I was disappointed about this game; It could have been alot better. It is a pretty good game if you pay under $10 for it. This game would be alot better if it had more levels to it. Overall it was ok; I would buy it if I was a HUGE Olsen fan.

Decent

In this game, you play as Mary-Kate and Ashley, who are trapped in a mall with no escape. To turn things back to normal, you must win a magical gem at each open store in the mall by completing a certain activity that each store has to offer. If you do well, you can also win Bonus Tokens that you use at the Bonus Token store to unlock certain things in each activity, such as new clothes in the modeling activity, new boards in the snowboarding activity, and things such as that. Basically, it is a kind of poor plot that gives girls an excuse to play fashion designer, and put together music videos. The graphics are, of course, the cheap, boxy kind used in all Mary-Kate and Ashley video games. Though the little activities are fun, an older gamer would probably be able to beat the entire game in under a few hours, maybe less. The game will last a little longer if you try to unlock everything unlockable with the Bonus Tokens, but personally, once I'd beat the game, I was ready to turn it off. Actually, the more you beat the game, I'm guessing the easier it'll be to re-beat it. It's not really one of those games that's fun to beat repeated times. Now that I've beat it, I really only play the game once every few months when I'm in the mood to dress and take photos of Mary-Kate and Ashley. Younger girls will probably find the game more amusing then older girls, like myself, who prefer long games that take a bunch of free time and retries to beat. Besides that, the game will prove useless once you beat it if you're the only girl in your family, where other games can appeal to both genders. I was also frusterated to find that for some reason, I could not save on this game like I could on others. I think it had something to do with having a PS2 instead of a PS1; but whatever the reason, other PS1 games have saved on our PS2, so I don't know what the deal was with that.

Overall, I'd say this is about what a game based on real stars is like. The people making it aren't looking to make the game of the year, they're just trying to make a simple game for the fans. I say, if you like Mary-Kate and Ashley, you'll probably like this game. But if you're not a Mary-Kate and Ashley fan, you would probably rather buy something with more atmosphere and more challenging activities.

Best MK&A game ever!

I'm a huge fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley. So, of course, I just had to try out this game. I went out, rented a system, and borrowed it from my friend. In the 5 days I had it, I just couldn't stop playing it. I haven't played it in over a year now and it's driving me crazy! People have their own opinions, but I think that this game is 100% entertaining. It's the best MK&A game ever.

A lot of the games are really fun, but some are just frusterating, like Lizzie's Lunch. It keeps getting harder and harder, and it gets so easy to mess up the orders. The people also get mad a lot faster, so whether the order is right or wrong, it's hard to give them their food before they leave. The snowboarding game was kind of hard, too. For me it was sort of difficult to control them and they kept getting stuck. They're still fun, though. They may be hard, but what's a game without some sort of challenge?!

Like most people, my favorite game was Music Nation. It was kind of hard at times, but I didn't care. It was so fun that every time I lost, I loved having to go back and playing it again. I thought it was so fun to make up the dance routine and how you got to pick the music and everything. It was kinda cool how you could use your bonus tokens to unlock both twins. It just seems more fun when you have both of them dancing. You got to choose where to shoot it, when to put in the special effects, and when and where to turn the camera angle. You could even put in your own CD and use it as your background music. It was just so fun!

Fash was so fun! There were so many styles to choose from. During that game I spent most of my time picking out clothes, because there were so many, it was hard to choose the perfect outfit. Catch a Wave was also a lot of fun. Sometimes it was hard to get pictures with them, but I liked it anyway. There were so many places you got to go. You followed the guys through the beach, the boardwalk, the movies, the garage, and a bunch more. It was kind of hard, though, because later in the game they start hiding from you and it's harder to get a picture. But I think that just makes the game more fun.

I also liked the little bonus feature where you could go and use the tokens you'd collected in the games, and if you won you could unlock something new, like a new type of clothing or runway in Fash, or a new dance move for Music Nation. This feature, for me, makes the games more interesting.

I wouldn't exactly recommend it for some people who are like 16 unless you like playing these games. If it's your first time trying out a Mary-Kate and Ashley game, you should probably rent a some sort of MK&A game before. Then if you like that, I suggest buying this game. I only say that because after a while it may get kind of boring. I mean if you look at all the reviews that say this game's boring, most of them are somewhere around that age. It would be a waste of money to go out and buy a game thinking it will be fun, then play it and find out it's boring or something. I think it's more of a game for people between ages 8-13, more or less. It's more "tween" oriented. But, after all that, I have to say that this is, hands down, the best game I have ever played. Not just of the MK&A games, but of all the games I've played. I definitely recommend it!

This game is so fun but kind of hard you can choose where you want to go in the mail you can even try to make it easy but what this game is realy about is winning all of the gem so mary-kate and Ashley wont be tripped in the mail for the rest of thier life but in the game your going to be in the fishon show, your goig to serve people, your going to snowbord, your going to take pictures of two boys, your going to dance and when you have a token you can go to the bonus to help you.

This game shows that the Olsen's can either be really cool, or really stupid. I got this game a while ago, and have ever since hated the thing. It is sooooooo boring! The graphics are not that great, the stuff you hafta do is mostly meaningless and stupid, and it is a waste of money. If you wanna get a good gmae, do not, i repeat, do not, get this piece of junk. Get Razor scooter freestyle, it is really awesome.

just plain boreing

This game isn't for younger kids, because it's pretty challenging, and it would bore them quickly. Some games I like some I didn't... It all depends where your interests lie. One game, you have to take pictures and pose with two lifeguard boys. It gets difficult because they get better at hiding from you, and you are scored on the direction they're looking, and how well you can see them. I thought it was pretty fun. Another game is a snowboarding game. It was fun for the first two rounds, but the last round got annoying. If you bump into a wall or anything, it's difficult to get going again, and you basically have no hope of winning the race. Collect snowflakes and unlock more snowboards. At the food court, you have to serve impatient guests the food they ask for. This gets annoying as your charactor is on rollerskates, so you don't end up where you want to be all of the time. There's a fashion game, where you can create 2-6 outfits for a fashion show. You pick hats/hairstyle, shirt, pants/skirt, and shoes. You pick their pattern and color, as well. Then you have to take pictures of the girls posing on the runway. I found this part a bit difficult, as I can never get the right angles. The last game is my favorite, one where you make your own dance video. You can pick your moves and even pop in your own CD and pick a track on it, so the girls can dance to punk rock, country, or whatever! Very great, and as you record the video, you choose special effects and camera angles. This part of the game is awsome I think. It worked out very well with the song I was using, and I wish I could've saved the dance. Overall, the game is challenging, but fun, and I sort of wish there were more activities. The replay value is OKAY on some games, but others it's just boring, and some of the walking around in the mall and other things run a bit choppy. I hope this review has helped!

I think this game was ok. I think it could of been a bit better. Music Nation and Catch a Wave and a few of the other levels are really hard!!!!! It is one of those games where it gets really frusterating after awhile. I did love Lizzys Lunch and i like Fash. I wish you could of done a little more on the game onces you beat the game like if you get extra stores or something. it was alright. i got it in september for my birthday and here it is november and i am kind of sick of it.
