Good game - but beware

Overall, this is an excellent sequel to the original Baldur's Gate series. But beware, if you have a wireless mouse, especially itouch, you won't be able to play the game at a level that you would like. Apparently, there is a bug with the software which the programmers have not, nor will not, fix. Spells will not cast, characters will not follow your directions, etc. Some people have had success by disconnecting their wireless equipment and hard-plugging another into their computer.

its a oldie but a goodie

I just bought this game, the reviews here made it sound great. I am a huge never winter nights fan and after playing that game for a very long time I just couldn't get past the graphics. They are awful. I am sorry but if you are used the graphics of today's games then this game isn't for you. I can't tell you if the game itself is fun to play, I haven't played it. I just couldn't get past the graphics. Sorry bad review from me.

This game is NOT for windows XP!

Like a lot of other deceptions, this game is NOT for Windows XP. Baldur's Gate couldn't be programed by official company or fansite(as with Ultima) to run on XP. It is not possible. The same could be said for Ultima Collecton which stated it was for windows 95 RIGHT ON THE BOX and doesn't run on that os. Please put the correct OS for this game.
Deception #2: This game only contains what BG Saga contained, Baldur's Gate. It is not an "Ultimate" Collection, so don't expect BG II or ToB. It is just another name for the same thing(and for bux) bottom line, if you have BG, stick with it and play it on your old windows 98 system that your so fortunate to own, don't mess with this! If you don't have BG(by now) then your too young to appreciate it!

Too many stats in the game play, great graphics.

When we finally got this game to load, it was another waiting
period simply to build a character. We prefer RPGs like Revenant
and Doom and Quake series; and in all honesty expected something
like that in this game. However it runs more in line with Myst,
in that you have to hunt for items before moving awkwardly along
the same level. It also presents you with a dozen or more buttons
just to allow the player to move, fight, cast spells of alike. If
you are not willing to PRINT OUT THE MANUAL, you are going to
be lost until you figure out what the dozens of picture icons mean. The opponent characters will not be kind, lauching attacks
while your struggling to figure out what to do for your character
and several others you can control as your merry team tries to
advance past a wizard's dungeon.
Yes it has fine graphics and sound and interesting levels. But this PC game fell well short of our hopes. It gets a 3 for effort. If your a MYST fan, you'll probably like the novelty of
action.

Ok game, good graphics, kind of hard to follow at times.

Definitely Circa 2001

I'm new to the game but am pretty disappointed by the graphics and interface. This game was probably ahead of its time in 2001, but it pales next to more recent games such as Neverwinter Nights. The story line seems interesting enough that I'll play it a while longer longer and give it chance.

Hard to stop playing

I had so much fun playing this game. It was hard to go to bed many nights because I wanted to accomplish one more task. The game is a lot different that the Playstation version... much slower and more complicated to maneuver the people, especially during battles. It is nice to be able to save your game so quickly and not lose a lot of progress after someone kills you.

Unless you have 40 free hours during the next two weeks I wouldn't buy this game. If you do - have fun!

Decimate some free time!

Like RPGs? Computer not quite up to recent standards? You shouldn't miss this, provided you don't mind eating up a few weeks (at least) of playing time. An excellent game- especially as far as role-playing games go. It's a little more action based, in the vein of the Diablo series, but with a decent plotline. And very customizable.

Wonderful! Really great story lines & adventures. I couldn't wait to get the next adventure, Neverwinter Nights.
