Battlefront II

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 3 / 7

We have had this for about a week now and find it to be fun, however there seems to be one thing missing: Vertical Splitscreen. The original Battlefront had and this one only seems to have horizontal which makes it much harder to play. Am I missing a possible option that will allow me to switch? Otherwise the game rocks!

Finally Revenge on JarJar

The absolute best part of this game is the Hunt type game. In this mode it pits you against various planets natural inhabitants. On Naboo you hunt Gungans! Nothing like blasting away at Jar Jar for a few minutes after watching Episode I,II, and III

An Excellent Addition to any Star Wars Gaming Collection

Star Wars Battlefront II, the sequel to Star Wars Battlefront (the best selling Star Wars game of all time)proves to be a much improved game. As in BF 1, you role-play as a soldier belonging to one of four factions: The Old Republic, The Empire, The Galactic Alliance, or the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Within those factions are various different playable soldiers including Republic Jet Troopers, Rebel Bothan Spies, the Empire's Stormtroopers, or the Seperatist Droidiekas. New to the franchise is playing as a hero character. These powerful characters have advanced weapons and power and are extremely powerful in combat. There are several playable heroes for each faction.
For the Rebels: Luke Skywalker, Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca.
Empire: Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Boba Fett, Anakin Skywalker
Republic: Mace Windu, Yoda, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Aaylia Securla, (am I spelling that right?) and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Seperatists: Darth Maul, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, Emperor Palpatine
Also new are space battles, where you can blow up the enemy capital ships from the inside or outside with special marine and pilot units. The various starfighters are of course differing between factions. Many new and old vehicles are also included, such as the Scout Walker, Imperial Walker, various speeders and tanks, etc. The Galactic Conquest mode is included again. New to that mode are space battles and bonuses that are bought with points instead of gained via planets. You also have to buy your units with points, instead of getting them all at the beginning. New also is the Rise of the Empire campaign, where you fight as the Republic and Empire in various scenarios from Star Wars history. I would recommend Star Wars Battlefront II to anyone who has even a mundane interest in Star Wars. With online play and instant action battles, it's a fun game, win or lose.

In the secound Star Wars take of EA's Battlefield games lucas arts has made a few improvements, though the game is alot like its predicessor. This game adds new maps at the cost of some of the older favorites like Rhen Var and Cloud City. Also it adds the new space battles which are alot of fun. With land battles come playable heros. It is fun to slice through enemies as Darth Maul or shoot them up as Princess Leia. A new class is added to each faction, but unfortuanatly you have to unlock that and BF1s speacial class each battle. The online play is fun. The most addicting part is hero assalut were you play as all the heroes (or villians) in Mos Eisply. Overall this game is much like the origanal so if you enjoyed it or the Battle field serries, or are a Star Wars fan this is a game for you.

Having this game on XBOX, I had a blast playing through the story mode and the multi player modes. My only gripe was that the XBOX version is only 480p max in resolution. Playing it on my LCD TV was kind of like an eyesore. So I decided to buy this for my PC since I really enjoyed this game. The graphics were definitely much better. However, the controls were more complicated. None the less, the game still deserves the 5 out of 5.

This game may be old but it's a goody! I am almost 14 and I try to play it as often as I can. I also have it for my PSP and it's better on the big screen, but loads of fun! Get it for a cheap, fun time!

This is a really great First-Person/Third-Person Shooter. Fun space missions, great actions and graphics. If you've played Star Wars Battlefront I you NEED to play II. Overall a fantastic game.

What is all the hype about?

I was debating between FEAR, Quake4, and this game. Bought this one because it was available at the time. Very disappointed in the gameplay. Nothing innovative. Feels like a 3-4 year old shooter. Even being able to play as various types from both trilogies wasn't enough to save this for me. The space battles were painfully repetitive, the ground battles were so-so, and the conquest mode was just plain dumb in its simplicity. Multi-player was enough for a little fun for a while. You will definitely get more bang for your buck almost anywhere else.
