Nice game although I found it rather easy to complete. The graffics were nice but I expected much better. There really didn't seem to be much depth to this game. It all seemed very repetative. I really didn't find this game a challange at all, this is especially bad since this last gaming system I had was a Sega Genesis. Although it wasn't too challenging and got pretty lame at parts I do recommend it because it was fun at times and has some pretty cool perks, such as the bullet time feature.
NOT FOR the kiddies!

This is just a spectacular game, everything from the storyline (yes! a storyline!)to the graphics to the game play. I highly recommend to adult gamers, and it's the rare game that you want to play again immediately after the game is done............

Max Payne would be great, if you have never played Splinter Cell.
This game requires no strategy - other than jsut blasting the living guts out of everything in sight. If you like that stuff - this game is great.
But - if you like to think - even just a little bit - Splinter Cell is FAR SUPERIOR.
Max Payne's movements are very limited - he cannot hang, jump, bounce off of walls, or sneak around the way Sam (Splinter Cell) can.
The slow mo effects are very impressive - but if you jsut blast everything in sight, you can get to the next level without using it.

I found that the fact you had to use two hands to just control the figure dumbfounded. They could have took an example from the star wars games, even duke nukem from the past was more friendly to move around.
The graphics were great, the dialog could have been better. Overall, it is a pretty kewl game to play, and I did enjoy it.
Yea its ok for the xbox but the ps2 version is better

the thing that really pissed me off was that u couldnt select the level u wanted to play after u beat the game.the xbox version has no replay value at all.someone really screwed up on that. but otherwise its great

Max payne is one of the best action games there is out there on the market today. It has done very well on the pc market. With the power of the Xbox I'm sure Max Payne will be up there with major console titles such as Resident Evil. I believe this will be a great game for the Bill gates Box.

Max Payne is a great game for the hardcore gamers out there. Its got everything you'd want in a game. I bought this game after a friend told me about it and i loved it right away. Its easy to pick and play and has a great story. And the best thing is the bullet-time feature, activiated at the touch of a button. Its just like the Matrix...a must for all action gamers.

This game has gone way beyond my expectations. The incedible graphics only add to the fun of the story. The pace is not to exhausting, nor is it too slow. I have 8 Xbox games, and this one shot right to the top of my play list. Just a simple thought, but now I must go back and continue my investigation.
