One of the Best Games for the GBA

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 4

Everything about The Minish Cap is good. Like the music. Mixes range from the NES Legend of Zelda all the way to tunes from Ocarina of Time; many of the sound samples take their cues from Ocarina of Time and the Wind Waker respectively. If you find enough of a particular item you can unlock a means of hearing every song in the game, I was actually surprised to hear how close in quality the songs are to their console counterparts. I don?t know if the GBA?s sound capabilities are being maxed out or if the console sound is severely under utilized. Link?s little boy yell is ever present and sounds nearly as good as it does on GCN. Which is good.

Minish Cap is one of the best looking games on the GBA to date, taking after the toony Wind Waker style. Many of the puzzles in this game require Link to shrink to Picori size. This is certainly one of the best GBA games there is, not mention one of the best 2D Zelda games ever. I hope it?s not the last.

Great fun!

This is a reminiscent of the classic Zelda games: Link to the Past and the Oracle games, but has elements that make it stand out from all the others. This game is very new, original, and fresh! If you're looking for fun, this is the game.

A Great Addition

I beat the new Zelda game for the GBA a couple days ago. It was a really great game if you're into the silly, top-down, 2D adventure. It is kind of a mix of Link to the Past and the Oracle games in style with some innovative game play ideas and items. Unfortunately, it was a bit short but it's packed with stuff to find. The Capcom team is doing an excellent job.

In this game Link proves once again that size doesn't matter.

As in every Zelda game it all comes down to a pure hearted and very determined boy in green to save the world. Surprizingly the power of the triforce and the constantly returning Ganon have nothing to with the problems that plague hyrule this time around. This time Link seems to have been reincarnated to deal with a much more different enemy, an enemy that began no more than a centimeter tall. A powerful Minish wizard has created a hat that grants extreme power to it's wearer. Originally, the hat was supposed to be used for the good of human children but the wizard's student stole the cap and intends on using it's extreme power for his own use. Before you know it, Zelda is turned to stone because of the powerful mysterious ability to manipulate magic within her bloodline and Link, being the bravist guy around, takes up the challenge to rescue her and, if at all possible, stop the rouge minish.

I loved this game because if nothing else the whole thing was a brain twisting puzzle. The story is awsome as well and the characters are full of life. If you are stuck on a puzzle you could play mini-gamesm, go treasure hunting, or even collect figurines. I couldn't stop playing this one, it's perfect as a GBA game to bring with you on long trips.

The New Zelda on Gameboy

Ever since Link had the face-lift on the Gamecube, my interest for the ageless boy wained a bit. The cartoon look and water-color settings just took a lot away from the old Zelda experience. But in this version, it gets back to its roots yet keeps the water-color look. It's the classic 2D style, moving from screen to screen in search of treasure and bosses, with a few story elements mingled here and there to keep your interest.

In this version, Link is the apprentice to a blacksmith and is charged to bring a sword to the Picori Festival. During your mission, Zelda asks Link to escort her around the festival grounds. The day starts out great, and the festivities continue until an enemy emerges, the champion of the festival's sword-fighting competition. After a few brief events, the champion, Vaati, makes his escape, but in his wake he leaves a petrified Zelda behind, and Link must figure out how to un-petrify Hyrule's beloved princess. So starts Link's journey, and soon into it he meets a strange, hat-like creature named Ezlo, who becomes Link's essential companion as he gives Link the ability to shrink and visit the many Minish (tiny, fairy-like creatures) settlements all over the place. These creatures are out to help Link in his quest to regain a legendary sword.

The game play is as simple and fun as it was for any of the other 2D Zelda games. You're constantly traveling to unlock new areas to explore, gain new items, and learn new sword techniques. But, after a while, this does get kind of old. And without a strategy kind, it's next to impossible to find absolutely every item in the game. It does add one thing that makes the game a little addictive and hard to put down, and that is the Kinstones, tiny shards of rock that, when joined with the second piece, unlocks secrets. Just searching for these little rocks is addictive enough, but when you find the match (you must check all the different people and sometimes objects across Hyrule) it's great to get the reward. It adds a little depth to a relatively simple game.

Overall, this is a solid addition to the Zelda franchise, and is definitely one of the better Gameboy Advance games to come out last year. If you're a fan of Zelda and Link, then pick this up, or if you're looking for something to pass the time say on long field trips or on laundry day, then I'd also recommend this to you. It's easy to pick up and put down without ever feeling too lost.

Zelda's Newest Portable Game

This game is really creative. Shrinking with a hat, pretty original. I got this game and it was pretty good. The graphics are like four swords. The sound is OK, and of course, if you don't like it, just turn it off. The levels have fighting and puzzles like all Zelda games. The bosses are easy, which is disappointing because they are really easy, no challenge at all. Finally, the story is excellent. A new bad guy comes looking for power, turns Zelda to stone, you have to gather 4 elements and reforge a sword. A basic Zelda game. I give this game 4 stars because it's to short. I beat it in less than a week. Besides its that, this game was really fun. If your a Zelda fan, you should buy this game. You'd really enjoy it.

I am a big Zelda fan and when i found out Minish Cap was out, i was really excited. The Minish Cap is a great game that is just a very short. the Kinstone fusion adds to the value but in the end i beat the game in 3 days. The graphics are great, the sound is good but is not like the other games in the serious. the gameplay is good with the shrinking and the puzzles are at a good difficulty. The problem is that it is short. Buy this game
