The worst game I've ever played--including those on my C64

The game is horribly frustrating on PC/Mac platforms because it lacks the ability to save in the middle of a level. Thus the game becomes a play-fail-try again endless loop if you miss the tiniest part of a particular level.

Just utter garbage. I would *literally* rather watch an hour of white noise on TV than wish this game on anyone.

Horrible, horrible frame rate

The game starts out great. The training missions are fast, smooth and fun. I have to assume that all the high reviews are from people who've just started playing it.

The problem is, once you start the actual missions, the frame rate seems to drop noticably, presumably because of all the extra objects the game has to draw. Not only that, but the frame rate becomes uneven, which makes targeting anything while on the move rather annoying. The pixelated graphics don't help, and the faux-3D is rather obvious.

When you compare it to (say) "Burnout 2", it's clear that very little effort was spent to get the game running acceptably on the GameCube. I've seen smoother graphics on PS2 games (I own both systems). Definitely one to steer clear of.

This game was the worst game for GameCube I have ever played! All of the levels were too easy and everything about it was bad.

Horrible and Agonizing Gameplay

There is no question this is the worst racing game I have ever played. Extremely difficult and frustrating to play, its just NOT fun. I returned the five day rental after 2 hours of torment. Great racing games: F-Zero (Super Nes), F-Zero X (N64), Crusin USA (N64), Rumble Racing (PS2) (cheesy graphics but fun gameplay), Tokyo Extreme Racer (Dreamcast) (Fantastic graphics and gameplay). :)

Spy Hunter is an awsome game. The only drawbacks are that there are no 4 player modes, and the game takes a bit to much time to load.

this game is so cool.the graphics are awsome and the missions are so fun. they may be hard but fun.people that think this game isn't so good are crazy.especially that person that said the missions are hard. if he likes starfox and all those shooting games, why doesn't he like this one? those games also have really hard missions. you need to get this game. i do agree that the spy hunter theme video is a bit fuzzy but it's not like you're going to stare at the video forever. if you're a fan of shooting games, then you should get this game

the grphics in this game are horrible and it takes a minute to load a mission. the music is really annoyiong, and it is very hard to beat some missions. the missions are very stupid. so if i were you i would't buy the game.

What makes for a good shooter? Great graphics, great music, great controls, cool cinematics, and loads of replay value.

This game manages to not have (at least in my opinion) a single one of these things. The music is redundant and not particularly inspired (unlike the x-box version which is a bit of an improvement). The graphics are pixelated (much more than the other console versions) and no where near state-of-the-art. The controls are okay, but not terribly intuitive.

The cinematics are REALLY pixelated, just sub-par for what this system is capable of. But what really kills this game is the very thing that makes for a good shooter, REPLAY VALUE. The game is VERY short, and new missions can only be unlocked by accomplishing irritating objectives (like collect all of a certain item, or tag all of a certain vehicle).

There is no real incentive to replay levels. Unlike most classic shooters, there's no cool grading system, and no high score rankings. In short, rent this one before you buy. That's my recommendation.

Yipee and Yahoo!!!

Yeah! This game is smooth and exicting and fun! Let us get down to the Pros and Cons, and Review area:

PROS
1.Graphics ARE good, especially the Interceptor graphics and the Spyhunter Theme Intro Movie(though they are slightly fuzzy).
2.The Gamepla y(the way it controls, etc.) is great.
3.The Interceptor is slick and smooth, and it transofmrs into three different vehicles! C'mon! Interceptor Car, Motorcycle and Speedboat!
4.The levels are fun to play, and even fun to watch! The Matrix-like scene at the first level is cool, but corny.

CONS
1.Well, I guess the Saliva idea and music stuff is kinda useless and boring, even though I only saw 1/4 of it!
2.The background graphics are a bit N64-like and PSX-like.

REVIEW

The real deal:

FUN: 5/5 Why? Because all the levels are heart-pumping action and the weapons assortment is great!

GRAPHICS: 4/5
The graphics are good, but the trees and people may look like Porsche challenge for the PSX or a N64 game but the Interceptor itself is great.

REPLAY VALUE: 4/5
You can play the levels all over again, and my personal favorites are Dragonstrike, Double-Vision and I forgot the name, level 6.

APPROPIATE FOR ALL AGES: 4/5
The game itself is a little violent, but no blood or anything else. When you shoot a bad guy, they sometimes dissappear right when they get hit, or sometimes you shoot them and they fall down and dissappear. The fact that it is rated T is not that true, because there is not blood, and with all of the heart-pumping action you won't have time to see if there is any blood.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Fun, fun, and fun again. It is like playing Road Rash, Goldeneye 007, Porsche Challenge and Wave Race:Blue Storm all together. If you like anyone of those games, get it and don't regret it. The fact that it is a multi-game category is good, and I'd suggest this to all people. It features multi-player also, but you must finish all objectives in that perticular level to play it on multi-player mode. I recommend it, whatever the price.
Have fun, and go get NOSTRA!

Kinda like agent under fire driving

This game is kindof like the levels you play in agent under fire where you drive a car. Except theres more weapons and theres 12 levels in Spy Hunter. Theres lots of missions in every level. This was a cool game when I rented it but then it got kindof boring. Rent this game if you like it buy it. If you dont like it dont by it. Rent it till you beat it.
