this is a great fun game

This game is fun and great. Theres nothing wrong with this game you people should give things a chance either that or you suck at shooting games, but this is a fun game. The story mode was great the stages were great with nice background and design, and the graphics are nice. Terrorist hunt is fun to even when 2playrs, so this is a fun game.

Great game if that is the type that you are looking for.

I purchased this game without knowing too much about it and also without playing "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 1". I had recently been introduced to "Call of Duty 4" and immediately became obsessed with the multi-player aspect of the game. Many people online playing "Call of Duty 4" were all talking about this new game coming out and how great it was going to be (referring to "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2"). I was in such a first-person shooter frenzy that I bought RSV2 as soon as it hit stores. I must say the gameplay in RSV2 is very slow moving compared to the run-and-gun style that COD4 is, and that I have come to love. RSV2 is a tactical game and you need to take your time analyzing the situation before you take any action. Not my style, but that doesn't mean it's not your style. So like I said in the title, A great game, if that is the type you're looking for.

More fun then the Last Vegas

This game is just what I expected from the folks at Ubsoft as a sequel. All the things that I was bothered with were fixed e.g. how you could not see where your rank progress was, opening of weapons, and other equipment. Plus now your weapon settings stay the same so you dont have to keep putting on your scliencer and single shot after each time you get waxed. Plus the AI are more difficult, and realistic. Some times you will be shooting at one AI only to be flanked by his buddy. Well done and I look forward to playing any other Rainbow 6 installments.

any game played on the 360 is awesome, but this game was amazing. graphics are great, gameplay is sweet only thing i wish there were more maps. and terrorist hunt needs to allow for more than 4 people while on system link. other than that a 10 for sure

The best FPS on the market thus far

As good as the first with excellent additions. I love this game and ANY fps fan will love it as well. Excellent play control, love the graphics and this time if you have a xbox live vision camera you're able to load a picture of yourself and play with that character in story mode without being online! My title says it all. The BEST FPS on the market thus far. Army of Two is about to collect dust. But to each their own. If you're not a FPS player then you should pass. Most people now these days find the smallest things to make a complaint or a reason why a game isn't good when overall they just may not be a good videogame player or that particular game just isn't for them. There's a fact that there are players out there in denial about knowing how to play a game and blame the game instead of their skills. There's plenty of shabby games that actually deserve bashing. Then you have companies who make good games but never really change too much. Rainbow Six falls in that category. If it's not broke then don't fix it. Keep it going untill it gets old. "Nuff Said"

big time letdown

after achieving basically every challenge in Call of Duty 4 (COD4), i was looking for something new in RB6V2. while i did find something new, it was not for the better and I came to realize just how great COD4 is.

in my opinion, here're some of RB6V2 weaknesses: 1) basically ineffective shot-from-hip shots...COD4 got it right with their "stead-aim" perk; 2) no melee attack...absolutely unacceptable in a FPS; 3) unimpressive graphics...this is year 2008 for goodness' sake; 4) cross-hairs disappear when player is moving...this just makes knowing the aim-point that much harder; 5) unrealistic grenade tosses...the grenade flies like cotton-candy for crying out loud!!; 6) smoke/flash grenades cartoonish...COD4 gets top marks for mimicking these effects; 7) undesirable upgrades...why the heck do i want to spend hours of my time just to get a different color undershirt that only gets covered up with my body armor?; 8) mandatory respawn time...news flash, i don't want to wait 10 sec watching teammates play the game! COD4 gets it right by allowing players to skip the respawn timeout; 9) kill-cam not standard...COD4 gets it right by always showing how a player gets killed while giving the player an option to skip the video if he desires; 10) low-degree of verisimilitude...COD4 is so realistic it could seriously be used as a trainer for infantry-men; 11) manual-intensive multiplayer...RB6V2 makes the same mistake as Gears of War by forcing the player to scroll through a laundry list of games with different hosts...in COD4 i could regularly jump into a game within 30 seconds; 12) cumbersome notification of kills...why the heck should i have to take my eyes of the center of the screen to read some small text that says I made a kill??

i could give more examples, but i don't have the time. if you're looking for the best FPS on the market, it ain't here.

Not quite the original, but still great

For those that have played the first RB6 Vegas and are wondering if this one stacks up to the original, the answer is yes. While there are some problems with this sequel, the game stays true to the original and adds some additional features as well. If you haven't played the original then pay attention anyways.

For the sequel you can now play co-op story mode via split screen from the same console, but unfortunately you can't play a 4 player co-op on Live which sucks. Not sure why this was taken out, but you do get two useless computer characters to help you out if you want. The guns load faster, when using assault rifles the bullets don't "run" on you, and shooting and throwing grenades sound and look much more realistic. You also have the ability to run as in COD4, which is nice. The reward system (called ACES) is also an improvement as you can rank up through all the modes, whether you're on Live or not. Some of the levels were taken from previous RB6 games which to some will feel like a sham, but are actually quite nice and fitting to play on Live. The terrorist hunt this time around provides you with the ability to "respawn" twice. If you don't have Live, the single player mode still provides the Terrorist Hunt and gives you the option to play alone or with computerized teammates. There is also a new difficulty setting called "Casual" and the realistic difficulty certainly seems harder than the first game.

Now for the gripes: The graphics are not improved over the first game, and if you're used to playing Call of Duty you will be dissappointed with this. It truly doesn't feel like an HD game. Sometimes while having a close gunfight, the framerate will become VERY slow and the screen gets extremely pixelated.

To me this sequel feels like a sequel and does NOT feel like an expansion pack. You do get to finish the Vegas story, which does feel quite short, and the multiplayer is as good as any game I've played (with the exception of the graphics). Many choose to compare RB6 Vegas to Call of Duty, but they truly are two different games. Vegas is a game that utilizes "teamwork" and communication to your other teammates is very key a lot of the time which is just plain "cool". Overall this game delivers and is worth the purchase for the online play alone.

ehhh.....

This is it? Nothing new on this one really. Is it just me or does this game lag a little bit during tense moments? Not worth 60 dollars if you ask me.

I love the new additions from RS:V and the new weapons. Best game on Xbox Live right now!

I bought this game a couple of days ago and started it immediately. Played through it the first time on normal and beat it within in 6 hours. Thinking it would be more challenging on realistic I switch the difficulty. First off lets just say the AI is retarded, they are in the same spot and do the same actions as normal difficulty. Second they still can't shoot, I died once on realistic, only because I forgot about a sniper. If you are looking for a challenge, look somewhere else. For online game play I can't speak for that as I haven't played it online. This game is a disappointment for graphics and gameplay in the story mode.
