OoOoOoOo! GTA

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2

I recently bought an Xbox. Mainly for Doom3 and Half-Life 2 but I jsut had to get the GTA double pack, after playing it for PS2 at a friends house. After finding out i could use the music i downloaded onto my Xbox on GTA i had to check it out So i rented it. Then after weeking with it on Vice City i found it at Target for a decent price of 27.98 or something like that. How could i refuse?! Fabulous Graphics, Great Story, and Your OWN MUSIC! it's a fabulous game for anyone.

GTA A classic series

When you read about the GTA (grand theft auto) series in the paper it always says the same thing, "Too violent" "Influences kids" "If you let your child play it your a bad person". Although this might be true some of the time GTA is the coolest and most fun videogame series on the market. You have a huge selection of cars and weapons and the city enviroments are so amazing. Plus anything that was left out in GTA3 was put in Vice City. These are two of the best games of all time so hurry up and get them today.

Great Game but do not buy for your 12 year old

I got this game for christmas and have finished a few missions on both games. It is highly addictive and very well executed game. I should let you know that I am 30 year old doctor.
I work with kids and I have realized that parents are buying this for their 8-15 year olds. I know this is just a game and differentiating between fantasy and reality is easy for a 30 year old.
A child can have problem with certain fine distinctions between the real world and game world. They can not be blamed for using certain vocabulary or actions portrayed in the game when parents have willingly bought this game as their christmas present. Please think twice or even thrice before buying any M rated games for your kids.

Saved my Holiday Season

With Halo2 being pushed back, it was tough to see what title I wanted for the Holidays. Here it is - the Gold Standard of open nonlinear videogame fun!
This is not only a great deal for Xbox owners, but the only reason I bought a PS2 after Xbox!
Let us explore the checklist, shall we:
You can perform a carjacking anytime - check!
You can run over pedestrians - check!
You can run over pedestrians in a police car that you stole - check!
You take hot girls to their drug dealers - check!

You can double cross a mob boss - check!
Oh yes, and you can pick up a prostitute - check!
Get this if you are an adult, you won't be disappointed. And spare me the "what has our society become" - it is far better than watching a bunch of self absorbed dimwits whining to each other on an island or eating roaches for cash.
And kids watch that "reality" garbage with their parents!

GTA IS Socially Beneficial!!! Tommy Vercetti for President

At least he ADMITS to being a drug dealing, psychopathic Killer!

Seriosly, I used to get all road raged in heavy traffic and drive agressively, cursing people out. Now when someone cuts me off in traffic, I smile and say "See you in Vice City."

Vice City on X-Box has it all, shinier cars, cooler graffix, and customizable radio. But hey, if you program in anything but 80's tracks (or earlier) you SUCK. So burn those now classic tracks to your xbox by the Ramones, Clash, Minor Threat, Fear, Bob Marley,Rolling Stones,New Order, Black Sabbath, AC DC, Yellowman, Toots and the Maytals, Beastie Boys (licensed to ill ONLY), Peter Tosh, The Selector, The Specials, Stevie Ray Vaughn, ETC... and DO IT. and now for my final thought.....

Why is it when some crazy a-hole kills people and plays a video game, people want to ban the video game, but when another crazy a hole kills people because he says jesus told him to, no one wants to ban the Bible?

Can't beat this double pack...

espicailly since i bought it for 30 bucks! I would have paid 50 for this though, both of these games rule!!

Alright, let's get this out of the way first, for all the whiney ass people that are all, this is disgusting, wah wah wah...well, don't play the damn game then! It's just a game!!! That's the main problem with people these days, espicailly whiney-ass babies in america. They want to blame ENTERTAINMENT for everyone's problems. Instead of actually being a responsible parent, they want to blame moveis, games, and music for all of their child's behaviour problems. Then, these same people,(like kyle's mom off of south park) go waaaay overboard and start getting petitons signed and start raising a big fuss instead of letting people have fun in a MAKE BELIEVE world. I don't go out and run people over on their motor bikes to jack them like i do in the game. I can distinguish the differnece between make-believe and reality. If you can't distinguish what is wrong and right in realtiy then yes, you shouldn't be allowed to play this game. But, for those of us that can tell the differnece between make-believe and reality, and that know what is right and wrong, then we should be able to enjoy these fine games. But, once again people want to ruin the fun for eveyone, not just their own kid or whatnot.

GTA 3 almost seemed to revolutionize gaming as we know it. The total freedom of what you can do is just astonishing. The missions are fun, the hidden package hunt is a pain, but the rewards pay off for it. The rampages and unique stunts are very fun and entertaining. This is the one that started it all for me!

GTA Vice City just simply rules. It looks like the GTA series might be over now that they released a terrible sequel(San gangsta-eras). Vice City is the perfect size, big enough for hours of play and entertainment, but easy enough to remember where everything is and where to go. The addition of motor-bikes makes it even better than part 3, but i still have a lot of fun playing part 3. The missions in this one are even better! More rampages, unique stunts, everything from part 3 but even more of it! This has to be one of the best games ever made!

All in all, both of these games rule. Yes, Vice City is the better game, but i still have a lot of fun playing part 3 too though! And for all the whiney ass "this is disgusting" people out there, remember, IT'S JUST A GAME!!!

This is one of the greatest games of all time. Parents, be warned: this game has extreme violence and shows lots of gruesome blood. It also has prostitutes, strippers, pole dancers, and naked women. This is not a game for children. In this game you can do cool stuff like steal cars kill cops and and beat up hookers. If you are old enuff or mature enuff to play this game you should get it. It is worth getting an Xbox for this game alone. The only Xbox game that is better is Halo but not by much.

Disappointing

I'm going to offer a dissenting opinion here and say that Grand Theft Auto (or at least this version of it for the Xbox) is not quite as wonderful as some of its fans would have you believe. I picked up the Double Pack after hearing friends who had PS2's rave about these games for years. I also read a few reviews that said even though the graphics may be a little out of date, the gameplay remained very compelling. Well, GTA may have been groundbreaking in its day, but I was less than impressed after making several attemps to wade into these two games. The graphics, even though they may have been updated a little more for the Xbox, are bad. Distractingly bad. The cars look okay, but the buildings in the distance (when you can see them) remind me of the background of a Sega Genesis game. I am not kidding. You'll see the same three or four characters repeated over and over again on the street, saying the same things. The way the people move is also very cartoonish and off-putting. The control scheme is frustratingly awkward as well. Whoever translated them over from the PS2 controller to the Xbox's did a horrible job. The combat system is poorly designed, and the way in which you target and fire guns leaves much to be desired. Finally, within my first fifteen or twenty minutes of playing the game I noticed two glaring bugs, the first of which was a loss of sound and the second a slowing down of the framerate to a glacial pace. Both of these occurred in Vice City, for what it's worth. If you're an Xbox owner and have not played GTA before, I would recommend just renting these games to see if they're for you instead of just buying them on the basis of word of mouth. The dialogue in the game is pretty funny and driving around the city is fun, but the missions are fairly repetitious and get to be more of a chore than anything else. Ultimately I found the booklets that came with each game more entertaining than the game itself.

Not For Kids!

GTA RULES AND THIS DOUBLE-PACK IS THE BEST! Buy this and you will get both GTA III and GTA: Vice City. These games are great, but not for kids. If your going to buy this game for a child, wait until there about 10 or 11, that is...if they're mature enough.

Two classic games, one awesome price

These are two of the best games ever. I typically play sports video games, but this game made me become a fan of these types of roll playing action games. The graphics are very smooth and the game feel is realistic. The characters voices in Vice City are from celebrities such as Ray Liota and Burt Reynolds to bring the game even more alive. If anyone is a fan of Scarface, then Vice City will be even more appealing to them because of the similarities in the game to the movie. The music stations feature hits from the 80s and it is only in the XBOX versions that you can upload your tracks that you want to the game. Both games are alike in that you start with nothing and slowly make a rise to the top by completing jobs and missions. The games are not for everyone as some of the content might be too violent for those who are not of a suitable age. I do recommend it, however, for anyone who enjoys playing video games for 10 hours straight because that is what this game will be causing you to do.
