Best Shooting Game EVER

I have played many shooting games in my life but NO game comes close to this one. The details are fascinating and the gameplay even better. Not only this, but an expansion is coming in Jouly and you will need this game for even a better experience. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS GAME!

Best of the (Tom Clancy)series yet. Graphics are wonderful (most of the time) but choppy & slow when a major fire fight is on with smoke & frags going off everywhere. I have run into many bugs though:
A)Flashbangs: don't work-game turns off
B)Teammates will walk in front of your gun-hench commit suicide when sniping or in a fire fight.
C)The thermal vision(sencondary fire) hasn't found an enemy yet for me.
D)Night vision-screen just goes blank/black.
And few others I just can't remember right now.

But the pros in this game far outway the cons.
Being able to send teammates (espeically back-ups) into a hot zone (open doors ect.) before you is awesome & handy. Heartbeat sensors perpair you for what's round the corner or on the other side of a wall though limited to a 15 m. distance but make sure your team is quick to react because the time it takes you to put back the sensor & draw a weapon a tango will have your number & dial you into the grave, swift!
All the goodys will take months to master as I've found out.So many weapons for so many different combat situations makes this game a keeper NOT a TRADE-IN GAME.

This ain't like other 1st person shooters. Being able to program & play or just watch the battle is what MAKES this game! Not to mention the 50 plus weapons at your choosing. GET THIS GAME ! PLAY THIS GAME! LOSE SLEEP PLAYING THIS GAME ! SIGN the divorce papers next week type of game because your wife has become a computer video gamer widow. Get a bigger coffee pot & start brewin cause you won't want to stop playing. And there are many times through out this game I actually JUMPED or screamed. A big thrill to be surprised by the enemy, so be on your gaurd AT ALL TIMES !

So being a big fan of this series I'd give this game an 7 & half to an 8 out of ten. Not more because I find the fact that team-mates blocking shots (walkin in front of you) tring to get into postion & several pieces of equipment I was not able to use even with TECH support just ... annoying !

Not bad, but not what I want as a big fan of R6 & GR

This game is a few steps backwards compared to Rogue Spear, depending on your point of view. There are a few nice new things- standing/sitting/prone positions (a la Ghost Recon), better graphics, and well, I can't think of much else.

* You can attach ONE accessory to your weapon. This means that you do not have the standard options that the M4 SOPMOD offers spec-ops folks in real life. Want a scope and a silencer? Sorry!
* Many commonly used accessories are missing.
* Tango AI acts stupid when a smoke grenade goes off. It allows you to walk right up to them and shoot them point blank.
* There is still no "wobble" when shooting first person. You try holding a 9 pound assault rifle stable when standing- you will wobble some! 1 point lost for realism. "Reticle bloom" is a poor substitute in my opinion.
* No richocets. Another point lost for realism, and this is supposed to be realistic 1st-person close quarter combat.
* You've still got snipers with no real places to use them effectively. You can snipe as well with a scoped MP5 as any other rifle.
* If I shoot someone in the wrist with a .50 cal JHP round from an M89 rifle, it doesn't blow their hand off and they return fire
* If I shoot someone in the foot a few times, they die
* There are several major steps back from Rogue Spear:
- Planning mode has less features and is much less effective
- Elite level is too hard and unrealistic. I find it impossible. Forget camo, they will always see you. And they will shoot you with 1-shot deadly accuracy from a 9mm handgun at 200 yards when you're wearing body armor.
- The AI of the NPC team members SUCKS. Your men will always get killed (especially on elite level), so you're better off just going it with 1 guy. I mean, they stare at walls sometimes, they cover areas that are already clear, and they simply can't deal with the tangos. They don't seem to see anything that isn't directly in front of them.
- You can now only have 3 teams instead of 4 (and less operators I think)
- No replays anymore!!!
- Very minor- I can no longer listen to MP3s in the background while playing

So my major problems with this game can be summarized:
* Gameplay is not as enjoyable as Rogue Spear (or Ghost Recon for that matter, or probably even the first R6!), although it certainly uses more CPU...
* The developers focused too much on redoing the graphics and other cosmetic things, while the "meat" of the game suffered. There are few noticeable improvements over Rogue Spear, and many retracted features.

What I want to see as a long time R6/GR fan:
* More Realism! Not in how the faces of the tangos look, but in the way combat is carried out.
* More effective AI, and more effective planning phase
* More freedom with weapon configuration, as this is very important
* More effective sniping capabilites

Don't buy this if you haven't played Rogue Spear.. Go buy it instead. Unless you're just into Multiplayer games and don't care about tactics or realism.

Not happy with Ubi

First off, do not buy this game if you do not have an "Uber Computer" (ex: 2.4+ Ghz Processor) with at least a 4x AGP videocard with 64 Meg memory. I am using a 1.4 Ghz and the gameplay is choppy unless I drop all graphics options to at least medium and wipe out the "enhanced audio". That's in addition to closing all background processes except Explorer and Systray. This game is supposed to be "graphically optimized for Nvidia graphics". Gee... I thought I had one.... Multiplayer? Don't even try unless you want to deal with the following: 1) Game hesitates for 40 - 80 sec at regular intervals even on LAN games (the main reason I bought it). 2) Online play requires you to enter a 16 digit code every time you want to play. I suspect the hesitation is due to the game trying to contact the online server to update game servers and/or trying to determine you you have a legit copy of the game. My suggestion? Don't buy this one unless you have a 3 - 4 Ghz processor, 8x AGP 128M Nvidia graphics card and 1G physical memory. And no... I am NOT happy with this game. BTW, if you do buy this game... Don't install the 1.4 patch they offer. It just makes the game even more graphics hungry. Single player is "kinda'" ok.

Ok I have played and beaten all of the games that Tom Clancy and Ubi soft entertainment have made but Raven Shield is the best one they have made. Oh don't even let me get started with the guns, they have put in more than enough guns for you to kill all the terrorist you want. You won't beleve the sound on this game, when you throw a flashbang in a room the ring it makes is so believable in the game. Ubi want right over the edge with the graphics in this game, you just won't believe what you see. I think this game has raisen the bar for not just first-person shooters but in all games for the rest of time. You should just go get the game yourself so you can find out for you yourself. GO BUY NOW!!!!

raven shield is a very great game, but naturally it has its flaws. first of all, we still cant jump! almost every FPS game on the planet lets you jump. the greatest improvments are the graphics and sound effects by FAR. its cool that youve got tear gas and other new weapons too, but now they all have stats that make most suck! and every single gun in the game has a horrible recoil problem. i shoot a few bullets and my gun moves around so much i miss by a foot. but just keepmoving ur mouse down. all in all if you are a hardcore fan of RS buy this, if you are soomewhat new to the series get the very first one without the expansions because the graphics worsen.

This is my first attempt at a rainbow six game and I am impressed. I really enjoy it. It has a training section that really helps and gets you up and running in a jiffy. I did the training a few times and was pretty good in no time. This game is pretty comparable to SWAT 3 & 4.
Customizable teams. You choose the clothes and weapons(there are a bunch to choose from, including explosives like breachers and Flash bangs). You can even set up snipers. Cool feature is that you can toggle between players. In game cooperation is essential and not really a lone wolf game. Their is also a muliplayer feature.
I'm convinced and I am now on board with rainbow six. When I'm done I'll try one of the newer ones. Hope this helps

Over all this game is really good. The best features are being able to completley custimize your team, and create a plan of attack. The terriost are dumber on easy and smarter on hard, but they are always fun to shoot at. The game is really realistic in that, if you get hit hard you either die or are injured and when you are injured the next shot will kill you and while you are injured you can't run and shooting isn't as acurite. You do have a lot of people (team members) that you can become once dead. There are a lot of different tatical aspects too.

Cons, This game does have a few cons though, first you can't jump which does elimnate the stupid bunyy hopping shooting fanatics on multyplayer, but you can't clear opsticals or do some other stuff. The planing stage is also kinda difficult to do so it is exicuted perfectly, (luckly the computer has a alread set plan for most levels) and lastly some of the explosives either need a really well cordinted plan or they don't make any sense.

over all this is a sweet game and i would recomend it.

This game played with a couple of your online friends using a voice program and some practice, you and your buddies will rule the net. If you are a Tom Clancy game fan you will love it. If you thought the older Clancy games were a little to complicated or hard to play, this game is making it easier for you run and gunners to enjoy it. I highly recommend this game when it hits the stores. If the demo is this good, I can not wait for the full release!

(breif review)...

I'm a huge fan of the rainbow six series, and this latest release doesnt let me down. Nearly every aspect of the game is very well done and pollished..... the gfx, sound, gameplay, maps, weapons, and gadgets are all superb.... the UI and the AI arnt perfect, but they arnt poor either... nothing a patch cant fix.

Bottom line is this is a *very* fun game to play online... i love it more than counter-strike... i would argue it has more depth and requires more stratigy.

If you are a fan of online FirstPersonShooter games, then get this game.... you wont be disappointed.
