Would like to play Rock Band but....

I just got the game today, I purchased it at a local Bestbuy and low and behold everything was in the box except....THE GAME DISC. On the box it says it is included, so going to exchange for one that has the disc included. As for the online play and DLC, I am only a low level gamer so no big deal, besides volume discs are going to be released for the Wii anyway. So be cautious and CHECK the box thoroughly. I am not mad, just surprised and perplexed, I mean WTF. I hope that I can play it soon.

Perfect -- couldn't be happier. The kids haven't stopped playing with it since they got it.

Good Game.

Great game. Lots of fun and very difficult to master. Only complaint is the lack of newer music. Most of the songs will not be known by the younger generations (who are the ones playing) making it more difficult to sing to having never heard the song before. Other than that, no complaints.

My kids enjoy this game a lot, they play the guitar, they sing, they play the drums and they have a lot of fun.

Not quite as great as I thought it would be

Well, the big hype was about Wii being wireless...but only the guitar is wireless in this set, and the drums have the shortest cord! Also, there are apparently no compatible guitars at this time, which means you can never have 4 people play at once unless you know someone else with the whole set who can bring theirs (and I'm not even 100% sure that would work.) The music is the same as the others and the game is definitely a good time, but I just expected more.

rock band is awsome

I bought this game after playing it ata friends house and was not dissapointed. its tons of fun for die hard rock fans like myself. I think its very stupid to not like this game b/c u cant make your own character, that is really not the point of the game and while your playing(if ur on expert mainly) your not even paying attention to that. To return this game because of that reason really makes no sense what soever and if you don't like this one then you don't like it on any other system because as much as people whine and complain they are basically all the same with little differences of things like characters. I was pretty dissapointed that there is no online, but think its good they will have buyable additional songs

Wii rock band su-diddly-ucks.

The guitar? Awful.
The fact that GH3 guitars don't work with it? Awful.
The fact that the stupid guitar USB wireless dongle has that bright flashing blue light ALL THE TIME? Awful.
The fact that the stand on the drum set collapses when the drums are played enthusiastically? Awful.
The fact that the easy mode play list doesn't include all the songs? Awful.
The way-too-long load times? Awful.
The fact that the splash screens can't be skipped? Awful.
The lack of player customization? Awful.
The playlist? Okay, pretty good. But not enough to make up for all the other shortcomings.

EA will never get another dime from me, and I'm seriously considering boxing this thing back up, and mailing it to them with a letter that says "I'd rather be out the $160 plus shipping than ever have to clap eyes on this again."

I got this for my daughter and myself as she goes to our neighbors' house and plays theirs. I actually like the Rockband Wii version better because the guiter that comes with the set is wireless. I also got an extra guitar so four people can play together. I have not tried that yet. When I do, I will update the review.

So far this is lots of fun and even if you are not good at singing you can still enjoy yourself. You get booed a few times, but as you practice you get better and better. This is good fun for both family and friends.

addicted to rock band!

Like many other people, I played the xbox 360 version of this game previously. I waited a while to buy it, so I knew from reading other reviews that this game lacked many things found on other platforms of this game. With that said, those things that it lacked surely weren't my primary reasons for purchasing the game. I just wanted to rock! This game is awesome. I've always loved musical instruments, and for people like me who live in an apt complex and/or can't afford the real thing, this is the next best thing to a real drum kit. I get to pretend I'm actually playing and just let loose. If you buy this game primarily for what it was designed for, then you won't be heavily disappointed. Hey, I got to pick my band's name...that was enough for me. And FYI, there is another version of this game being released later this year...more along the lines of what was available for playstation and xbox. So if you must really customize your band on stage right down to the pink hairspray on the tip of your bass guitarist's mohawk, then your wish will be granted.
