Only for GODFATHER fans

This is a good game for anyone who is a big fan of the movie. It kind of includes you in to the story. But it has ZERO replay value, is limited in the visuals. Different parts of the maps look like all the others and the interiors are the same 5 or 6 recycled over and over. You really can't tell if you have been somewhere or not, it is that similiar. Only about 5 different cars to drive, and only slight diff. in the handling of them. Once you get through the regular game, which is pretty quick, you have a few other quests and then thats it. No way to control the outcome of the game. Calling it a GTA clone is an insult. To GTA!

I love this game!! r

-Shooting is easier,more fun,reliable,just as challenging(maybe more),lots of blood.
-Character is bigger, more part of the game, better environments than GTA
-Waaay more businesses...then theres rackets to extort, lotsa fun..you get to smash up their store.
-Hand to hand fighting is the most fun..many moves,so graphic and cool, try it you'll see.
While most vidiots are caught up with GTA's or RPGs, this game will become a gem that most people will pass by..who cares ..I love it! Way to go EA! One more thing ,dont listen to the reviews that say this game is too short...theres LOTS to do,many hours of gameplay...fun gameplay.

how many grand theft auto games do we need, exactly?

if you've played grand theft auto, you've played this game. which i guess is good if you really love GTA and want to keep playing it again and again. it's the same even down to the map and having a safehouse. "bully" was a GTA ripoff too, but at least it had new interesting characters and story.. it would be nice if they made a godfather game in a different way.

This game is awesome. It's similar to GTA in the fact that you have control to walk around the city and steal cars, but then again it is also much more then GTA in the fact that you extort tons of businesses, take over warehouses and complete missions that are much more involved then GTA. You should definatley but this game!!!

Fun, but only for two or three days.

This game is a lot of fun at first, but then it is just the same thing over and over and over and over again. All the buildings are the same and the guards are in the exact same position every time. So once you win over one neighborhood, winning over the remaining four can be very boring. I still finished all the missions and hits, but 100% completion seemed pointless.

An offer you can't refuse

When I heard that The Godfather was going to be made into a videogame, I was skeptical. Movie based games either turn out really good or flat out bad and usually it is the later. However after seeing the reviews for The Godfather, I decided to go pick it up. I must say I was impressed. The game allows you to free roam through NY and the landscape is quite big. Unlike GTA though, this game is more focussed on taking over the city. By doing this you must buy out rackets, raid rival families' warehouses, extort bussinesses, and destroy rival mob compounds. If you enjoyed the GTA games, I strongly recommend getting this.

Awesome

I loved this game so much! The killing in it is nice and brutel and bloody. The execution kills are fantastic. Not for kids. It's my favorite killin game. Although some of the buildings are repetitive the action movies and relavence towards the movie is quite remarkable. They show more then regular TV would ever allow lol.

Better than expected

Classic movies are turning up remade into video games more and more lately (From Russia With Love, Scarface, Reservoir Dogs) with varying degrees of quality. The Godfather on the other hand manages to offer a bit more than the typical GTA style of play though, thanks to the labor of love put into the game by the developers to involve you in the world of the Corleone family as much as possible. You play as an all new character who is an unofficial enforcer for the family, and as you play through you get to see how seamlessly weaved you become in the story of Francis Ford Coppola's classic film. The game utilizes the GTA-style of gameplay, but not to utter ridiculousness. There is a small bit of strategy involved here throughout the game's legthy missions, which feature enemy AI that fluctuates between dumb and incredibly difficult. The game's interrogation system is unique, and the 1940's New York you travel through looks great. Not to mention that the main character models look very good, and the voice acting is great too. All that being said, the Godfather is not without it's share of flaws. While driving around New York is great, the insides of areas all pretty much look the game, while there is a choppy frame rate and occasionally glitchy camera too. That aside, the Godfather is a better than expected game that does it's license justice, and one of the all the more rare times that EA has put a lot of effort into one of their releases.
