ring to run past Orcs and then have Gimli fight them while you adventure ahead.

I loved the part of Lothlorien I saw up in the tree with Galadriel and Celeborn. I wish I could have walked through lothlorien instead of only seeing a couple rooms up in the tree. It would have been nice as this is one part of the book that really wanted to see in the video game.

The fight with the Balrog was pretty easy in Moria. I think battling Old Man Willow was harder! I'm not complaining though. Gandalf kicks Balrog butt shooting lighting zaps and then hitting him with his sword.

This is definately a game I will replay. It's a short game but good.

Lost interest

This game was too difficult and too slow to maintain my interest. The plus side is that it is fun just to explore Middle Earth. If you have read the books, you'll enjoy seeing the written story protrayed in 3D. However, if you get stuck on problem-solving then you'll just stay in one area and quickly lose interest in playing.

Perhaps different levels of play (easy, difficult, expert) would allow inexperienced players like myself to enjoy the game.

decent graphics but clumsy game

This game has decent graphics but as someone else said before, The movements of the mouse are just clumsy and slow.It takes forever for Frodo to react when you try to make him move with the mouse. It seems as if he was running in slow motion. This is a great inconvenient when you are trying to fight and jump since he is much slower than the enemies.
Also even though the game resembles the book more than the movie it gets actually boring at some points. Its so hard to make the characters move and run smoothely that it turns frustrating.Comparing to Alice, Undying or even Harry Potter this game is a major disapointment, I can't believe I paid 50 bucks for it!

Please Don't Be fooled!!!!!!

This game is not the Movie Official Video Game, it is a gamed based on the book by J.R.R. Tolkien, it will never be as good as the offical game of the movie "THE TWO TOWERS" one, check it out and compare.

Don't be fooled and never ever waste your money in a worthless game, unless you are a trully LOTR fan and don't complain if the game is boring and really bad.
