my brother got me hooked to need for speed series i have to say...

the graphics are amazing, cars are great..

after i have played NFSU 2,the first game is still harder to play compared to the the second one and more challenging...

the music tracks are great, you can really feel the music pulsating when driving the cars, your hands are shaking with excitement when reaching the finishing line....:]

it is addictive and i recommend it to those who love fast cars..

The underground mode has 112 races in it and by the time you take to complete it, you will a good knowledge of what street racing fanatics live for.
The graphics are superb. The blur option can induce some weird feelings if you are sensible. Everything has a coat of shine that reflects on everything. The opponents are difficult but fortunately you can adjust the difficulty settings for each race.
I will give you one tip. Late in the races, if you have any difficulty winning, take off all the upgrades in your car. Your opponents will do the same and you should be faster that all of them. However, do not make too much mistakes because they will catch you up pretty fast.
There is so much parts and vinyls to unlock that you can spend a lot of time to personalize your car.
I did not try the online mode however.

Excellence Finally!

Now this game is really awsome, a little short, but non the less awsome. The graphics in it are so advanced that it blows my mind. Best game in a long time.

Not the best, but still good.

Feeling a little bored....i went out and decided to get myself a good game to kill some time. As os such, NFS:Underground was the latest hype, so I picked up one and brought it home.
The installation was a breeze, and in no time i was already playing the game.
After playing it for two weeks now, i have this to say to any future owners.

First of all, this game looks familiar with NFS: Porshe Unleashed. Yeah, maybe just a little.....the part where you race and win upgrades and unlock tracks. But the rest of it, including gameplay is totally different.
You start off as a rookie with you first un-modified car...then as you make your way up the "rankings" you will get the chance to modify your car, and race with experienced drivers.
Well, basically that's the whole game for you....does it sound boring....well i sure hope not because here comes the interesting part of the game.
Remember the 'rankings", well as you make your way up, the competition becomes tough, and to win isn't the only thing. You will have to cope with them and boy they are really tough. More often than not, this is where your hands would be a bit sweaty as the adrenalin rush gets to you. Run fast hit a traffic....and you lose the race. You see this what a racing game should act like.....it's all about adrenalin rush!

The only down part i can see, is that the graphics are so-so, the car occasionally floats on air (when you hit something at high speeds or when driving on bumpy roads) which is typical of NFS games, and it lacks the game-physics of Porshe Unleashed (So,Don;t expect your bumpers to get dented.)
Much of this come to say, i can live with because the game handling is superb and the sound is fantastic. I can live with this as long as it is a racing game.

So bottom line: Get this game if you want to Kill some time and enjoy a sweaty race full of adrenalin rush at the same time.
BUT for a more COMPLETE racing expereince, got get Porshe Unleashed. Or BETTER still, go get both, either way u can't be wrong....you got my word!

Unfinished Game?

I was excited when the game shipped to my front porch and quickly installed it on to my shiney new comp. I was very dissapointed to find out that this game is HALF done! First of all, There aren't many cars in this game, probably 20 max. And over half of them are old and ugly! Second, there are no police persuits. What kinda STREET RACING game is this?!

A lot of little kids find the graphics SO REAL, but if you've played other racing games like me, you'll notice how crappy the graphics are. This game also disables the crowds in the background if you don't have the RIGHT graphics card, which is totally STUPID. I have a GeForce 4, how is that not good enough for it?

The audio is ok. Pretty realistic, but the music is basically ALL HARDCORE ROCK. It doesn't match the game at all.

Worst part of all, this game lacks an important thing in racing games. MAPS!! I've been racing in the same maps over and over and over AND OVER again! Theres probably only 10 maps in this game, and they try to cheat us by reversing the maps (so it seems like there's 20 maps). Wow, they must think we're stupid...

I wouldn't recommend this game at all.

A Must have for racers

I was drawn to this game because of the cars and the customizations available, and I was highly satisfied.

There are so many options in this game, most of which you will enjoy, and you even get bonuses for having a pimped out ride. While I think sound system parts and interior upgrades would have ben nice, the custommization of cars is a game inside itself.

The actual game is almost as fun, the racing is fast paced, action packed, and so much fun. However the keyboard controls are soem what clunky, and steering with the left and right arrows just doesnt cut it very well. This is quickly remedied with a steering wheel or USB controller.

I recommend this to anyone who likes cars and raceing games. And at $18 there isn't a reason not to pick this one up.

The best street racing game ever!

I thought this game was great. I have been playing I for 2 months now. That's saying something. It's that much fun!

It's very fun to play, but...

Well everyone knows that the game is fun to play, it's more like going to the arcade but without the coin wasting. That's the kind of experience this game offers. I can't deny that it is kind of addicting and keeps you entertained and coming back for more, but it lacks some important things like a replay option to watch how you did, more variety in the tracks (they're all variations of the same city always at night) and better cars (not just the ones you can see everyday on the street). There are some bugs but none that I found too annoying, and there IS traffic but hey, the whole idea behind the theme of the game is illegal street racing, so luck IS in fact a major ingredient in the game.

I also agree with the fact that the game could use a better car tuning feature, with a better use of the money system, since it is pretty simlpe and sometimes pointless. Anyway, it IS fun, although quite simple, like playing the arcade like I said before.

50/50

NFS Underground is a fun continuation of the Need For Speed series. The graphics are pretty good and the atmosphere of the whole game in general is pretty neat.

The customization of your vehicle is possibly one of the best features of the game. There are infinite combinations of colors, paints and other stuff that will truly make your car unique.

Unfortunately, the Single-Player mode of the game does get slightly boring. The settings of the races are always in the same place and you have the impression you're always doing the same race track (which is basically what you are!). Also, the AI is so-so at best and there are some levels in the game that get really boring (7 laps!!!!)

In short, it's a fun game but be prepared to get bored after a while of playing!

Simply amazing but could've been much better

This game is just amazing. The graphics are really good. you can actually feel driving the car, even if you're using the arrow keys on your keyboard. WARNING!!! This game is addictive WARRNING!! and yet worth getting addicted to it. well, enough with the pos.
let's get to the Cons:
1)I don't know what they were thinking!!! This game, with such a great graphic, NO REPLAY!!! That was one of the best things I loved about it to watch me play the game as a third person. BUT again this is my personal idea. someone else might not even care about this feature.
2)There is no DAMAGE!!! You hit a wall and during drag rasing with a speed around 220 Mph. and NOTHING! well, yes, you can say if you hit something during drag racing you're behind and practically lost the game but what about everything else? what about other kinds of races! You crash the car a million times and you're still up and runnin.
So I believe it could've been way more fun if they had a added a feature that you would damage the car and have to pay for it to fix it. NOW the only thing u pay for is upgrades!!! well, that sure ain't true.

BUT IN THE END, this game is totally fun. much much better graphics than before. Exciting tracks. U WONT get bored. even if u do, u can go online and play with other's.
