this game is awesome! but a little like halo.this is a RPG game and is awsome! But when you run out of ammo, you gotta find more. You have to give this game a chance when you start out, after you beat a few levels. The bosses, however, are quite hard...Well,the first one isnt that hard, but the rest are! You fight in the game aliens. But there is a real story though, exept in the second Coded arms:Contagion there is.So load up and get ready for a action packed adventure!!!PLEASE COMMENT AND READ AND ALSO RATE.thank you.:)

This is one of the first games i got for PSP and one of my favorites. Though the controls don't seem that great at first, they get easily eventually. I ended up turning off all aiming assists and that helped, but made the game harder. I was somewhat disappointed that there wasn't really a ending. It just keeps generating levels. The graphics are pretty good.

not a really good game

a decent 1stps, it only needs a few tweaks to make it better if they decide to make a similar game. The graphics a really good for a psp game, but it is really repetitive and you arent really doing different thing besides boss things. it would be cooler if it had a mode where you can have a deathmatch w/o having any people over. the psp is still a baby and isn't really recognized by the people like the consoles or the gba, but the games will get better like this one should of been

good but could have been better

coded arms for the psp is visually by far one of the best games on the psp. however looks are not everthing and coded arms only gets 3 stars (about 69%) for me because the random level generation can sometimes become repetitve and it only changes the levels slighty with longer corridors etc. coded arms has a steady frame rate unlike some of the prevois games on the psp eg. gta. the choice of weapons u get r pleasing. sometimes however in some of thbe levels u get the feeling that konami have rushed its devolpment . eg. some of the levels feel like they could have been made better and the enimies are not challenging enough. Also i feel like there could have been a better story instaed of u being a hacker and randomly challenging a computer game for a cash prize. but if u like a game with not alot of story then tahts fine it just could have used a bit more meat to sink your teeth into.I have to say though konami has added a few nice touches such as when u enter a room the room loads out in front of u when u open the door in a bright yellow mirrage and when u shoot the wall u see the wall turn yellow as if u have damaged the computer programs code. this gives it a matrix like feel to it.
In conclusion i would say fps has a promising future on the psp but coded arms is not it

Not Good

Coded Arms for the PSP is a game that is more repetetive than anything, and isn't even fun to play. Here is my review.

Graphics: 6.5/10 The best thing about this game is definitely the graphics. They aren't as good as some PSP titles out right now, but they are still pretty good. A decent framerate that usually holds out in mini-battles, that's the best part about it.

Sound: 7/10 There really isn't that much sound besides guns shooting and hearing the repetetive sounding creatures make the same noise to you every few seconds. Nothing special here.

Control: 6.5/10 Like most PSP shooting games, the controls are terrible. There are different ways to customize how you want to control, but this is just another example of why Sony should have put two analog nubs on the PSP.

Gun: 6/10 This game is downright repetetive. Nothing different happens for pretty much the whole game. Get through the level by killing "gate keepers" and voila. You will beat the game. It's not that hard, but it's REALLY not fun. So if you want to play a decent shooter for the PSP, look elsewhere. I suggest SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo. Stay away from Coded Arms.

6/10

Rotten FPS

Buy this only if you're crazy for FPS gameplay and can't live without it for PSP. Awkward controls (no matter how they're configured) and difficult but incredibly repetative game play make this a loser. Wait for Doom or another well-done game.

cool!!!!!!!!

man first of all this game kind of sucks the lack of controls suck but version A of controls is better the graphics are O.K. but when you keep playing it for a while it looks like the same place? over and over again! this game is really repetitive soo if you dont like hard games this is not for you but if you do it could still not fit you because really the whole game lacks off alot but one thing i noticed is that the battery life is longer than games like tony hawks and dead to rights! thats good! but still its not the best but the sound is good love when shooting those big guns and machine gun ect. but if you get use to any of the controls within 30 minutes it will be a fun game but i recommend you to keep with A version of controls! overall it depends on how you like a game!

graphics 6/10 its better than average
sound 8/10 good
gameplay 6/10 same levels!

overall= 6.9 could of done better for the second shooter game on the psp! but its better than dead to rights!

It's not horrible, but it's also not enjoyable.

When the PSP was revealed along with its games, it was heralded as a revolution in handheld design and functionality. One of its flagship titles was Coded Arms. Unfortunately, after all the hype and all the screenshots, Coded Arms fails to live up to lofty expectations.

Graphically, Coded Arms is absolutely gorgeous. Considering this is a first generation PSP game and that the hardware can still dish out so much more is simply amazing. The visuals are extremely polished, very good and the game has no slowdown. Unfortunately, most of the game is spent indoors in factories and simulations, so they never really are fully appreciated. The music doesn't really wow, and considering it is an FPS, it doesn't really need to. It's solid and such in terms of effects, so there aren't really any problems in these two categories.

Where Konami really dropped the ball was just about everything else. The controls give you a variety of options, but the default settings are garbage; you will almost certainly need to go back and recalibrate it for more comfort. The PSP can play an FPS for sure after you get used to it, just not as comfortably as you might want it to.

The gameplay is what really drags the game down. The game really is nothing more than a simulator. It creates a bunch of random stages that mostly look the same. While you would think that would be better for replay value, the fact is that most of the stages randomly created have just been changed slightly perhaps in enemy locations, but really, they are all virtually the same with the same enemies. Doing so makes things more complicated than necessary, but really gives you the feeling that the developers were too lazy to design real levels and so just added in a random generator as an excuse. Enemy variety is almost non-existent as well, and even the ones that are present are very bland and unexciting.

Coded Arms, with just a bit of tweaking, mainly in its gameplay and controls could have been an amazing game. It's easily and quite possibly, the best looking handheld game on the market, but you wouldn't know that based on it's generic and unwelcoming look right down to the box art. My recommendation: save your money for a more worthy game.
