A genre of games that gets alot of action but not alot of GOOD action is 3rd person shooters. It is a simple feat to slap together a game where you run around and shoot the bad guys. It is a difficult feat to bring in something new. Metal Arms, however, completely surprised me. It is THE best 3rd person out there. I'll tell ya'll why.

Metal Arms brings things to 3rd person games that have never existed before. You got your cool weaponry, neat bad guys, nice terrain, AND your ability to hack into and control enemies, super cool vehicles that you actually get to use in more than one level, and some extremely impressive graphics. Seriously, this game is like a breath of fresh air for those of us who got our hopes up over Brute Force.

I think the number is seventeen weapons (everyone else says that) that you get to use. And the good thing is you use ALL of them throughout the whole game. You find upgrades for the weapons, so your never in the situation where you really like a certain type of weapon at the beggining of the game, but it does squat in the later levels.

There are three types of vehicles. A RAT (long, speedy vehicle with a gun in the back) a tank (my favorite) and a thing I don't know what its called (a thing with a machine gun and pincher claws that can pick enemies up in the front). The only thing they could have added is a flying vehicle, but its all good. And another thing, some games claim they have vehicles and you only get to use them in one or two levels. Not so in Metal Arms. There are vehicles all throughout the game, sometimes they are even hidden in a corner somewhere and you can use it if you want.

The graphics were something else. Cool explosions and diverse detailed environments made for a never-got-old game expierience. The enemies also were looking mighty fine.

The ability to hack into enemies is nice in the campaign mode, but to the max cool in multiplayer. My friends and me have extremely long fights where you have to destroy the robot the person is controlling and then find him. It is really neat and adds alot of replayability into the multiplayer.

I really don't know why this game isn't more popular. I was gonna get it, but then held off when I saw the price had dropped. I don't know who decided that, but it turned out good, because I didn't have to pay as much for an awesome and crazy shooter. My advice: BUY THIS GAME. I did, and it made me HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

5 stars at last

This is one of the few (and I mean few) games on the Xbox that I would actually give 5 stars. I am a very harsh critic of games, esepcially those that end up on the Xbox that are over-hyped and don't live up to expectations. I grabbed this from a bargain-bin on impulse and man, I truly enjoyed it. The game is not meant to be taken serious, so has nothing to try and live up to. It is simply based on being fun - remember when games were just fun? You play a small robot with no real advantages and nothing special about you, but you have a great assortment of really interesting weapons that are all fun to use. You can even hack into other robots and control them for added fun.

With nothing to complain about I will keep my review short - if you haven't tried this game, do it.

Wow, this game rocks! It is 95% bot destroying, pieces flying, metal clanking, non-stop action with just a few puzzles here and there. It has 4 difficulty settings, and on Easy this game is pretty easy to destroy even multiple enemies. But its most fun on normal. If you like Halo, this game comes very close. It has a ton of enemies, weapons, vehicles, and minigames and has something like 40+ levels. It also has 4 player split screen multi player action with many types of games you can play. My brother and I got this last week and we (and our friends) haven't been playing anything else. Buy Metal Arms. It's totally worth the money! Great game! I highly recommend it.

One day I got onr of those official xbox magazines, and it came with one of those demo packed game disks. The disk had a veriety of games, one of those games was Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System. My friend and I played the demo, and we loved it. The game had awsome graphics and cool wepons. I like the S.P.E.W, its kinda like an assult rifle. I am going to get the game in a few weeks. Just think about this the demo disk only came with one level for Metal Arms and just by playing that one level I thought the game was awsome. So if your looking for a nice game for xbox, PS2, or Game Cube I think you should get Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System..... the best game since halo!!!

It took me awhile to get into this game but once I did it became one of my favorite titles. Not as good as HALO but it is a great way to divert yourself while you wait for HALO 2.

Fustrating and Poorly Programed DO NOT BUY!

The levels of play are incorrectly listed. Easy, is in truth, Very Difficult, and it gets worst with each level upwards. With some levels that are impossible to complete with any success, except with a lucky attempt, that one can never do twice in an hour of play. An example of this, is the level that is called "Zombie Bot King". After several hours of play, I was still unable to kill it. This bot takes large steps as it chases you, and a huge weapon that does a lot of damage, when it hits you & it has the range to hit you. Any damage done to the bot, results in the bot standing still for 5-10 seconds, to totally recharge its health. This bot can't be killed with damage done to its outer heavy armored skin. One it takes so much damage, it frezzes for about 6-8 seconds, with its mouth open, "a 1 inch target" which you can shoot about 7 missles inside it, before it becomes active and kills you with one swing of its weapon. The throwing of the grenades at the open mouth at close range will miss 95% of the time, while it will do great damage to yourself each time it explodes. Once its active again, it will have totally recharge all of its health, while your bot is hurt, and its weapons are must be reloaded with weapons laying at a distance from you. There is a very short time limit before you loss. Info on the net, one person said they got lucky in killing this bot with the time alloted for your attempt to kill it. Each time it stops to recharge, you must put 4 each of the rockets and 4 grenades inside the bots mouth, all 8 weapons must explode inside the bot's mount, without slightly hitting the edge of the mouth, and with in the 8 second the bot is recharging. Of couse you must stay at a distance doing damage to the bot until it stops, then it takes about 2 seconds to get close enough to fire your weapons. Oh the weapons can't fire very fast, and the grenades miss the mouth opening, while it does damage to you, and you must use at least 1 second to excape when this bot becomes active. So in truth you have 5 seconds to throw grenades and fire the rockets. Of course to throw & fire 4 each, it take about a minimum 6 seconds. Each time you die, you get to start this level over, again & again. And this is called the very easy level. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!

A perfect blend of chaos and strategy!

I spent 20 minutes just trying to get past the first platformer style jumping obstacle. I never made it. No matter what angle I approached the jump from I could never make it across to the target platform. I hate games that have obnoxiously difficult obstacles.

Definitely rent this one before you buy it.

Fun and Brilliantly Programmed BUY THIS GAME !!!

Wow I just completed this game and I have to say its one of the most fun games I have ever played. My favorite level was called the zombie king boss. You had to toss grenades into his mouth to destroy him! It was a little easy to do but really fun any way. When you finish the game you can go back and play any level and I play that one a lot.
Now that Ive played the game on the normal difficulty level I am now playing it again on hard. Normal was a little easy but hard is defintly harder. Thats one of the best things about this game is that you can play it over and over and each time its different.
I havent hat this much fun playing a game since halo and Metroid Prime. I highly recommend it. Oh yea and the graphics are awesome!
