I don't care what everyone else says--this is an awesome game.

First of all, I can understand why people are frustrated with this game. At first it's a bit difficult to get the hang of. I myself have gotten stuck in the wall a couple of times, but it's not a problem if you save your game every once in awhile.

Here are the controls:
Use button: U key (you can also sometimes use the mouse or
the enter key--depending on what you are doing)
Inventory: I key
Pocket: P key
Moving: Arrow keys. Don't try and use the mouse.
Jump: Space bar
Tab also does something--I just forgot what.

There are a few others. There is a key you can press to see what the controlls are--but I forgot which one it is as I have not played in awhile. I reccomend looking it up on Google.
You will use the "use" button most of all.

A note--when I won my second competition, I decided to get the large palomino horse. Let me tell you--DO NOT do that. He is slow, he cannot jump, and he messedd up my game. You can do "Practice Rounds" from the main screen, and usually you can select your horse. It is STUCK on this stupid palomino. Don't make the same mistake I did--however pretty he may be. I reccoment Coctail He's the best horse in the game in my opinion, followed by your original horse, and then "Mosaic". Be sure to look around the stable in all kinds of nooks and crannies--you will find lucky items and some things that will help you in competiotions. I once found carrots outside, but curiously I have never been able to do that again.

Secondly, I've figured out something you can do if you get stuck in the wall--if you can find a way to open stall doors, sometimes it will "unstick" you. I also reccomend that you don't go between the horse and the wall if it's a tight space.

Next, for those who are dissapointed with the graphics--they are pretty darn good if you ask me. You aren't going to pay 20 bucks for a somewhat old game from a foreign contry and get the same quality as what will show up on your PS2. It's just life. My brother, who is a computer security major, commented on how impressive the graphics were for this kind of game. It was not made to be like, Halo or Zelda. It was meant to be a fun game for small, horse-loving girls to play.

Lastly, about the "Dimond Mystery" --It is on the second CD. Competitions is on the same one as Legacy. I think why everyone hates it is becasue when you go to the control panel, it automatically tends to install Competitions, which I agree is not fun at all. You must type in D:/setup.exe INSTEAD of D:/install.exe. Read the front of the disk--it will tell you. It's not rocket science.

Legacy is the best game in my opinion, followed by the Dimond mystery. Competitions I hated--it's extremely difficult to get your horse in the right spot to clear the jumps--they refuse 60 percet of the time. You can also jump like...20 feet in the air from a standstill. That doesn't happen.

I am a passionate equestrian, and I can tell you that if you have a little girl(or boy) who loves horses but can't take lessons or have a horse, this is the best game in the world. I admit that some of the facts disgustingly off, but that's okay. If you want to LEARN about horses, I suggest buying the very first "Let's Ride!" game, which I learned a WHOLE lot about horses and dressage from. It is also an excellent game, but not as much fun as this one.

Thank you for reading this (LONG) review and I hope you have fun with this game!! :)

This game is awesome!!! It may have a few glitches but it's a computer game. What do you expect? I'm trying to own all the horses on my different 'accounts' on the game. Also get Equestriad with this one.

So so

I bought this game and it was very hard to control the horse and get over the jumps. But, otherwise this is a very good game. If you buy it I hope you have good success - better success than I've had.

Great Game!!!

I love this game a lot. I just got the game and I like it a lot already. I would recomend it (sorry for the bad spelling) and it is DEFINATELY for horse lovers. I was wondering how you get the hay bale for John but other than that I am satisfied with what I got. Sure it has it's errors but for what I paid it is worth it.

I love this game

This game is cool because it's almost like having a real horse and the graphics are cool too.You can train your horse by practicing on the jumping course, Steeplechase, and Cross country course. After you go to competion you can choose another horse. You can talk to the other people that give you helpful tips. You can brush, feed, tack and groom your horse.

I love it

After having played many Nancy Drew mystery games, I found this really refreshing. I'm only talking about the mystery game. I haven't even gotten to the horse games - which is what I bought this for. The mystery was really neat! Sure at times it seemed a bit primative but it was so European in feel. The street scenes were just really not too all-American. The scenes were really pretty - the sky, trees and buildings. Sure the voices were in American English but you could see it was done by people in another part of the world with a different idea of a city and streets. Even the punks on the park bench were unlike stuff from the U.S.A.

The main character has real short red hair. No blond Barbie! and isn't a goodie two shoes. She steals keys, lies and does stuff we all do that no one is afraid of putting in software for fear of being sued as a bad role model for girls!

that's enough! Hey in the time where all software is sooooooooooo much the same- more worried about liability than entertainment - this is not perfect but refreshing!

Nice Concept, Serious Issues

The graphics aren't that bad, the video isn't bad either, but like what everyone said before, this game has stuff that makes no sense. Like the developers left out the little details.
For example, for the tasks, one person will ask you to clean out
"Comet's stall" but the person never says which of the, what, maybe 10 stall stable is Comet's. Same with being asked to take someone else's horse to pasture.. I later noticed his horse looked the same as the horse I chose on the second level. So many gliches as well. For example, it won't let me let go of the horse, or let me put the horse in its stall, drives me nuts! Its ashamed because the game has so much potential. It just needs to be more user friendly and logical.

A great game

What a fun game! I got this as a birthday present a few years ago and was not dissapointed. I found it easy to control, and even though not created by equestrians, interesting courses and activites. I did have a bit of trouble at first-took awhile to load, get the hang of navigation, but afterwards it was fun to play! The aim of the game stays interesting and the graphics were nice. I especially liked how you weren't limited to just showjumping, dressage and cross-country. The creators were slightly more creative--even though they had to sacrifice some of the "realism".

I did accidentally break this disc when I stepped on it. I tried playing the mystery game, but it never loaded so I threw it out. I would love to play this game again, it gives me something to do one those days I can't go ride!

As for people who are bad mouthing this game-I didn't find it that horrible. Go ride a horse.

This game was so fun! I love horses so anyone who has a horse or enjoys horses must get this game! You get to ride the horses in different compitetions and in different parts of the stables. This game shows how horses really are (in a 3-D mode) and is so fun and so exciting. Sometimes when you are the rider you can get so nervous about what will the horse do and when will the horse mess up? This game is also fun because it comes along with a Mystery, the mystery doesn't have much to do with horses but it has to do with a whole lot more, adventure! If you are into adventure and on-the-edge-of-your-seat excitement this game is for you! :)

pretty good game
