Exciting Game

I actually played GR2 JungleStorm before playing the original GR. GR2 is the better game on a few small levels, but GR 1 is still excellent.
If you like FPS games, but also like a level of stategy, you should enjoy this game. There is also a good "open-world" feel to the game. you do have to acheive specific objectives to win, but you can approach your goals from many different angles and by employing various stategies/styles of play.
I really enjoyed the progression of my besat squad members as well.

This is my favorite game. Ghost Recon is the best game I ever played. My mom really, really, really wants to play it. It's very challenging and it's very fun because you get different types of weapons and you get to pick your soldiers. It's fun because you get to shoot people and there's blood. I'm a huge war fan and Ghost Recon fan.

Ghost Recon for the PS2

I love this Ghost Recon game. It was the first one out for the PS2. The basic concept of the game is to use stealth to overtake your enemies however this point is completely optional.

Sometimes it is just fun to choose your favorite members. As you complete more missions and do more of the extra objectives, you can unlock secret characters who have very high levels of skill over your own players. Although you do have to make sure to have a well rounded team. Team members who have been killed cannot be used for the missions and it is wise to leave your wounded members back at the base to heal for a mission or two.

You can choose your team to be made up of a group of bazooka-weilding members if you so desired. You just have to make sure that you have an appropritate member to complete the mission. It is completely open-ended in the style you are able to complete your missions.

Although the graphics are not the best of all the PS2 games, the are certainly on par. The only problem that I would see with them is that it can get difficult to see your enemies during the daytime missions.

I certainly enjoyed this game when it was released and it is a good classic game. It's not an easy game, but it's challenging. I have to say that if you liked this game, you are sure to like the other Tom Clancy games, such as Splinter Cell or GRAW. Ghost Recon for the PC is probably a better title as the graphics are much impoved over the PS2 graphics and there are a lot more cinematic sequences there as well.

The plot is based on the Russian ultranationalists taking over a small neighboring country in a bid to rebuild their crumbling country. The Ghosts are part of a taskforce that has been sent in to help the fledgling country fight off it's attackers.

this game is okay as it is (the only reason im doing this is because my friend klyer.)Scott rogusta here is not right at all you guys (even kids like me that are 8 years old really on graphics). ;) so Scott 'fancy' makes realisam stand out like call of duty (check that out peoples)which is 'fancy' and realistic at the same time. ta ta for now folks!

A must have title for any "true" war gamer.

I could go on and on telling you about this game but instead I'll cut to the chase, breaking this game down into little pieces.

Concept - Lead five fellow Ghosts into battle using stealth and all out firepower, depending on the situation. The story is set in the near future where you will retreive documents, rescue prisoners, take hostages, and the like. The overall goal is to accomplish these tasks swiftly, silently, and invisibly, hence the name Ghost Recon.

Controls - The controls are tight and work very well, I disagree with the people saying the controls take a long time to get use to. They are great and the PS2 version makes a target zoom avilable. Never at one point did I get frustrated or confused by the controls.

Graphic - Too many people complain about this part of the game. I actually think the graphics are really good. Do take in mind that this game originated on the PC so the graphics transition to the PS2 was actually done very nicely. The graphics don't focus on "fancy" they focus on "realism" which I think many will agree is the better to strive for. I know they are not the best but the gameplay is so good that I never cared.

Sound - Ok this part is cool. All the guns sound different, as they should, but so do bullets at different distances. A bullet wizzing by your head sounds like, well, a bullet wizzing by your head and guns blazing in the distance sound cool and give you the feeling your being shot at. Now, maybe it sounds like I'm getting excited over nothing but trust me, if you crank this game through a good sound system, it'll rock.

Gameplay - The gameplay is very diverse. No two levels look alike or play alike making no levels a waste of time or give you the feeling that you've played it before. I really wanted to see this game through and couldn't put it down for the longest time. Everything is so unpredictable and original.

Replayability - Man this game is replayable espiecially due to the mini challenges, various multiplayer modes (including co-op) and second campaign you unlock after beating the first which is 15 missions long and can be played on three different difficulties, that change the amount of enemies and their skills.

I love this game and any "true" war gamer should as well. 10/10

Ghost Recon and Desert Siege

This really contains two games listed in the title of this review. Forget what anyone says about this game. It's awsome even without online play. Once you command Bravo squad to go to a certain area and follow them, getting pinned down by machine gun fire from Russian terrorists, you'll realize how tactical it is. You have to check your map and take a secure position on high ground or a concealed area for sniping. Unfortunately the levels that require you to go inside are quit clunky, but the outside levels ranging from the Red Square to desert battlefields are quit superb. The first level is even difficult if you don't realise that as soon as you come over the hill you're getting mowed down be enemy gunfire. It's a game about planning tactical strategy. It's not as stealthy as Socom, but it's definetely more open ended as in completing levels. There's hardly a set path for most of them. It's a really fun game to play through again also. And there are plenty of unlockables.

Another!

Another wonderful Tom Clancey game. This is a great one. You are fighting Russian ultranationalists who are trying to remake the Soviet Union. Great Game!

Ghost Recon is a great game. It wasn't all that hard to beat, but I am a war junky. Some missions took a few tries, and I was grateful to learn from my mistakes. In single-player mode, I suggest you equip one or two of your troopers with LAWs (anti-armor systems) on just about all of the missions. Even if you don't find any armor, the rocket launchers are pretty effective against infantry. Anyhow, Ghost Recon is amazing. Very realistic, and very good graphics (most of the time, for both qualities). It includes a wide arsenal of REAL weapons, although I wish the makers would've incorporated specific inventory options for EVERY Ghost soldier. In explanation, each soldier has a specific primary weapon, and a minimal selection of secondary weapons. Hence, if a soldier has an M249, it can't be replaced with an M-60. I think that sucks, because a good soldier with a bad weapon doesn't count for much. Ghost Recon uses a rather wide variety of missions, each one pretty much entirely different from the others. One slight downfall is the fact that you can't use any vehicles. But, the US/NATO vehicles and soldiers you're protecting will also fight, rather than just sit there and get slaughtered like in some other games. After the Georgia/Russia campaign, the game continues onto an 8-mission Ethiopian conflict. Be careful at the beginning, though; some of the Ethiopian innocents look just like the enemy soldiers (I learned that the hard way).
Multi-player mode ain't all that bad. You can fight each other, work together on missions (but they have to be unlocked by being beaten in single-player mode), or work together against randomly-placed AIs in any of the mission maps. In multi-player, you can choose your equipment (for the most part) from a wide variety of weapons from around the world, at least for your primary firearm. Your secondary, though, is accompanied to the primary, and you don't have nearly as much choice. Multi-player is really pretty cool, but I warn you that it's only you and the other person fighting for the good guys, except for the mission-critical Allied forces. In other words, it's only you and him/her; no squad.
Like the original Ghost Recon, I'm gonna purchase the sequel without even renting (and I bet I won't regret it)!

enjoy

This game is a very good buy, Im glad I bought it. Out of all the war games I bought this game by far out weighs the others. Socom, Medal of Honor, and the joke game Conflict Desert Storm cant beat this game. This is the idea of what real war games should be like and thats all there is to it.
