The best PS2 game released yet

Well, I don't know what was wrong with me, always up on video games, but it took me a while to play this one. Why? Capcom....But, no. This game is different. It's fun, enjoyable, great gameplay, great graphics. Basically, what isn't great about it, the story could've been touched up a bit, but what the story lacks, everything else makes up for, either way, I'd give the story nine out of ten, everything else, 10 out of 10. The music...simply great. The music while you're fighting is absolutely sweet. When you're looking around, the music matches the environment around you,. and that, is a good thing. The gameplay is incredibly fun, the attacks are really sweet and they make you want to go back and forth killing everything until you can upgrade your weapons and buy new moves...GTA3, great, Jak and Daxter, the second best game on the PS2, and Final Fantasy X, the absolute best game ever. My advice, buy this game, and all the others above, except Metal Gear Solid 2, which [was] so bad I almost threw it away. And I would've if I hadn't rented it. So buy this game because it's absolutely sweet...

Capcom's masterpiece

It is the best ever. The main character Dante has to ward off gothic, morbid creatures with his two guns and sword. If that isn't enough he can actually turn into a devil! Plus the gameplay is amazing and the graphics are crisp. Hey this is from Capcom the masters of Resident Evil. What more can be said!

I bought the game the first day it came out, primarily based on the fact that onimusha was DA BOMB. I got home and I played it and I was like "This is the BEST PS2 game EVER" It is sooooo good that i recommend buying a ps2 for this game. You can jump (unlike onimusha), you can buy moves, find/buy around ten different weapons (guns + swords) each with different capabilities. It is a tough game (don't be a weiner and play easy mode) and it's a challenge. It's mission based (it sounds like 'beat level 1, onto level 2' but it's not. You are in the same mansion but you're just accomplishing stuff...), there are secret places to enter to activate secret missions, you can unlock new modes as you beat the game, each with a special feature (positive or negative). I believe you unlock up to 4 or five modes. The first time you beat the game, you unlock Hard Mode, beat hard mode, unlock sumthing like Super Dante Mode or sumthing and so forth. ANewayz, this is a MUST get game and it is rated at a 9.6 out of ten at codes.ign.com, which is the second highest rating out of recently released game (top game, rated 9.8 is Gran Tourismo 3, but it's only for car fanatics...) so GET IT!!!!!!!!! Do not take into consideration the druggies that rated this at 3 stars or less. THIS IS an AWESOME GAME. MUST MUST MUST GET!!!!! HAVE A BLAST

At first when I heard about DMC i thought it was going to be awesome, it was. i beat it on easy mode in 4 hours... then i decided to beat it on normal, i got up to mission 16 and just got bored of it. it repeats itself also. run, shoot, slash, stab. the graphics are amazing, but the gameplay isnt.i would reccomend only renting this one, but dont be fooled, it looks like an awesome game that u wont get tired of, but it gets boring so fast you will wan your money back the next day.

A Must Play Game...

This game is one of the best games I have played. The game play is fast and graphics are superb. I really like the different ways to attack and kill the villains. The only drawbacks are: 1. Some of the cameras angles can cause you trouble, especially while fighting. 2. I don't like the concept of have into pay for weapons and enhancements. The main character should evolve though time and take weapons from the main enemy. If you own a PS2 and like action packed games, then Devil May Cry is a must own.

I started out playing this game and thinking that it would be your everyday devil killing game, but i was wrong. I played It for 24 Hours strait. i beat the game in one day. on the game it said 20 hours! this is a must get game and if you can't get it, at least try it. it is one of those games where your sitting there thinking, ok no demons here but all of a sudden somethin will pop outta nowhere and start beating the living (...) outta u. If you want the truth, it is a, yes bloody, but still ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER!!

... when they realize they shelled out ($) for a game they finish in about 7 or 8 hours. Good graphics (not AWESOME... just good), but the controls can be tricky. You can complete it in the span of a 5-night rental at Blockbuster.

What a 3-D Castlevania should be

The lastest ...game from Capcom is Devil May Cry. This game is one of the coolest action games you will ever play. To start with the lead character Dante is the coolest protagonist on digital media. He is like Claire Redfield, Lara Croft, and Simon Belmont all rolled into one. His movement are the best ever in an action game. He can leap, roll, run, walk, and bounce off the wallls like a crazy banchee.

Dante's weapons are cool too. He has dual automatic pistols as well as a huge freaking sword. He can use any of them with lighting fast speed and surgical precision. The combos you can link with these two weapons are pretty much limitless.

The graphics are simply stunning. The game uses a fixed camera view, so it a lot like Resident Evil. The castles are gothic style architecture, and the game is like what a Next-generation Castlevania should be.

My only complaint is that the world is so beautiful and you are stuck exploring it through a mission-stlye interface instead of a free flowing free exploration interface. I wished the game was set up with a "central hub" like Soul Reaver.

All in all, however, the game is quite stunning. It is a lot like Oniumusha, but your character is a lot cooler. It is the first time in a fixed camera game, that I know of, that the character can move and attack at the same time. This is very sweet! Resident Evil should incorporate this action into their series. You also have a lot more manueverability than in Onimusha or Resident Evil. Anyone who loves action should pick up Devil May Cry.

AMAZING

simply put, this game is amazing. the graphics are very nice and theres actually some nice architecture in this game. as for the gameplay, its just plain addicting. you have to acually analize your enemies attacks and weaknesses, and there are so many different moves dante can learn, youll never tire of the combat system. the story is interesting, and dante is a great charachter. there are loads of boss fights, many secret orbs to find, and stradegies to use. i enjoyed this as much as mgs2. Just one thing, play it on normal, not easy. on easy, they take out like 3 of the enemies cause thier apparently to hard. and no stradegy is required to beat enemies, espeacially bosses.

Even the Devil May Cry because of the challege.

First, let me start off by saying that this one challenging game(even playing through it in the easy automatic mode). The overall look of the game,is a gothic wet-dream (I could spend hours just walking around looking at the Castlevanian beauty in the level design) and the enemies always seem to have a new trick up their slimy sleeves each time you run into them. The character designs are fantastic, with the exception of Trish(just keep those sunglasses on,babe),who could've been handled with a little more "grace in the face"if you catch my meaning. Is Dante prettier?Perhaps. Every so often the camera angles will get in your way, but nowhere near as bad as Onimusha. You'll prbably find yourself skipping the cut-scenes after the first time playing through the game. This is probably due to the (...) dialogue and the silly plot. But none of these faults detract from the overall experience. This game is meant to be an action game not a Hemingway novel, and it certainly suceeds in that department(the action dept.,that is). There are plenty of secrets to uncover, and the variety in gameplay will keep you from being a responsible person in the real world, for at least a week or two.I really enjoyed this game, and I'm sure anyone who gives it a shot, will also.
