i loved this game but its really hard
to get to the western champion ships there were a lot of spelling errors and the graphics were ok. the best horse to get is cocky (cocktail) alpha is just plain slow. Cocky is wicked fast and a pretty good jumper, i also thought that the game gets boring when u can't move forward but if you like horses then u will deffinetly love this game(if u have any clue what the third event is to get to the western champions then could you pleas post it up it would deffinetly help.)

Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME Game!!!

I totally love this game. But there are some weird things about it.
Okay, to begin with: all the characters are ugly. Especially the veterinarian.
Next: the song that plays during the credits are annoying, plus it's John's voice singing it!
Melissa is too rude and John is too nice and Michael walks too fast and Linda is just too weird. The veterinarian acts like she's battery-operated or something. She walks really jerky and really fast.
When Melissa tells you that your horse is hurt she sounds gleeful, and then she asks you to do a favor for her. How dumb is that?
There are too many spelling errors and the horse's ancestors are named "Game Boy" "Happy Cloud" and "Gold Finger." What the heck! Those are the weirdest names ever.
I think I know why there are so many spelling errors. I think the people are foreign or something. Maybe they're German. In the credits all their names sound German and Annie looks German. I don't know.
And Melissa ALWAYS wins the competitions, even if you get no bad points and have 100% horse health and do your very best.

Here are some good things about it:

The chores are fun. The game is very realistic. I like how the foal is born at the end. They don't give him a name but it leaves you to call him your own name! I especially like the different settings of the competitions. You get to go inside the big mansion! I love this game. I have 0 problems with it, except that sometimes the screen goes black. But I think it's my stupid computer, not the game. It's 25 horses, their food, their stalls, everything.
HINT: Coming back into the stable after dumping out the wheelbarrow CAN be a problem, but not if you walk back into the stable backwards!
This is the best horse game I've ever played. They really make it realistic.
You should get this game if you like horses!!!

Let's Ride: The Rosemond Hill Collection (2 games)

This game is very fun but has a lot of problems in it. Both games are terribly hard to play and I'll tell you why. Legacy: Alpha is really hard to train and ride. He rears about every 10 steps in practice! In practice, the horse moves slower than normal. In the first competition, you get to choose from four horses: I like Do It the best. It 's always hard to get the wheel barrow back into the barn after mucking the stall and dumping it. Sometimes you get stuck in the walls and then you can't get out. I warn you, do not ride John's horse; you can't get off! When you sweep the dirt out of the barn, it appears again in about 5 seconds. Melissa is mean, but Comet is smooth and nice to ride. Competitions: The horses will NEVER jump! Then you have to back up and TRY to jump again. Somtimes you will be successful, sometimes you're not. I really hope this review helps you.

If you like horses and freedom buy it!

I love this game because it gives you freedom and horses! This is my favorite game out of all the Let's Ride games. I have a horse and love him dearly and this game is exactly like owning a real horse! There's a whole story behind the game which makes it more fun. If you love horses this is the game for you!

AWESOME GAME!!!

This is a pretty cool game. It can get really boring once you've finished Kingswood. Oh, and by the way: it's possible to get a 1st place in each competition if you have the right horse. Except in Kingswood! Melissa ALWAYS beats you in Kingswood.
I haven't had any problems with the game, except for sometimes the screen goes totally blank.
But it was pretty easy to install.
And for those of you who don't know the difference between "Legacy of Rosemond Hill" and "Competitions," well, Competitions is a separate little side game that's fairly boring. Legacy is the main game.
Also, I didn't get "The Diamond Mystery" with my game. I have no idea what that is or how to install it. But I didn't get my game from Amazon, so I don't know if that has something to do with it.
The horses supposedly have all these great personalities. They DON'T! I mean, they all just sit there in the stall.
However, this game is pretty cool. I love it!

it's OK

I've had this game for a couple of years, and it's very good, but there are some annoying things about it. 1-Sometimes when I clean the stall and take it out, I can't get back in. 2-Sometimes I get stuck in the wall...glitch? Another thing, on the internet, it says something about a diamond mystery...I've never done it!! Never even a hint about it! Competitions at Rosemond Hill is VERY, VERY hard! The map does NOT tell you where you're going, and I end up in a white or black field of "nothingness" because I go out of bounds. Other than this, the game is very fun because it's YOUR responsibility for your horse(s) and your life. The foal at the end of the game is cute, too, even though you can't take care of it LOL :)

Worth ZERO stars! A complete money waster!

I decided to get this game because it looked like it would be entertaining for at least a short amount of time. I was wrong! I don't think I have ever found a worse way to spend 10 dollars. This game takes FOREVER to load, for one thing. At first I thought my computer had frozen, and I restarted it several times but finally just let it sit and it finally loaded. I was at first hopeful because of the nice introductory video clip, which has great animation, but was bitterly disappointed. The character is IMPOSSIBLE to control and she kept spinning in circles when I wanted her to go straight. The horses are very difficult to direct, as well, and on the jump courses they run around out of control and it is near impossible to get them straight enough long enough to take a fence. Navigation is near impossible. I kept getting lost in the stable and the pitiful wanna-be graphics are PREPOSTEROUS! Half of the time all of the colours would go white, making it VERY difficult to see ANYTHING, and I kept having to go back to the title page to get the graphics coloured again, so that I could see them. The game is RIDICULOUS. DO NOT buy it, I garuantee you will be disappointed.

Doesn't Work on Newer/High-End Gaming Machines

I bought this game for my daughter and it will not run properly on any newer gaming machines with XP, even when you try to run it in compatibility mode. The graphics are absolutely terrible and pixelated.

On the Swedish version...

Several years ago, I don't remember how many, I read a review in a horse magazine about Arvet Från Rosemond Hill (Legacy), and went to the store, however they only had the other one in stock, which I brought while waiting, I hated that game. So when I brought Arvet, I didn't have high expectations, but the game surprised me.

While it isn't deep or difficult. (I can go through all competitions except Kingswood in the first try.) And not entirely accurate (Steeplechase...) it is a fun game. The voice acting is bad (the only Swedish voice actors I ever liked were in a few cartoons, otherwise yelling and showing emotions seems alien to most of them) and the graphics old, I still play it from time to time along with the Swedish versions of Mysteriet och Drömjobbet, and according to Rosemond [...] there will be a new horse game this autumn which reprises Annie and stars a new girl named Amanda.

Since it is a game that I've had for several years I wont compare it to newer games such as The Sims 2 or Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, but I do admit that the bad graphics puts me off sometimes. (Especially when the saddle goes *through* the horse when I take it off...)

A Little Dissapointing

I was eagerly awaiting the arival of this game, I like to "test" out new horsey games and save them for my kids. Rosemond Hill looked great, and in real life, it's not "bad".
Firstly, if you are a non-horsey parent looking for a game to educate your child about horses, this is NOT the game for you. There are many flaws in the information given about equines in this game, including their heights, diets and behaviours. They indicate, for example, a three day event could be won with a 'faster' horse- what about a better educated, more athletic or sane horse?
The graphics in this game are atrocious. I thought that Willowbrook Stables was bad. I have been caught in walls between ten and fifteen times, mainly when washing the horse, grooming the horse, talking to people, bringing the wheelbarrow in, riding...
This game is difficult. I couldn't see a child under about eight mastering the controls effectively- be better off with a Barbie Horse Adventure game or even Let's Ride: Championship Collection.
On a more positive side, this game is quite engaging (if not annoying at times!). You get to choose your own horses, which you earn by winning events, clean after them and interact with other people.
Overall, this game is a must have for horsey-mad children (and adults!) who feel the impulsive need to own every horse game ever made. For everyone else, I'd give it a miss and get Pippa Funnell Saddle Up (Stud Farm Inheritance in the UK and Australia).
