Terrible. WARNING: THIS IS NO FLIGHT SIM

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 6 / 11

This is a shooter with planes. That is all. The flight charateristics are laughable, the gameplay mindlessly easy, and the repetition agonizing. I had very high hopes for this as I was a kid obsessed with Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe back on MSDOS. This is nothing like that. If you dig flight sims, keep looking. PS2 is just not the way to go.

Great Game!

I totally disagree with the first real persons review because it is a great game. The game play is great, your surroundings dont need to be perfect, and the controlls are very easy. I have found only one problem with the game which is: You need 2 of the original ps2 controllers in order to play multiplayer. If you will never or rarely play multiplayer this WWII game is great for you!

Lots of fun

I loved this game. Lots of fun, and not as easy as most sims. The only issue was the length of the levels at times, especially towards the end of the game, were way too long, and without save points. Still the game was a lot of fun, and at times hard to be pulled away from.

Missing in action ! where's the save game ? or..

Hi there ! I got this game for my husband , whom had been wanting it since he loves flying, it had over 20 planes was new ect.... WELL.. it does have lotttts of planes , BUT the graphics is mmmm pretty good i guess , The save game Does NOT work & there are22 total levels with 15 missions each level YOU CANT DIE or you have to start all over again!!!! it wont save what you have accomplished so far !!!! WOW come on!! Then you get so far and at the end of one of the levels the last plane is totaly unbeatable not in any mode or setting the plane flies extremely erradicaly and to fast for you to catch !!! there are no real instuctions or context to the little book it shows the planes & controls for the joyatick or keyboard is all ,, and this is a 4 cd game!! help costs you at least 2.00 $ a minute or more ... I have also read reviews that come from people who really are into flying games and they say the same its not worth it!! Compared to say CAll Of Duty it really bites!!!!

Being a private pilot, I guess I'm a little particular when it comes to games in this area. I've read reviews and checked out screen shots before buying, and unfortunately for me, neither told an accurate story. The control of flight is incredibly limited. There is no rolling (without which you can't dogfight well at all), bombing is basically impossible due to an out of sight crosshair, the computer seems to take over to level the plane out, and it takes forever to build up for hangar. You can loop, but that's about it. The best part of the game for me was defending a base from the ground with a huge gun. The game is easy, even on the tough setting. My suggestion, buy another game like Ace Combat.

this game is great but the aircraft wont roll unless you put the advanced 1 controller setting.it has challenging missions especially the lastone d-day. this game is definetly worth buying. all the people that say that it sucks is because they suck at the game

ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED

It's an overall fun game, but it could be better if it had more fun, more multiplayer rounds. I put four stars on fun because I thought the levels could be a little shorter. I also thought it could be easier than what it is. Like the clash at Coral Sea could have more fighters to protect the torpedo and divebomber planes. I gave it an overall five star rating because as you go through the missions you can steal Japanese and German planes from their hangers and take them back to your hanger and fight with them in different battles. I recommend this game for people who like WW2 and military aircraft.

20 out of 10

When I got this game on crhistmas I was so surprised how good it was. Iw you like WWII planes you'll get this game. Some examples of planes are the P-38, Bf 109, me 262, Spitfire, P-51, a Russian IL2 and more. You can bomb enemys, shoot them down, and hit U-Boats with torpedos. You can also use Anti Air guns.It has challenging and fun levels such as Midway, D-Day, Norway, and much more.Your arch enemy is Krieger from nemis. At the menu screen that says new game and continue put in up, down, left, right, left(2), right(2), L1(2), R1(2), L2, R2. That might be it. It'll take you down to low health but don't be fulled by it. It'll say seceret code excepted. That's useful for D-Day. This is my altime favorite PS2 game. So if I were you I'd buy here now. Go get off the reviews and buy it.

A great game for the "non-serious" gamer

I'll be brief - I'm NOT a serious gamer (or even close), I like to be able to sit for 30 minutes to an hour for some quick escapism without having to spend hours reading manuals and then spend 20-30 hours or more a week getting proficient. This game is excellent for that purpose. I found the story, graphics and variety of missions to be great and a lot of fun with a very short learning curve. It's not a flight sim - it's definately arcade type action. If you "have a life", enjoy history, and just want to have some "shoot'em up fun" this game is the answer - if you have bought other games and felt totally intimidated by their complexity, this game may be for you. I recommend it for pure entertainment enjoyment. BTW - I have the PC version and run on XP Pro w/64MB NVidia graphics.

Secret Weapons Over Normandy is a great game. All the misions are fun. You even get to be be a gunner in a bomber. The theres a lot of planes and weapons to chose from. Its probably the only World War 2 plane game for Playstation 2. If you like plane and flying games you will probably like this game.NY
