Okay I havn't gotten the game yet, but it looks great!! I love getting a new expansion pack and seeing all the new things they have. Okay before you put out the game please finish it all the way. The sims online wasn't even finished! So I think the regular sims is better and I want to see what they come out with next! I heard something about sims 2. It looks GREAT so far!! Please finish it...all the way!

Hello. I know that it is frustrating when you can't get your sim to become famous! I have this game and I can't get mine to get famous. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to quickly get your sim famous without doing that spell from Making magic? Please post if you know. Also get a mirror for your sim and have them "practice their speech" it got my sim a whole star but i can't think of anything else to do to get them more stars!

Superstar is awesome

This Expansion Pack to the sims, the sims deluxe, or the sims double deluxe is the best expansion pack ever. what you have to do is live your life( Like every other sims game in the world) exept in this expansion pack only, you can become a famous celebrity. you earn your way up from singing kareoke to acting in a big time soap opera. you can hire an agent and see who the ten hot celebrities are. Also there is a few new items, like the sky diving machine(Expensive but it helps with body and fun), and the aquarium(Expensive also, but is the best thing for fun). they also heve a new pool tabe and a new weight set. in this expansion you can still get a pet. you also can get married and have children too. I'de say this is the game of the year. Plus i can't wait untill the sims 2 comes out.

If you want anything e-mail me at kingtroy619@yahoo.com or go to my web page at www.freewebs.com/troys_cool_site and leave a messege on my guestbook.

I was so excited to play superstar when i bought it after my birthday. its very fun, but the only problem is it takes sooooo long to load! it may just be my comp but i have heard other people say its slow too. the instruction manual isnt extremely helpful. if you really need help i suggest asking other people who have the game because EA games wont help (i tried). but other than that its an awesome game!

Is the expansion pack really worth it?

I've heard that question numerous times, without a good answer to go along though.

Superstar is your average The Sims expansion pack, new objects, people, jobs, and an entire new town. This pack focuses on, well, basically making your Sims famous and 'living the life'.

The two most common problems for me when I play Superstar is the fact that it loads painfully slow (I use Windows XP, but maybe it's just my other programs) and the game crashes to your desktop more than usual. I've tried to find a way to fix the crash thing because it's nerve-racking, but so far I haven't found a solution. Oh, and once your Sim is famous, and you're trying to make friends, it's very difficult at that stage.

If you don't know how to get fame the easy way, the extremely difficult way is the Maxis way. It's not easy, but I can honestly say it's a new challenge.

i used to be a fan

I used to be a fan of the sims. I bought all the expansion packs but after vacation i relized is there realy a difference. Look at it this way Maxis made an excelent game and made a few good expansion packs but now that there realy milking i mean come on i wonder if maxis will ever come out with another non sim game.

This expansion is great and also a must have to your sim's collection!! You get to do more of the career aspect by actually going to work and raising your star level! Great game!

Good idea but frustrating

This was an excellent idea. Becoming a superstar has been really fun for my Sims and me, in general. But it also can be really frustrating. For example, I was so close to attaining a really high star level, but then I got the "so and so is no longer a family friend" message, and the rating I had that relates to how famous your friends are went from like 13 to 6.5 or something. It doesn't happen like that.
Another thing I don't like is that if you attain the highest star level and then want your Sim to focus on something else, i.e. becoming an awesome magician (with Makin Magic), after like 2 Sim days you get a call saying you dropped a star level. I mean, yes, in Hollywood if you are inactive of course you will fall out of favor. But two days?!
Overall, it was a good attempt, but I was not entirely satisfied.

What's the point??

Ok..I have to admit, for awhile I was addicted to the sims-- I mean totally addicted. I had all sorts of crazy dyfunctional families living in the most bizarre houses and wearing the most bizarre clothes I could possibly find. All of my sims were at the top of their career ladders with tons of friends and lots of money. But then I realized... something was definitely missing. The games just werent fun anymore. I even bought Unleashed, Vacation, and Living Large to add something..that missing ingredient. But I still haven't found it. And The Sims now sits on the shelf all alone..and I dont think I ever want to play it again. The little objects are "amusing" for awhile, but then everything becomes too repitive. A game is supposed to take you far and away into a whole different world, but the Sims is almost exactly like normal day life with a few strange objects, perfect weather, and never-aging people. No matter how many new junk Maxis piles into the expansion packs, the game will never have a point. And please, if you already got a lot of Sims products, you really need to stop buying these games. They become a large expense, take up a ton of computer memory, and get pretty boring in a short period of time.

It's a good game, i just hate that the food and energy objects don't really do a lot for the poor simmies.
