In this game, you play as Mary-Kate and Ashley, who are trapped in a mall with no escape. To turn things back to normal, you must win a magical gem at each open store in the mall by completing a certain activity that each store has to offer. If you do well, you can also win Bonus Tokens that you use at the Bonus Token store to unlock certain things in each activity, such as new clothes in the modeling activity, new boards in the snowboarding activity, and things such as that. Basically, it is a kind of poor plot that gives girls an excuse to play fashion designer, and put together music videos. The graphics are, of course, the cheap, boxy kind used in all Mary-Kate and Ashley video games. Though the little activities are fun, an older gamer would probably be able to beat the entire game in under a few hours, maybe less. The game will last a little longer if you try to unlock everything unlockable with the Bonus Tokens, but personally, once I'd beat the game, I was ready to turn it off. Actually, the more you beat the game, I'm guessing the easier it'll be to re-beat it. It's not really one of those games that's fun to beat repeated times. Now that I've beat it, I really only play the game once every few months when I'm in the mood to dress and take photos of Mary-Kate and Ashley. Younger girls will probably find the game more amusing then older girls, like myself, who prefer long games that take a bunch of free time and retries to beat. Besides that, the game will prove useless once you beat it if you're the only girl in your family, where other games can appeal to both genders. I was also frusterated to find that for some reason, I could not save on this game like I could on others. I think it had something to do with having a PS2 instead of a PS1; but whatever the reason, other PS1 games have saved on our PS2, so I don't know what the deal was with that.

Overall, I'd say this is about what a game based on real stars is like. The people making it aren't looking to make the game of the year, they're just trying to make a simple game for the fans. I say, if you like Mary-Kate and Ashley, you'll probably like this game. But if you're not a Mary-Kate and Ashley fan, you would probably rather buy something with more atmosphere and more challenging activities.

Good, but too easy!!

when I first played this game, I thought it was excellent but then once I had seen everything once and grasped the basic idea, I had completed it. I'm not the worlds best computer gamer and it only took me two hours to complete. It was still fun though. I think it is better for the younger age group.

Not alot to do

This game is fun, but can get frusterating. definetly not one of my favorite games. I think some of the stuff is very hard to complete and eventually give up. I only spent about 20 minutes before I turned it off. the graphics are ok, the sounds are cool

Waste of time

When will Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen realize that they can't act, or make video games anymore! Theese bad actresses make bad video games too. This video game has horrible graphics and MK and Ashley's voices sound fake, come on MK and A Olsen, give us something worthwhile for ONCE in your lives....

FUN!!!

hey, i own mary-kate and ashley mystery mall. i think over all it's a fun game. the concept is stupid...and of course, it's just boosting mary-kate and ashley's ego...but it's fun for girls of all ages. The game itself is shallow..the girls buy a mysterious gem from a gypsy or something...then they unlock it. a spell was cast over the mall, and they will be stuck in the mall 4ever unless they solve puzzles. they dress up and put on a fashion show, they snowboard, they take pics of guys, make a music video, and work. the dancing is pretty on beat and they can dance to your music..the only thing is, mary-kate and ashley wouldn't know real rythm if it slapped them in the face...they're stiff...but over all, it's fun!

The game was really fun because it included things girls like to do and things that girls are interested in. Also it was a great game because it was challenging and it involed skill. The first time I played it I fell in love with the game and now I am on this website to get the price. This game was great, one of my top ten choices.

Ok but not what expected.

I was disappointed about this game; It could have been alot better. It is a pretty good game if you pay under $10 for it. This game would be alot better if it had more levels to it. Overall it was ok; I would buy it if I was a HUGE Olsen fan.
