Jak and Daxter Rocks!!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2

You have to play it!It is so cool! It's rated E,but that's only because it's simple to play.It has a good story line to it and you experince the time of your life. It's of a different world, but someday my theoy is that our world might be like that. It's by Naughty Dog a company of 10 people. It's about a boy named Jak who was as care-free as could be, with his pal Daxter an ugly looking, funky haired, buck tooth animal. They go to Misty island and Daxter falls in a pit of dark eco.And that's the little furry dude you see on the cover. Now you have to find a guy to change him back.First you go into training, then the real thing. You collect powercells to make whatever it is run.Just a tip, if you collect all the powercells to the Red Sage's place you'll just about have your final amount. And don't tick of Simos. And if you really want to know my opoinin Daxter looks better after he came out of the black eco then before.Hope I was helpful.

Very, very good!

Right away, we loved Jak and Daxter. The introduction was WAY too long, but it gave you an idea what the game was about. It gets frustrating at times, but the camera angles are good and the loading times are fine. The plot is one of Naughty Dog's best ever. If you loved Crash Bandicoot on PS1, you'll love this game! We knew we wanted it the minute we tested it at the video game store. It is a great combonation between strategy and skill. The graphics and sound effects are awesome. The length of time it takes to win is perfect and it isn't ridiculously hard, like other games, yet it is slightly challenging. This is a great game. We totally recommend it!!

ONE OF THE BEST

I hesitated on buying this game for some time, based on the fact that it seemed to be made for a younger audience. But, I needed a new game and gave it a go. I expected an easy game with lame jokes, but what I got was an in-depth, fun, exciting, and some-what challenging epic adventure/game. This is what PS2 is about, and this is what I have been expecting. This game is like the Zelda for PS2, it wastes Maximo, Crash, and all of the dark and mysterious games like Max Payne that seem so depressing. This game is light-hearted and fun, everyone who plays will love it.
I reccomend this game for everyone, and it starts off kind of lame, but oh no! just hold in there! It's a lot of fun.

Fun!

Jak & Daxter is a short, but sweet game for PS2. It borrows lots of things from other games of its type, but combines them all together to make it feel new. You play as Jak, and your companion Daxter, helps you perform some moves and help you in your quest. Sadly, Daxter can't be controlled separatly from Jak. The game is very easy to play. Once again, Sony is the king of the controls department, and this game really proves it. The gameplay is fun too, you punch, roll, and use power ups called eco on your enemies to defeat them. For some odd reason- this game didn't hook me enough to want to go back and get 100%. Thats very sad, because most platformers should do that. The graphics in this game are up with the PS2's best, as it uses a huge draw distance (how far you can see) and lots of colorful characters and scenery. The sounds are very cool, they blend in perfectly with the environments, and the voice acting for the characters suits them very well too. But how come Jak doesn't talk? The game uses a daytime/nighttime system. This is kind of a win and loss, since it makes the game have a realistic, and cool feeling to it, yet the nightime effects change the gameplay in no way whatsoever. Basically you go around collecting things, like in other platformers, your main object is power cells. There are also some minigames such as fishing, riding an A-Grav Zoomer (a futuristic hovering motorcycle type thing), and a few more. I was a bit disappointed that there weren't too many minigames though. Heres the biggest flaw though: the game is WAY TO SHORT. I mean, it can be beat in 9 hours. Thats WAAY too short for a platformer. And like I mentioned, it doesnt really hook you (or me at least) to go back and get 100%. After beating it once, it is kind of fun to go back and start a new file, or maybe pick it up once and awhile, but you won't be spending as much time with it, guaranteed. The camera is suprisingly good in Jak & Daxter, I saw no problems. And its easy to rotate it to. This is a VERY FUN GAME. It makes a good overall purchase, but it makes an EXCELLENT rental. Its your call.
MY SCORE: 85/100

THE BEST PLATFORMER EVER!

This is the best platformer of all time. Simply put, no other game can contend with this games replayabilty, graphics and loading time. You can easily pump out 45+ hours of gameplay without beating all of it. The graphics are super and the water effects are supreme. The air flows thorough the characters hari, giving them an unsurpassed life likeness. You never, ever experience any loading times. All this for only $$$. You cannot beatthe price considering over 800,000 humans paid $$$ for it. I highley recomend this game as it is perfect for younger children and adults alike.

Addictive and awesome!

The first PS2 game I had bought and was able to finish without a walkthrough or guide book. The game revolves around you, Jack. And your best friend Daxter who was pushed into the dark-eco and turned into a weasle-type creature.
Your mission in the game is to collect pre-cursors which you can find just about everywhere and use them to buy these orbs that you will require to reach new worlds. You must battle your way up to stop the main villians from taking over the world with dark-eco! The fighting is awesome! Your in total control and will have loads of fun with the combo attacks you and Daxter can do. Accomplishing trivival tasks for villagers will earn you orbs as well, and you need all the orbs you can get. The start-menu will show you all that you've missed, what you need to get and where, the levels you've been to; ect. It's a short game if you know what your doing and it really turned me onto PS2. Dont listen to these reviewers trying to scare you and tell you how hard it is, because it's not! It's actually 'perfect'. Not too hard, not too easy- the only disapointment is the way the game ends. But everything in bewteen beginning and end 'iz all good!!

The music is good (could be better) because it can get annoying after a while so I recommend you break out those CDs and down the volume ALL-the-way down on your TV to get you in the mood while you play! Also I had wished that the main villians in the game would have been more difficult to beat, because they're almost too easy.

But all-in-all the game is all-out pure PS2 fun! 3 out of 5 (due to the obvious that I have explained)
But the strange and interesting characters, comic-relief, battle-goodness, and just the game's plot in general. You'll fall in love with it! The graphics are amazing and like I've said before your battle abilities are a mayjor TURN-ON!

This is a MUST-HAVE for all PS2 gamers.

Jack and Daxter is an excellent game with great graphics. It is very adventurous and has a great story line. Collect things, help people, save a village or 2, complete puzzles, make the choice of life and...you've got Jack and Daxter.
It's AMAZING!

When I first started this game it was a little frustrating but once I got pretty far, I started to think it was pretty exciting. I'm 90% done with the game now. Jak and Daxter is a pretty difficult game but once you get the hang of the game it gets pretty cool. The characters are awesome and you play in a world beyond your wildest dreams! Buy this game whenever you can.

This game is great fun for all ages. Yes, it can get difficult once you get to Misty Island. But getting there is very interesting and exciting. I haven't finished the game yet but have gotten to Misty Island via a rented unit with no memory card so I had to start all over again every I needed to quit the game and start again. My kids are ages 7-18 and ALL of us loved the game!! I'm buying the game for them for Christmas. Koodos to whoever invented this game!!
