Test Drive 6 Very Good Dreamcast Game

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 2

I just purchased Test Drive 6 last night and I am really enjoying the game. The graphics and gameplay are very good. I haven't gotten too far into the game yet (I am still racing Class 1 cars), but I like the betting model that the game uses for racing. Basically you wager a certain number of credits in order to enter a race and then the top 3 finishers win a portion of the purse. The only drawback to the game seems to be that the framerate tends to slow down a little more than I would like, although by no means does it significantly detract from the enjoyment of the game. If you are looking for a very solid racing game I would recommend Test Drive 6.

Where are the dents and scratches?

Test Drive 6 has amazing graphics, which should be expected. Also the scenery was well done, but what happened to all the dent's and scratches when you've been side-swiped or hit a bump going 180 MPH and smash into a wall. I think that it would be a much better game if they had included damage to the exterior which would make you a more cautious driver. In turn, would make the game more fun and difficult.

I expected more.

The graphics in this game are pretty good, as you would expect on the Dreamcast, but the rest of the game is a dissappointment. Most of the tracks seem as narrow as bike paths and have walls on both sides which make the player feel like a mouse moving through a maze. The cars don't feel like real cars, and they seem to steer from the rear wheels and not the front. After playing SPEED DEVILS this game feels like Pole Position 2. If you want a racing game that looks and feels awesome pick up SPEED DEVILS.

How can a company actually publish a piece of garbage like this and expect it to compete on the same level as Need for Speed? The graphics and vehicle control is horrible. If they would have only spent as much time on the game itself as they did the introductory movie, then they might have something.

Do yourself a favor and buy Need for Speed instead of this complete piece of garbage.

I love this game!

I'll admit that it does a few short comings. Its a direct port and doesnt take advantage of the platform, but not many games do right now. Other than that this game is highly addictive. I've played 5 hours non-stop the other day.

When I first was looking at this game ..., the game seemed really cool. So when I first turned on the game I saw the movies that the game plays. And I got all sykied up and I thought that thoes were the grafics but I was wrong. The grafics are not the best, but it does not matter because the gameplay is awsome. You must beet levels and objecstives to get money. As you race cops chase you and they can give you tickets. There is also a mode where you can be the cop and give the racers tickets (this mode is also in two players). Also you make bets(this means if you win the race, you will get all of the money that went into the pot). And when you have enough money you can buy new cars. You have a choice from the newest cars (1999) to some of the clasic cars. When you get enough money to buy a new car, you can paint the car and buy better parts (engines, brakes, and shocks)to improve the performance of your car. Test Drive 6 aslo has really cool music for each of the tracks. So far this game is one of my favorites and I hope to get this for Christmas.

I played this game not long ago and let me tell you it was great! It has more cars, more modes, and more coarses then all the other games out on the market. You can just race or be a police racing down the streets of New York or in the country side in Ireland giving racers tickets and earining money to by better cars. Speaking of the cars it has an excellent seletion such as an Audi or an old fasion car. The only bad thing to this game is the music but during the game you probobly won't even notice it because of the nonstop action. That is why i give this game 5 stars.

Very Fun, But Not At Its Full Potential

This is an awesome racing game, but with sorry graphics. The cars are very cool, but again the graphics pretty much stink in this game. THe handling is very hard, until you upgrade your car, which makes the game kinda bad too. I would reccomend Tokyo Extreme Racing or Crazy Taxi over this one.

Test Drive 6: Poorly Designed & Boring, An Adult Review

My hunch is that this is arcade game software that was rushed over to work on a Dreamcast. The problem is that one is not using the controls of a arcade game, but those of the DC controller. The cars are more than hypersensitive to the input controls of the toggle switch -- you can barely steer the cars. So, racing is only feasible between two players and even then it's more a matter of who gets into the fewest speed-slowing accidents. A frustrating, ultimately boring game. There are better racing games for DC. (HydroThunder, Star Wars I)

When I first played this game on playstation, it was ok. But after I played it on Dreamcaster my jaw dropped. The graphics are the same;everthing. No net play, nothing. The cars don't feel right, but good sound. The game has some of pros. and alot of cons. I listed alot of the cons. above, but its fun. Its fun to bluid up your car. All tho the game is cheap, i would save ... and get Test Drive; La Mans or Test Drive; V-Rally.
