Rockstar is a joke

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 4 / 42

I sincerely believe that Rockstar Games is quite possibly the cheapest video game company in the industry today.

Example:

-The Junkyard where you rescue Lance Vance in GTA: Vice City is 99% the same thing as a level in Manhunt.
-Dialogue in The Warriors was lifted from Manhunt, but with different voices.

The game itself is, basically, a rockstar game. Boring controls, mediocre gameplay, decent voice-acting, which again is repetitive (when tagging the Destroyers turf one of your fello gang members spits the same line about 6 or 7 times.)

Thus far, Rockstar games is 1 for, well, i don't know how many they've made, but Manhunt is their only good game.

If you liked the movie then you ...............

well i learned my lesson with rockstar and rented this one. i bought gtaIII because of the hype and hated it. once i got over the newness of running around anywhere i realized how much it sucked. then i bought manhunt, which was unspeakably terrible. i rented vice city which was alright...then in some moment of madness rented san andreas which was a ugly (ps1 level graphics) mess of a game. like gtaIII it was frequently too hard and frustrating and definitely not worth the effort. which leads to the warriors, a bad game based on a bad movie which plays badly. what more is there to say?

ITS A GOOD GAME FOR ADULTS

I must say for a Kid this is not a game for them. Like all rockstar games there for the Adults. Its got very bad language in it. Everything from a person trying to Rape a girl and all that. I must say all and all this game sucks. I was a fan of the Movie and rented this game. I got it played the tutorial and then it got down to the game. It was all and all Bad with Play bad the camera gets lost at times with you losing your player, then you have the Bad moral behind the game. F-word used to much. Sex offered to much. This day and age has brought out the worste in people. I had Pacman growing up he ate dots and ghosts now the kids are playing games where they go out and steal and kill people gives a great understanding to LIFE.

---------------------DONT BUY------------------------------------
-------------BAD LANGUAGE, BAD BEHAVIOR, YOU NAME ITS GOT -------

Rock Star Goes Further Into the Gutter

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 6 / 34

Rock Star's popularity essentially rests on two concepts; innovation and controversy. The first, and most positive concept, is to introduce something groundbreaking. With the GTA games, they introduced free roaming evironment with very few restrictions. There was cartoonish violence and some bad language, but it was all in good fun.

But other, less innovative Rockstar games have relied on one thing; moving further into the gutter. The Warriors is no exception. This game is about one thing; brutal, realistic gang violence, with countless F-Words, a rape or two, and basically mass chaos. They'd have done better if the characters would have repeated one phrase the entire time; WE'RE BREAKING ALL THE RULES MAN! WE'RE PUSHING THE ENVELOPE MAN!

That seems to be the only goal with this game. While the senseless violence is there, it doesn't have the free roaming of the GTA games, and the dialogue is some of the most irritating, with seemingly endless one-liners and non-stop cursing.

If this sounds like your thing, well... bon apetite!

Opinions differ but I didn't like it

I think the whole idea of The Warriors with vests and funny afros, bandanas, baseball uniforms... is just silly. Warlord looks like one of those guys who throws a towel over his head because he's gonna do yard work. Add all this to an imaginary world of gangsters who don't use guns and you have a very silly beatem up game. I have trouble distinguishing the difference between this and State of Emergency.

When in cooperative mode, the game play splits into two screens and everything gets a lot smaller. The camera gets confusing and the game looses any atmosphere it's supposed to have. In the end I just remember running around in circles fetching for items in these mini like city portions. I just didn't like it, if you want a violent atmospheric game, I recommend Manhunt also from Rockstar games. A game I personally thought was underrated.

well let's see... it's a rockstar game.. yep, it's a rockstar game.

how many games have rockstar made? i don't know, but it seems like it never ends. the godfather, grand theft auto, bully... all the same damn game with different graphics and different stories. the warriors mixes it up *a little* by focusing on the close melee combat. unfortunately, the melee combat isn't nearly as fun when you're playing it as it looks in those screenshots. it doesn't help that there's a lot of gangsters on the screen at the same time, making it hard to see who are your buddies and who you should be beating up.

as in every other lame rockstar game, the controls are too complicated (read: easy to forget). there's a different control scheme for everything from picking a lock to busting down gates to.. you name it. the problem is (like in grand theft auto) there's no quick reference or reminder on the screen to tell you the controls. so i'm sitting there with a full "rage meter" and can't remember how to use it. this game isn't worth sifting through the controls in options to learn how to do something. now if it was ninja gaiden, it would be worth looking up.. but this is certainly no ninja gaiden!

the good: good graphics, good storyline, great dialog and style. unfortunately, it's a bunch of style and some pretty boring repetitive gameplay. even super mario bros. 1 had more variety than just punching and kicking. yawn. i'll be skipping anything that says "rockstar games" on it for the rest of my life. they never really make anything new or exciting.

Very dissapointing

The worker at GameStop recommended this game over Sopranos and Transformers(I haven't played either). This game is a mix of very easy and non-engaging. The entire game you are given instruction after instruction about 5 seconds apart. It feels as though the game keeps telling you, "run forward", "follow Warchief" over and over. The game for me became boring after about 20 minutes. I was anticipating some further action to take place, but never got to it.

Warriors a Let Down

Just a let a down, not as good as I thought... should rent it 1st

Good to rent, but not buy. The game is pretty good, but not very deep.

The Warriors is a fun romp, but it wasn't as engaging as other Rockstar releases. The environment is small, and not varied enough, the things to do in the story mode are limited and get old quickly, and overall I finished the game in a rather short period of time.

Good rental. Save the other $40 for something else.
