To get it out of the way, no, you can't save mid-level, it does bite, you will have to constantly replay missions, it's no good, and we should burn this game in effigy . . .

Wait.

While the lack of saving is not the best thing on the planet, this game's pretty cool. I don't know, maybe I've got low standards or something, but this pretty much captures the essence of the movies, or at least, it did for me, and I think that's all it was supposed to do. It's a Saturday-matinee, popcorn-flick kinda game.

And just like with those kinds of movies, this is at least worth a rent.

If theres ever going to be a new indy movie...

Then this game deserves much credit in it's making. In Indiana Jones and the Emporers Tomb, there will seldomly be a part in the game where you will feel bored, the puzzles are often fresh and various, the evil villains make for a nice gunfight or fistfight and the plot, hands down made me stand up and cheer when I had finally beaten it. The only drawback.....I WANT MORE.

Great Game

I played the demo of this game and the game play is a blast. The graphics are pretty good and the sound is great. If you like a fun action game that is really close to the idiana jones movies then I would buy this game.

Underrated Game

Don't pay attention to this game reviews on IGN (6,1) and Gamespot (6,6), they don't do this game justice. Sure, the graphics could have been better, but they aren't bad at all; Indy himself are very well done, as are his animations. Yes, there are some bugs, but they don't hurt the fact that this game is very fun to play; the fights are simply fantastic, and the exploration aspects very entertaining. If you like good adventure games, with good story and challenges, this game is for you.

THIS IS THE BEST

So far this is the best game that I have ever played. It includes many concepts as in fighting, first-person shooting, and strategy. The music is phenomonal, and taken directly out the movies. The graphics and sound are nearly perfect, but there are better. This game has a ton of fighting moves. You can grab, shove, and throw people off great heights and kill them. You have to explore many stategic levels in Asia 1935. Some places are Ceylon, Prague, and Istanbul. You can use weapons such as a Machine gun, Revolver, and Luger. You can also use items scattered throughout the game such as a table leg, lead pipe, shovel, or liquor bottle. You use water to replenish your health, but that can run out. There are 20 artifacts scattered throughout the game to find. You unlock something if you get all 20. I currently have 13. This game is not appropriate for children under the age of 12 or 13. Parents may decide if they do not want guns in their childrens games. This was written by a 13-year old Indiana Jones fan, and game owner. A MUST BUY FOR INDY LOVERS!

let's kick some Nazi butt!

This is the best Indiana Jones game by far! The Infernal Machine sucked! I'm a fan of the movies and loved this game!
It's so fun to beat up Nazis, Chinese guards, Gestapo, the Black Dragon Triad, and much more!

It took me two years to beat this game and when i finally finished it, I didn't want it to be over!
You start out searching for the Idol of Kouru-Whatu, a mythical artifact located deep inside the caverens of Ceylon ( Sri-lanka). You get lots of time to get aquinted with the easy controls, and still get to kick some mercenary ass.
After that, you return to Barlem College where he is met by two people from china.
Marshall Kai, and his assistant Mei Ying, who of course becomes Indy's girlfriend.

This game is set in 1935 before the Temple of Doom. Anyway, you get hired to find a chinese artifact that was buried with the first emperor of China, Ch'in Shi'huang Ti. You go to Prague castle to search for the second part of the Mirror of Dreams, an object that can show you the hidden booby traps in the tomb.
It turns out that MarshaLL Kai is actually the leader of the Black Dragon Triad and had formed an alliance with the Nazis to recover the Heart of the Dragon. This leads to trouble and at the end you get to kill Kai with a sharp blade. All through Prague you'll be pitted against the merciless Gestapo.

Indy gets captured at prague and taken to istanbul for interogation. you break out of your cell and recover the third part of the mirror. Don't worry, the levels are easy to figure out complete with turkish/iraquis gaurds.

After that, Mei Ying invites indy to the Golden Lotus opera house in Hong Kong. Unfortuneatly, Marshall Kain interupts their quiet dinner and captures miss ying. You fight off fifty triad members and waiters before finding your way outside just as Mei is driven away in a car, tied up. You hitch a ride with Wu Han and engage in an intence shootout against cars and motorcycles pursuing you with machine guns. You end up at the docks just as mei ying and your nazi nemisis Von Beck sail away on a submarine.

you end up going to peng lai island, where kai's castle and a nazi base is located. you find a change of clothes and only keep your identity hidden for about two levels.

you get to kai's fortress and fight your way into the fortress. this is when you begin to fight zombies and other supernatural beings.

you get to the emperor's tomb and find the heart. bla bla bla........you win, after you kill of Marshall Kai. As for von beck, he falls into a bottomless pit a few levels earlier.

buy this game!

It could've been so good!

Indiana Jones games have the potencial to be great but the developer just cannot figure out that the people who would buy games of this nature want more exploration than tedious fighting.

The game's atmosphere and presentation is great. The controls are even great - for a change from LucasArts - but, you have at your disposal a whole host of weapons including the ability to duke it out with your fists. With all of the available weapons you'd think the developer would discern between their effectiveness. Such isn't the case. Just using your fists, you have to hit 6 to 7 times to take out an enemy. That's rather acceptable to me. Pulling out the available knife, to get the job done faster, takes 6 to 7 strikes to put the enemy down. Hmmm....maybe it's a dull knife. Pulling out the revolver, to get some kind of difference in effectiveness, takes 6 shots - remember, it's a revolver and only holds 6 shots - to put the enemy down. Now this is getting rediculous, especially since revolver ammo is sparce. Maybe it's weak revolver ammo. Pulling out the shotgun, the last best hope of efficiently and effectively putting down the enemy, takes 6 to 7 blasts. Ok, I've had enough!

The developer could've had such a seller on their hands but, as usual from LucasArts, they don't have even the slightest clue of what pleases gamers.

I have been debating getting Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast because of all the rave reviews of it but now, after having sampled Indiana Jones for the XBOX, I've finally decided to never ever buy anything in the way of gaming that has the LucasArts logo on it - unless it's almost free and at that, only to resell it.

Demo not the same as actual game

I bought this game at Target along with my X-Box unit. I played approximately an hour and a half of thie game. I don't recommend the game for beginning video players and for those who like good graphics.

First, in the second section of the Ceylon portion of the game, the Indy character enters a pool of water. He is expected to find his way into the ruined temple. I spent considerable time attempting to get the character to move past this point without success. I believe a more experienced gamer may have better luck. I know the reviewers at GameSpot could pass this point. (They rated the game a 6.6.)

Second, the graphics are bad. I have seen instances of Indy's arm, leg, or torso enter a wall or a plant.

Tomorrow, I am exchanging my game for a better game.

Indy? How bad can it be? Oh.....

Long wait but you knew it would be good. But it isn't.
Can't save - This is incredible- repeat, repeat, repeat. Missed
the last of 12 jumps? Back to the first.
Controls- Terrible - Hence the repeating problem. It's one
thing to miss a tough action but another to have to work with
terrible controls.
Will wait for Tombraider and avoid Lucas in the future. How could anything this bad take so long? Hey, did you guys outsource this? The product was overdue, and is poor quality.
Your reputation just took a beating. Next time hire professionals.

Beautiful graphics, Challenging and Fun!!

This game was a lot of fun. If you are familiar with the Buffy the Vampire Game you will find that the controls are very similar. It is made by the same company. Like the Buffy game, you can't save just anywhere and have to wait for the section to end before it automatically saves. I know others have complained about this but at the same time when you finally get a difficult level finished you feel greatly satisfied and I don't think you'd be able to feel that way if you could save everytime you had to go into battle or make a difficult jump.

Although Harrison Ford does not do the voice of Indy you wouldn't know it if they didn't tell you. The voice actor is great and sounds just like him.

I didn't find the controls hard to master at all with the exception of doing some of the puzzles which required you to switch back and forth between views to change stuff. That part I got a little confused about. Other than that the controls seemed smooth to operate and it has a sort of training in the beginning telling you how to do the different moves.

It had many different scenarios that were all very beautiful and well done. From scenes in a castle to scenes in a jungle and even a lot of under water swimming.

Indy has many weapons to choose from including, throwing knives, machetes, shotguns, revolvers, a whip and even a Xena like throwing thing that comes back to him.

This is a very fast paced game for some parts of it and the slightest error will kill you quick but like I said above, once you master it it's a blast to complete it.

I had one level near the end that I thought was ridiculously difficult and it was extremely frustrating to keep getting killed and then starting it all over with. It involved a lot of precisely timed jumping. It took me literally several hours to just get past that one point. But that could've just been me panicking everytime I had to start again! And there was one other part where you need to shoot down airplanes that may also have to be done many times before you can complete it.

I would've rated the game at 4.5 stars instead of 5 just for that one difficult level but because I wasn't given that option I gave it five stars.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the game is rated "Teen". Although there is no blood at some points you can shoot someone in the back of the head to kill them instantly. Some parents may not want their kids to play this because of that. Again, there isn't any blood but the act of targeting someone's head and then shooting is very violent.
