I've played all the medal of honor series games, this one stands out as the worst I've played. Not just the worst MOH but the worst first person shooter I was never pleased and was very dissapointed in how easy the game was.

What happend to MOH????

This game is TERIBLE with a capital "T". The player you are moves like molasses and you have horrible ammo capacity And RPM. THis game lacks realism and is very slow and borring i mean come on wouldnt you say MOH would be better off without this game????

This game is seriously flawed. I think some o the reviewers that wrote such great reviews may be inexperienced with shooters. I'm a gun enthusiast and was very disappointed at the lack of the M-1 Carbine. I held one of these guns at the gun shop and really liked it. It was so small, light, handy, and common, I can't believe the makers would overlook this nice little rifle. The gun is actually shown in the hands of a Marine in a picture on a loading screen. The graphics really aren't that great, but I do like how they did the Garand and 1903 Springfield. The game is pretty unrealistic and beating levels can be puzzling, you just wander around sometimes not knowing exactly what to do or how to do it. Sometimes it seems like right when you command a mounted machine gun, it causes enemies to swarm at you that just come from nowhere. The game just doesn't flow right at times and there are pop ups; you advance a certain distance and all of a sudden an enemy, a bridge, or whatever is there where there was clearly nothing. In one level, right when you drop caltrops for an enemy car, the suddenly appears and crashes for you. In another level, right when you command the crane and drop the load on the tracks for train your supposed to crash, the train appears from nowhere and crashes. Sometimes you can have the cross hairs right on someones head and it's registered as an extremity hit or a complete miss. If you're not in the right place, the game won't let your hits count. I hate some of the weapons lack of stopping power, you can shoot guys a bunch of times and practically nothing happens. The guys with the swords are the worst: he can be right in front of you, you should clearly be hitting them with the rounds you're spraying from your gun but nothing happens except you getting severely damaged by the sword. That doesn's always happen, thankfully. Full power rifle rounds coming from a machine gun should have the same power as coming from a 1903 or Garand. It seems the faster the gun shoots, the less powerful it is and that is totally ridiculous. The enemies don't react enough to being shot. I've been spoiled by games like Golden Eye and Socom and I'm not that impressed with this one. The game can be fun, but it's also pretty short. They're aren't enough levels and some of them are too long. Why can't you pick up enemy weapons like you can on practically every other shooter? I hate how you just have to wait until the game lets you get a certain one.

i dont know how this game could be fun.. its the same old..shoote em up..no blood jus wierd pain sounds, and lots n lots of Japs outta nowheere, plus the game was really choppy..for gamecube id expect something smooth and more graphical, but no this piece of crap gave me a headache 30 minutes into it..because the choppiness of the frame rate..it coulda been better..for some reason i like medal of honor allied assault a little better then this one.. this iant the worst fisrt person shooter i played but in my list its one of the worst..especially when the developors had the chance to upgrade the graphics with gamecubes power..sometimes i think im playing the ps version..especially on split screen 2 player mode..now thats was horrible..i had to tell my brother i dindt wana play no more because it seemed i was actaully playin the old game outta psone..damn..oh well maybe in the future the game will be better..if u lookn for real kickass fps..look for half life 1 and 2..or Counter Strike..wich r way better games..i hope this review helped...peace

I love all kind of stuff related to war: Series, Movies, Games. But I have to say this game is disappointing. I mean, it has great graphics and the sound effects are great, the controls are mostly easy and it can entertain you. But not for long...

The game has only 9 levels, they are very limited, you don't have all the free-will of moving around as you probably wish even that some levels are pretty big. You only have one path to go and that's it (with the only exception of the ship level).

The last level is very hard, especially the machine guns on the hills.

It has a bunch of weapons, but not enough in my opinion.

Once I find a supposedly secret on the ship level in some lockers and it said it was something like a "god-mode" but I never managed to make that work, I have no idea what they did to that.

The game also is about 4 or 5 hours long... I bought it one day, the other day I beat it and the next week I exchange it for another game.

If I was you I would not buy this game, instead I'll give a try to Call of Duty or something else because this sucks.

Not as good as frontline

In 2003, i loved moh: frontline. so when i heard of a new moh, i went nuts. i coudn't wait. and i got the game, and I was so dissapointed. First, the story is incredibly dumb. you're a marine who has to find this japanese commander's gold. what does gold have to do with WW2? also, nothing changed from frontline at all, except for the new grenade button which is actually pretty useful. i cant say this game is really bad, but it is isn't as great as other WW2 shooters. the pearl Harbor mission is pretty fun, but it goes downhill from there. also, the missions can take you almost an hour to beat. It's just not that fun.

Not as good as frontline and dissapointing

its not as good as frontline while the multiplayer is somewhat fun, it doesnt make up for the easy campaign mode which can be beaten in less then 10 hours. i can only reccomend this game to really big fans of MOH or just a weekend rental.

Fun for a while

Medal of Honor: Frontline was and still is one of my favorite games. When I got this game, I was hoping for the same thing with larger levels, more weapons, better graphics, ect. I found almost all of these things in Rising Sun, but most of these features came with a not so great oppisite. The levels were much larger, but there were very few of them. The levels are also on a track for the most part. You just follow the little path through jungles or go down the only street that isn't blocked by rubble. The only sense of freedom I ever got in this game was in a part of a level where you have to run up a hill to take out an artillary emplacement. Wow! You can go up the hill on the left or right side! The number of weapons was increased, but you can only use two different Japanese guns. Also, you can only use one kind of grenade. The attack on Pearl harbor level is more of an obstical course than it is a battle. You run around inside the ship ducking under loose pipes, jumping over holes in the floor and putting out fires. Then you go up on deck and start shooting at planes. The first time through the game is fun and I still like to play through it with my friends in two player co-op. This is a good game for WWII FPS fans who don't have huge expectations for it.

A review from someone who has played EVERY MOH game on the GAMECUBE.

How does Rising Sun stack up against Frontline and European Assault? Well, at times the game looks great. The jungle assault at night level looks pretty bad. Blurry graphics (N64 anyone?) and a lousy looking jungle. Overall, the game is lacking the graphical beauty of Frontline, but contains enough to make you look around once and a while. The city levels are nice and well textured as is the attack on the jungle temple (beautiful). The music is A+ Japanese themed. There is a LOT of health scattered through the levels, but you cannot trade out your guns. Whatever you start the level with, that's it (with 1 or 2 exceptions later in the game). There are LOTS of save points and the game seems to improve in the later levels. I hated it at first, but after the poorly designed night levels, it started to grow on me. HINT: The Japanese suicide attacks are DAMAGING! I am almost done with Rising Sun and am glad I bought the game. It's no Frontline or European Assault, but it has its good points.

Any big battles?

Medal of honor rising sun is much less than it is hyped up to be. First off it is very very short and easy to beat. Also no major battles (Pearl Harbor isn't really a battle) with masses of soldiers are in here like Iwo Jima. Also their needs to be more of a squad unit fell to the game not this one man army destroying everything but their are pros. Easy to control weapons and etc... Just general fun. Mainly historically correct. Bonus objectives are good and so is cooperative mode. Level design was easy to follow with the exception of Midnight raid on Gundacal. Overall not as good as Frontline but solid and worth a rent or buy.
