Great Gunslinging Co-Op Game Playing Action!!

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 0 / 0

Well worth the wait. The game control is pretty good, the options set up is nice with the ability to adjust the texture & visuals of the game. With a combination of ideas snatched from various other action shooter games all put into this game makes Army Of Two a sure plus to be in the top ten in the action genre for some time. From the Kane & Lynch gun swapping, Gears of War partner recovery, grenade throwing to Rainbow Six gun customizing and even a little Stranglehold John Woo slow motion action. With the addtion of having their own originality included. Army Of Two turned out to be a great shooter. The virtual map*(GPS*)is really helpful to see where to go & great to spot proximity mines. The game can be beaten in about 5-8 hours depending what level you're own. Beating the game on novice or normal will only unlock all primary weapons but to unlock ALL weapons you have to beat it on the highest difficulty level.
Actually I think like Kane & Lynch the game is harder with a live player then it is with the AI running with you. All I can say is EA came out with this title two weeks before Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will be released. Enjoy this great shooter now because I think for people like myself will put this in second place once Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is released. Great co-op! Worth getting and holding on to.

Game play is fine not to quirky that I was able to find without looking for bugs. Does the coop part well. The lack of depth and length of this game makes it a short one night game. In my opinion rent it or wait for a price drop.

A break through for co-op games- lacking multi player

I like a lot a other people went out a bought Army Of Two right after it came out. I was not expecting Halo or Call of Duty grade games, I really wanted a break from those and Army of Two did just that. When I loaded up the first mission with the Partner AI it was amazing, he responds very well the commands are easy to issue just tap the d-pad once for passive and 2 times for aggressive, three commands which are regroup halt and go forward. The gameplay with real people online s very fun. It gets very intense. The gun customizing is so much fun you can have a gold plated G36c with a shot guns and shield on it. Not to mention the chain guns. After completing the fairly long story mode with a great ending I was so happy i bought the game. My happiness however was sucked away when I loaded up multi player. With only three game types Warzone,Bounty, and Extraction it lacks anything really fun. When you get in a fun firefight with the other team the computer controlled players just sneak up behind you and kill you. The meelee is a one hit kill and gets very old and not cool after a few beat downs. You will find yourself yelling "I HIT HIM FIRST" over and over. Counter Strike style you upgrade as you go gun wise, this is not good because when the other team gets enough money they all buy chain guns and mow you down. They could have had such a fun multi player all they needed was death match and assault. I played it alot with my friends and we all came to the same conclusions AMAZING campaign mode but multi player was not done right at all, which sucks because they pushed it back so much. Anyway i beat campaign and sold it to a friends I would rent or borrow for campaign.

Oh..... what could have been

3 star fun only applies to co-op campaign, if not for that it would be significantly less fun.

EA could have really had something with this title, but then again, they are EA. A game centrally focused on 2 player co-op is one of the things the gaming community has been crying out for, and we almost had it.

This game is a mixed bag of goods, as most 3 star games are. Below you will find my ratings breakdown for the game:

OVERALL: 3 stars.
A game worth playing, but only one time through, and no extended play time can be found from the multiplayer experience.

Gameplay: 3 stars.
The best gameplay feature is the overkill, which is a state your player enters when a meter becomes full because of firing a weapon repeatedly capped off by elimanating an enemy, and it gives you 2x weapons damage and makes your partner go unnoticed briefly. It's a unique feature that plays out very well. It even bring some low level strategy into the game because you can order your partner AI to shoot enough where he will eneter overkill and put you into a stealth mode where you can rack up some kills.

The worse features include spotty parnter AI (if you get to far ahead of him, he sometimes gets stuck and you have to backtrack and get him), and poor aiming/weapon interface.

Graphics: 4 stars.
Overall, the graphics are above average.

Multiplayer: 1 star.
Way too much lag, and many times you can't even finish a match.

On a final note the achievements are pretty easily had except for 1 multiplayer achievement.

This is one of those games you go back and forth on; One minute you are totally involved, the next totally frustrated. I enjoyed much of this game, especially some of the levels and graphics. The back to back shooting was a cool new trick, and your partner actually seems to help you in the single player mode. My problem was with the seemingly constant on screen prompts that come up right in the middle of the action; I also found some of the 'command' buttons to be a chore when you were under heavy fire. I suppose you could eventually master them, but someone just picking the game up to play would have some difficulties. My major problem w/this game is that it's not always user friendly. Perhaps a control scheme similar to the Tom Clancy games in terms of dealing w/your 'better half' would have been more suiting. Don't dumb it down, but make it a little more logical. Very good graphics and controls well overall, but commanding your 'computer partner' can be a pain. I should note this review is based solely on the single player mode w/out an actual person playing Rios. Also, I thought the single player campaign was too short. A rental at best.

Overall this is a great game simply because it is amazing the only bad thing is that the story line is sort of predictable but the weapon customization is good

Great game, few if any noticable defects, Co-Op is the best I have seen in awhile, fun weapon systems, but why cant you sell your old unused ones? More mods for weapons and deeper game play I would expect from a second Army Of Two, but what will they call it? Army Of Two 2? Fun story line, but you'll only wanna play it once(and a half), Xbox Live recommended if you like investing in a game you will play for a long time. Cant say I regret buying it, you wont either.

A fantastic game - for about two weeks

This game is really fun. Upgrading weapons, then killing enemies with a friend is a blast. The problem is that the campaign is only 6 levels long (I beat it in one night) and once you beat it once or twice through, there's no point in going back. Multiplayer is all right, but once again it won't keep you coming back.

Rent this game, you'll save money and you'll have plenty of fun.

Worth the buy

Great 3rd person shooter. Decent plot, plenty of bad guys and they pay you to kill people. Plays alot like Gears of War, without chainsaw bayonets. Unable to play the online stuff right now so I can't say much about that, however single player and split-screen coop were enough to keep me entertained for some time. Something I'll definatly pick back up again, ESPECIALLY when I can have access to xbox live.

Excellent game!
Exciting, challenging, with a lot of replay value.
Even after beating the game, you still want to play.
Well worth the money.
