OHH MY GOODNESS this is by far the best game I have ever played. With possibly the best graphics for any dreamcast game and definetly the most the fun. This game is a must for anybody who loves racing games or doesn't. The best feature has to be the "all unit al's" the active police force that try's to bring you down for your wild driving antics. With some of the most breathtakingly realistic courses and cars this game is the besat sega has to offer. I have playaed Segas other racing games and this is by far better than any of them. Buy It!

THIS GAME IS AWESOME

I've had the last two Test Drives on the playstation, so I'm able to actually compare those to TD6, and let me tell you, there is no comparison. The graphics are so smooth it's unreal, no choppiness, just solid racing. And the cities, just wait till you see these, I just want to watch someone else race so I can look at the scenery. There are so many changes like the upgrade mode on your car that I keep making arrests and taking the challenges just to earn the money to upgrade my car. You won't be sorry, take my word for it. I waited for this one for a while and it was so worth it. THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY DREAMCAST OWNER.

Test Drive 6 Very Good Dreamcast Game

I just purchased Test Drive 6 last night and I am really enjoying the game. The graphics and gameplay are very good. I haven't gotten too far into the game yet (I am still racing Class 1 cars), but I like the betting model that the game uses for racing. Basically you wager a certain number of credits in order to enter a race and then the top 3 finishers win a portion of the purse. The only drawback to the game seems to be that the framerate tends to slow down a little more than I would like, although by no means does it significantly detract from the enjoyment of the game. If you are looking for a very solid racing game I would recommend Test Drive 6.

Fun for Arcade Racing Fans

Test Drive 6 is a fun game, but only if you like arcade racing. Remember Cruisin' USA...this is it times 10. Real cars that can be upgraded and painted. Of course they have the cop chases, alah Need for Speed, tournament racing, and single races. This is no Grand Turismo and anyone that is buying a race game for realism should go elseware. If you like arcade fast pace racing this is one to go with. The music is a plus too. The title theme is Cars by Fear Factory and other bands like Kotten Mouth Kings and Eve Six show up. Only one other problem I have with the game is that the 2 player split screen is vertical. I can't see where the next corner is.

I expected more.

The graphics in this game are pretty good, as you would expect on the Dreamcast, but the rest of the game is a dissappointment. Most of the tracks seem as narrow as bike paths and have walls on both sides which make the player feel like a mouse moving through a maze. The cars don't feel like real cars, and they seem to steer from the rear wheels and not the front. After playing SPEED DEVILS this game feels like Pole Position 2. If you want a racing game that looks and feels awesome pick up SPEED DEVILS.

great game, bad sound

i wasnt sure what game i would want for christmas. i knew i wanted a racing game. i didnt want sega rally 2 because im not into 2 minute races and no depth. im glad i went with test drive 6. the graphics are what i expected from the dreamcast. but it would have been nice if they were a little better. the control took a while to get right. i had to adjust the suspension on all my cars so they would turn good enough. but once i got them right, i couldnt lose, but it was still challenging. the only big problem i found was the sound. the effects werent realistic at all, they seemed a little sparse too.

not bad but not up to par

first i was very interested in the fact that you could up grade your car, always a plus. the learning curve was only about 15 minutes, but after that it was very enjoyable but i do have some complaints, first the sound of the cars was terrible, a 1968 mustang doesn't sound like a honda on extacy, first it was all deep and throaty then it became high pitched like it had a 4 cylinder in it, big disappointment. second you could only choose dodge and ford cars, what a rip! what ever happened to chevy or god forbid a porsche. i was sad to see so many stinking lotus' cars, one or two would have sufficed. i also think this is a Cruisin' USA on steriods but 100 times faster, and nothing like gran turismo. the speed of some tracks are just amazing how fast they fly by, very exciting. graphics are very nice, but i would have liked to seem some damage on my car, ya know like desruction derby, but i don't think the people at infogames didn't think about that. music is very very very nice, love fear factory, eve 6 and its about time cottonmouth kings got some airplay! i would rather listen to gary numan than the horrible sounds of the engines in this game, but still an exciting very fast paced game. lets see DC get something to compete with GT 'cause i'm sick of mouching of my friends playstation when i KNOW my DC is better by far!

Where are the dents and scratches?

Test Drive 6 has amazing graphics, which should be expected. Also the scenery was well done, but what happened to all the dent's and scratches when you've been side-swiped or hit a bump going 180 MPH and smash into a wall. I think that it would be a much better game if they had included damage to the exterior which would make you a more cautious driver. In turn, would make the game more fun and difficult.

Out of the Ordinary

I played this game not long ago and let me tell you it was great! It has more cars, more modes, and more coarses then all the other games out on the market. You can just race or be a police racing down the streets of New York or in the country side in Ireland giving racers tickets and earining money to by better cars. Speaking of the cars it has an excellent seletion such as an Audi or an old fasion car. The only bad thing to this game is the music but during the game you probobly won't even notice it because of the nonstop action. That is why i give this game 5 stars.

Terrible disappointment

Perhaps my expectations were too high for this game, but i wascrushed when i fired it up for the first time. Downfalls? here theyare... 1) The soundtrack is terrible. Silence is better than hearing fear factory sing about cars. 2) The menu setup is meager. Not a big deal, but it didn't add to my enjoyment of the game. 3) The graphics. Sure, they are better than on other systems, but they do not even touch those in speed devils. The cars look totally unrealistic. 4) As mentioned in an earlier review, the sound effects are embarassing. 5) Two player mode. impossible. For some reason Infogrames decided to go with a vertical screen split. You cannot imagine how hard this makes cornering. But on the upside you get to see plenty of sky everytime you run into an unseen obstacle. 6) Terrible car control. The cars dont feel attached to the road. The do not have realistic collisions, and they do not exhibit damage. 7) No rumble pack support. I could go on but i wont. Infogrames did a pitiful job on this game, as they did on slave zero. I will not consider purchasing any more games by Infogrames and I urge you not to either. If you just want to race, this game might do it. If you intend to play two player mode, or be impressed in any way look elsewhere.
