The best game in a long time

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2
Date: March 06, 2004

This game was the biggest surprise for me in a long time. Great levels, weapons, enemies, upgrades, vehicles, graphics, challenge, game length, and overall fun. It's one of those games that always seems to offer something new each level you start. It has varied gameplay spanning 42 levels (and they all are different with no annoying repetition) in single player and is a great length for this type of game with about 14 levels of multiplayer that offers more replay value.
Unfortunately, this is one of those games that has not gotten as much hype as the others that were released and many people may not have played it which is a shame given that it does so many things right and offers so much.
Difficulty is tough but the games levels dictate strategy as much as just running and shooting. At first a level may seem impossible, but after trying a different approach, it actually could become very easy depending on different techniques (tethering, recruiting enemies to help you, which weapon to use and when, etc.). It never made me want to put it down (even when I had to repeatedly keep trying to pass certain points) due to there was always a way.
I know they recently dropped the price and this game is really worth the money at full price, so I have no idea what people are waiting for. If you like shooters/platformers type games, this one is a must buy. It's that good.

This game rocks! Metal Arms is a hard core shooter with just a dash of platformer in there for fun, a perfect mix. Tons of weapons, and tons of things to blow up. The AI is great, right up there with some of the very best 1st person shooters. Unlike most hard core shooters, this game does not take itself too seriously, it has a great sense of humor. The enemy robots mouthing off at you are funny. Also the robot "hijacking" is super cool. You get to take over and play as just about all of the enemies. Some of them have special abilites like jump jets and power stomps that are great for clearing out the other enemies. When you hijack a robot the other bad guys talk to you like you are one of them, it's funny. It's a tough game, but if you're ready for a challenge, you gotta play this!

I think that Metal Arms: Glitch In the System is a very good game. It's got a lot of action, some good laughs, and lots and lots of guns and upgrades. If you liked Halo you'll definetly like this. Controls are very easy to get used to, and multiplayer is very good too. Overall out of ten I'd give Metal Arms a 9.4. Thank you.

Pay no attention to Gefferey Sandene....

Im posting this because of Gefferey Sandenes review. If you have read I would like to let you know that it is entirely untrue. This game, while challenging, will not be to difficult for the average no-mentally challenged person. On easy mode you should immediately be put in extra special ed if you find it impossibe. Gefferey Sandene must not only be the worst gamer on the palnet but also up on the charts for stupidity. Glitch is a great game over all. If it had Xboxlive support or even system link for the multiplayer I would give it 5 stars but since it does not I give it 4.

Don't buy this Game! It s --NOT-- like Halo!!!

This is no way like like Halo!... I have played many games, that is puzzle solving 100%. My friends & I love to play the following games as single & multiplayer, the games like Halo, Mechassaut, Ghost Recon, Pac Man World 2, Enclave, Conclict Deasert Storm, Star Wars Jedi Outcast, Splintercell, soul Calibur II, Elder Scrolls, & Brute Force are all great games!........... This Game, METAL ARMS Glitch in the System, well my friends & I couldn't wait to get the game. We were all very dissappointent in this game. Yes there are Monsters to kill at every turn of the game. The puzzles are also there 100% of the time. What really makes this game bad, is only one game can be saved or played, each time you wish to play a new game, you must esase 100% of the old game. You can't go back to play any part of the game, without wiping the game clean & then you must start over. So what if you can play many players split screen, until your friends can finish the game, you can't play, unless you wish to esase the game in progess, so you can play. Of couse your friends game will have to start all over again. WORST GAME OF THE YEAR!!! DON"T BUY THIS TRASH!!

Another Game Like """PacMan World 2"""

I highly recommend this game for anyone who might have children who would need a game to play, This is a great game without any bloody details like morst games have. Which is why this game is so great for children.Metal Arms Glitch in the System, is very much like "Pacman World 2", so if you liked that game, you will love this one too. The graphics is a twin to "Pacman World 2". The level of play, from its tough levels to very fustrating levels of play, is "Pacman World 2" twin too. In the making of this game, some of the best points from games like Halo, Mechassault, & Ghost Recon have been programed into this game. So it is fun game overall. You will need to keep the "automatic targeting" in the profile settings on, to get through the tough level of the "Zombieking". Once the Zombie king has frozen, if you run up real close and target your sights on the Zombieking's left hip joint, (that the hip to your right), and toss the core charge into his mouth. It will greatly increase the change of killing him with time. It will take some practice to find just the right spot to aim, to get the core charge to go into his mouth. You will only have time to toss in 2-3 core charges before he will start to move. Also, as you start to kill him, othe monesters will come forth to kill you. ((When this happens, you will know that you have been successfull in hurting him)). ...

This game is insane!

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System has to be one of the best shooters around. Its got brutal fighting with lots of varied levels and gameplay, making this one of the most unique and fun games I've ever played. It has a large arsenal of great weapons and they're all upgradeable so they change throughout the game. Each class of enemy robots have their own weaknesses, so you can switch guns in mid battle to make sure you have the most efficient killing machine on hand for the next group of bots making their way over to attack you. Sometimes you'll find yourself quickly backing away to keep your distance from a charging, slashing, shrieking enemy while you switch over to a better weapon and reaload it before blasting the crazy dinosaur-animal bot to pieces. These quick monsters attack anything in sight, even other enemy robots, and only add to the already ferocious and frantic mechanical slaughter in this game.

Metal Arms is tough all-out warfare with heavy machine guns blasting, missles whizzing by, and robots exploding with limbs and parts thrown everywhere. But it's also smart and tactical with special grenades that have various effects, the tether enemy takeover weapon, and long range scoped sniper weapons, it just depends on how you play it. There are so many options to killing these bots it's crazy. Robot torture is my favorite. You can shoot a saw blade at an enemy's gun arm and make it totally unable to protect itself, with the useless weapon just hanging there and twisting around firing at the ground as the defenseless bot itself is screaming in panic because it can see you switching to the shotgun and aiming at its head. Maybe it's wrong to treat these poor little guys like this, but I don't care this is the coolest video game I've played in years.

METAL ARMS hits all the right switches

METAL ARMS: Glitch in the system is a 3rd person shooter that plays like a 1st person. In other words, it controls like any first person game, but you can see your character on the screen. It actually works surpisingly well, because you can see on both sides of your character and it adds a lot of depth to the on screen playing field.

GLITCH is a robot who is found and unburied to help his fellow robots defeat the evil GENERAL CORROSIVE and his army from taking over the place.

The games story is very well structured. Like HALF-LIFE, you are thrown into the action and the story takes place as you play.

I found the game controls to be one of the best I have ever played. It was so comfortable and natural. The control scheme was like that of HALO. The only downside is that you cannot adjust the controls. You get the one setting and thats it. But, they have adjusted it to perfection. Remember playing HALO and driving those tanks were kind of difficult. I spent more time backing up from walls I hit than driving that thing. In METAL ARMS its perfect. Every vehicle drives and responds differently, but they all control so well.

The graphics are wonderful. It rivals the best of the X-BOX. They spent a lot of time on the little details and it shows. Since your robot is seen on the screen, you see his every bolt and wire. When he gets shot enough, he may lose a limb or it may dangle by a few wires behind him.

I was playing multi player with my wife (who also plays video games like theres no tommorrow) when she blew by right arm off. It dangled to the side barely attached. The great part was I could still fire it, but couldnt move it to aim. It was hilariuos. I ran for my life !!

I have played story mode through about half of the game. I dont want to give anything away, but the story rivals HALO's. Its great and the cut scenes are entertaining and most importantly FUN TO WATCH !! Unlike a METAL GEAR SOLID, I did not want to miss these cut scenes.

The Music and sound are top notch too. The music builds up and slows with the action on screen. When you blast the bots they whine and scream as if their actually in pain !! They taunt you from afar and some bots even swore at me !

The reason I usually buy any game is so I can play multi player battles. For me, that is most important.
So, I started up a multi player battle and ended up playing for hours. The multi player boards are smart and big enough to keep things interesting. The variety of weapons and vehicles are amazing.

I did not even mention the greatest part yet. You have this tool that shoots a wire into enemy bots. When you "Link" up to them you control them. Then you become that bot and you can do whatever you want with him. Have him shoot all the other bad bots or just run him into the lava pit below. You can also "link" up to bots in multi player mode, which adds tons of replayability.

The downsides are that you cannot add bots to the multi player battles. Also, the difficulty level for the actual one player story mode is quite steep. But, thats a good thing, because when you beat a level you feel you have actually accomplished something.

I am having a riot with this game and recommend it to everyone. It was suprising to me that it was this good. I took a chance on this game and it paid off.

BEST SHOOTER SINCE HALO!!!

This game is DEFINITELY the best third-person shooter ever, and probably should be considered one of the best shooters ever. The bad thing is this game may not sell much, due to a lack of publicity, but if you read this, I suggest you buy this game. Overall, the only bad thing in this game is some pretty annoying/hard levels. But its got the best multiplayer levels ever, and the perfect length for campaign mode.
Overall: 12/10!
