OK,first off, I own this game on computer, and it is awesome on computer. When I first saw that it was going to be a console game, I went crazy! 50 people on Xbox Live!?! Whatever you say(LAGFEST!) I reserved this game thinking it would be flippin sweet. HA HA!!! wow....i was wrong! When i picked this game up I couldnt wait to get home and throw it in my Xbox. First, i tried the single player campaign, it was the same as the PC version, which was...great on PC...on the console version...its crap! Then i wanted to see how this 50 players on Live would work...so i went on Live...it took for flippin ever to join a game...i never found a 50 player game either...besides...i joined a game that had like 22 people....talk about a lagfest!!! This stupid thing always pops up that says game no longer available...and sometimes when i have to reload the connesction servers suck so bad that my weapon doesnt stop reloading and i cant shoot. Oh, and when i try to snipe people i cant because they lag so flippin bad! Overall i give this game 2 stars because the concept online is cool. Dont buy this game! im goin to trade it in for something better. People, if you want a good war game...play Ghost Recon 2!

Lots of hype...big letdown

Everything I had read about this game said that it was going to be a really good game. A bunch of my friends and I rushed out at lunch the day it came out and bought copies. We seriously played it for a half hour and then returned it.

The single player is decent, at best. Online is atrocious! They tout this game as being capable of handling 50 players in one room. Maybe on one LOCAL connection, but not over Live. Voice is delayed about 5 seconds. The graphics (on & offline) are at best mediocre. If this game had come out two years ago, it still wouldn't be considered cutting edge. Depth perception is poor...it is hard to distinguish anyone at more than 10 feet. Zoom...horrible. Gernades? Can't use them online...network couldn't handle it.

I returned this game to my store and they were nice enough to give me store credit. I pre-paid the new Ghost Recon instead. Will be a much better game if it follows the Ubi-Soft formula.

Do yourself a favor...buy something else.

Disappointing, clunky, and already outdated

I've been eagerly awaiting this game for over a year now and now that I finally have it, I'm selling it back after just a week of giving it a chance to shine.

The graphics are fugly and look like they were rendered on a computer from 2000. I'm not seeing any improvement over the PC version of Delta Force Land Warrior from about that same year. In fact, I think DFLW was a better game.

One thing I did notice is that--just like in the Delta Force Land Warrior PC game--you can shoot an enemy in the big toe and they'll die. Pitiful.

The single player missions are.... artificial. They don't feel very realistic in nature. "Oh, military intelligence says we've got 60-100 hostiles in the area with armed vehicles and RPGs? Okay, let's send in 4 guys on foot." Please.

The multiplayer games might be the only saving grace, and even then I think Battlefield 2 is a far better game in that department. I don't have LIVE though, so can't honestly compare.

The user interface--particularly with selecting weapons and weapon modes--is utterly abysmal. Push one button to pull up the weapon selection menu, then use the thumb pad to move left or right to select a weapon and then down or up to select a mode for that weapon if it has multiple firing options (like single shot, full auto, and gernade launcher). This should be something that can be done fast and on the fly in the heat of combat--not something that will get you killed as you stand there like an idiot trying to figure out which is the smoke grenade and which is the flash-bang.

Enemy AI is weak. Just find a good spot and wipe them all out. Likewise, your squad's AI is weak. Order them to toss a frag grenade into a room and they're just as likely to throw it into the room as they are to bounce it off the wall right next to you and blow up the whole squad.

All in all, I'm just going to see if I can get some of my money back by trading the game in at Game Stop. It feels like Novalogic put out a game that wasn't ready to be put out yet simply because they were trying to meet a deadline and/or salvage as much money as possible prior to the Xbox 360 coming out. And the result is simply a very disappointing game.

Good military shooter.

This game got alot of things right, but missed on some of the small elements that gamers have come to expect from this generation of gaming. First off let me state that very few gaming moments have made me feel like a total bad-ass (and a dork, all at the same)! Hanging off the running-boards of a Little Bird helicopter while sniping suckers on the ground was just awesome! Other great moments were manning the mini-guns on a Black Hawk (WE NEED MORE LEVELS LIKE THIS!!!) and convoy ground turret missions (but why only a 50cal., why no Mark-19 40mm grenade launcher).

In all Black Hawk is a solid First Person Shooter. There is an excellent weapon lay-out, however some missions are limited on choices; this is a mistake in my opinion. My only real gripe with the game's mechanics are the player's interaction with enemy combatants and civilians. For instance every Somolian with an AK-47 is an expert sniper, however the only thing MY D-Boys and Rangers can hit is me (over, and over, and over again, in the back of the head every time). My second point on this issue is the inadequate squad command interface; half the time it is unavailable, the other half it is unresponsive. My only other real concern is that I could not kill civilians or other background characters. I DON'T WANT TO, it's just that it removed a major element of realism for me when a stray shot has no effect.

In all I enjoyed completing the campaign in a weekend, I didn't have the opportunity to try the co-op though. The graphics were alittle less polished than what I was expecting, and I didn't get the feeling of the overwhelming odds faced by the men who were faced with the real-life hell. What I got was a good Medal of Honor style game with slightly clunky control that was fun but left me wanting just a bit more.

Xbox owners short changed again!!!

Why oh why do the Playstation 2 owners get a spanky all new version of Deltaforce Black Hawk Down complete with spanky new visuals while the Xbox owners are served second best sub par rubbish? The Xbox owners get an average direct from PC conversion complete with coverted visuals from the original PC version of Deltaforce Black Hawk Down that were never that hot in the first place, all those years ago. If anything, the Xbox owners whould have be served a superior version over the Playstation 2 version.

Signed: One very unhappy Xbox owner :(

Ok - But no looker

Delta Force Black Hawk Down plays ok. It looks bloody awful though. Halo it isn't, Doom it isn't, an average FPS it is.
If you have seen the PS2 version like i have, you maybe left wondering why thge Xbox version looks like a completely different game, different as in no where near as good.

For die hard fans of the PC version only.

Warning!!!!! Do not buy this game......

This has to be one of the worst games I have ever played. The graphics are just horrible the framerate is subpar. When playing on-line you see your teammates going through walls and you lose them. The weapons stink and load times are long long for an xbox game. The animations when hitting a bad guy is horrible. The off-line missions are short and boring. This game was to be great for the on-line play but that is one of the worst on-line games ever.. save your money guys.. get ghost recon summit strike next week.. that should be great..

Bad, So Very Bad.

You know when an Xbox game is going to suck big time when
A:Your family buy you a game you never asked for
B:Theres a stick on the front that reads PORTIONS OF THE MONEY GENERATED FROM BLACK HAWK DOWN ARE DONATED TO COLLEGE FUNDS FOR CHILDREN OF SPECIAL FORCES SOLDIERS WHO HAVE DIED

Oh i feel so much better now that i am helping children of dead soldiers by playing such a retarded game as Black Hawk.

For a first person shooter, Black Hawk is down there with the worst of the bunch. On a console like the Xbox, there are so many other super FP.Shooters out there. Halo, Halo 2, Doom to name but a few.

Dont waste your money on this sub standard dated looking affair.
And if you want to help children of dead soldiers, then give money direct to them, not via an Xbox game.

Poor showing from Nova Logic

Ok, so i donot own this game, i have however seen other people playing it in a local store. On looking for a cheaper deal here at Amazon and reading the reviews i was left in doubt. 1 star reviews and 5 star reviews? im left thinking that the 1 star reviews are from customers, games players and the over the top 5 star reviews are from the people behind Black Hawk Down.
