We all love to shop, and most 10-15 year olds love the Olsen's! So this awesome video game for Playstation is all about the Olsen's shopping! And no, you don't sit and watch them shop, you shop too! Each store in the mall (there are over 35 stores,) is packed with cool chlothes, accesories, and even sports equiptment! Then, when it is time for lunch you head into the Food Court and it is immediatly transformed into a 50's dinner and MKA are on blades!

Hi my name is Jennifer. I got Mary Kate and Ashley last week for my birthday and I love it. I was making my christmas list on amazon looking for more games with them in it becuase I love Mary Kate and Ashley. It is so much fun to play. My fave part is the fashion show. You can dress them up in all different outfits and even change there hair styles. The best part of the game is that they look exactly like mary kate and ashley and you get to hear there real voices. My second fave part is the snowboarding level because i like to snow board and ski. this is my favorite game. i can't wait to get more mary kate and ashley games for christmas.

Way to go Mary-Kate & Ashley & Acclaim!

My wife and I purchased Mary-Kate & Ashley: Magical Mystery Mall last week and my daughters absolutley love this game! We think the graphics are great and the concept is terrific! Our daughters can't get enough of the game, and our son loves the snowboarding. We have been shopping for a title that we felt comfortable giving to our daughters and we love how they enjoy their new game. Thank you Amazon for letting us recommend this game, and to Acclaim for a real winner!!!

There are five stores in the mall. You get the gem from each store (by completing a task) to break the curse. Once you get all five gems, your done. There are no bonus levels. As you collect gems the other stores of the mall open up. Too bad you can't go into them. There is an information desk in case you need help and a Bonus Boutique where you can spin the wheel to either win or lose somthing. You can win things like bonus dance moves and stuff, to make another music video if you want. Lizie's Lunch (a diner in mall) is my least favorite "level" you have a certain amount af time to serve everyone thier lunch. At the fashion show you can pick from a wide variety of clothing items to dress either Mary-Kate or Ashley in, and then you take pictures at the fashion show. Its not a bad game, but there are many things that could be done to improve it. It is probably better for renting. It gets old fast.

Who ya gonna believe?

Which review will you, the potential buyer, believe?

1) A couple of tennage girls who have played the game 2) An adult male (Peter Staack) who attempts to contextualize the game within the social/marketing milieu.

Listen to the girls.

Its not great but its okay

I think that this game is all right but could have been ten times better than what it was. Everything you do gets really boring but you think its great fun on your first time playing it. The graphics are all right too and I say this game is fun especially for girls aged 6-9.

I put stock in focus groups, developers, and experience.

Mortal Kombat has proven that it doesn't take a good game to get critical acclaim from many sources including the media and a few kids down the street who value goofy animation over substance. There's no accounting for individual tastes...

But for general impressions, it's probably a good idea to at least consider the impressions of focus groups and professional developers who have years of experience catering to the same demographic. It's not just marketing witchcraft and catchphrase mumbo-jumbo, it's something that a handful of us have earned multiple college degrees to better understand. Many focus groups of all demographics have been recorded, at great expense for some smaller developers, to get accurate impressions of the audience. Yes, there are no 6-year old female electronic entertainment developers in the field, but many of use take great measures to empathize with the needs and desired of our audience as best as possible.

If you can appreciate dated graphics, a shallow interface, a plotline and premise that can be summarized in about 5 words, and repetitive gameplay (and that's completely acceptable, particularly for those who rent games, play game infrequently, or have limited exposure to games, which is actually a rare thing for this current generation male or female) by all means follow your heart.

Still, from the standpoint of many professional (though obviously not perfect for everyone) reviewers who have the good of the consumer in mind... it would be unfair to the majority, who might expect more from games they purchase, if these points weren't made before they invested.

Perhaps rent this game, play it for a weekend (IMHO there's about 6 hours of gameplay in here before it becomes old to even the most open mind) and see if it's worth buying.

Try again, Mary-Kate & Ashley

I think this game is a little too prissy and perfect. I mean, the graphics [are not very good]. And also, their legs are too skinny. No one would have sticks for legs, unless they're on stilts. And in one game, all you do is take pictures. And some games are almost impossible to beat, like Lizzie's Lunch, unless you've played them about ... oh, let's say around 20 OR 30 TIMES! And you have to play the games about five times each. All i'm saying is, it's better to rent this game, unless your an MK&A finatic.

Well, now that I've said everything bad about the game, I have to say something good, I guess. Well, their outfits are pretty good, I have to admit, and there's a lot of choices to pick from, so you don't usually end up picking the same one over and over again. And the graphics at the surfing place are pretty good. They remind me of the boardwalk in Santa Cruz, except for the skateboarding ramp. And no offense to Mary-Kate, but she should have kept her hair like Ashley's. When it's short and scraggly, it just doesn't look right. but, anyway, that has nothing to do with the game.

Well, I guess you've heard enough from me.

I Expected It To Be Better

I thought this game would be better than it was. The back made it sound soooo cool. The concept is cool but the actual game isn't.

There's one level where you snowboard. You go sooooo slow, it was tooo easy.

There's another one where you have to chase these boys and try to get a picture of them with you in it. That was boring and one shot was too hard to get.

The fashion show was actaully fun, it gives you lots of choices of cool clothing to dress the twins in and then you get to take pictures of them during a fashion show.

There's a food one where you work at a resterant and have all these customers coming up to you with their orders. You have to skate around and get them their order. This one really hurt my fingers (from pushing all the buttons) and went on for too long.

Lastly, I thought it would be soooo much fun to make my own dance video but it was not. It gives you a bunch of moves to choose from and you have to pick like ten. Then when you're actually shooting the video you have to do the effects but all it really is, is pushing the same button over and over. The video is impossible to get the jewl for, I don't know what they're looking for.

Overall I'd definently recommend renting this game before you buy it, who knows, you might even like it but the chances are you won't. I think all the other reviews on this page are from big Mary Kate and Ashley fans who don't want to admit that this game sucks.
