I bought this game sight unseen on the advice of a friend. After playing it for a few weeks, I have decided that I will not buy take the advice of this friend anymore.

This game is OK but it just feels lame and I wasn't able to get into it. I had great expectations of a war game where I would be able to blast Iraqis. Instead, I got a game with a cheesy plot, poor controls, and low quality graphics.

YOU ARE ACTUALLY IN THE ARMY!!!!! THE ONLY DOWN SIDE OF THIS GAME IS THAT ONCE YOU HAVE BEAT IT THE BRITISH FORCE THAT YOU CAN ALSO BE IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE US FORCE!!!!! ANYWAYS

When i first started to play this game, it took a bit to get used of the controlles but once i did, i couldn`t put it down. controlling your force was the best idea they could come up in a game. the graphics are outstanding- from city to desert sandstorms. it would be more challenging if you got to control more than just 4 guys and you got to use more armored vehicles. other than that i really enjoyed the game.it`s worth the money!!

When i first heard about this game i thought it would be a really good game! But when i played it, the controls were really hard! I had to keep on looking at the controls in the booklet! It has good details, auto-aiming, and good videos before hand. And another thing, i riped out the rocket launcher(to shoot a tank)and all-of-a-sudden it was gone and i had nothing to hurt it! Thats what i think of Desert Storm.

This game is horrible. Control is very akward, graphics are not up to par with current games, and the game seems to have been rushed into production. If you want a game in this genre, look to SOCOM for the PS2. It is the best out there by far.

This game is such a dissappointment, I won't waste much time telling you how bad it is, but heres a quick overview:
Control: Horrible, worse than SOCOM1(thats the FIRST one, mind you)
Graphics: Okay I guess, nothing too...*runs*
Sound: Music is HORRIBLE in this game, makes me want to throw the system out the window while shooting it with an RPG7
Idea: Yes, the idea was very good, the only good thing about it
Okay Im going to stop now. Don't buy this game. TRUST ME...

I got desert Stoem 2 and absolutly loved it so now i'm going to buy the 1st on i will tell you about it when i get it.

This game, released only a few months before the ill-named Operation Iraqui Freedom, is an obvious manipulation of public opinion and propaganda. The fact that this game is intended for people as young as thirteen, who don't have any real knowledge of what is happening in the Middle-East is astounding and makes it apparent that it is just another attempt to reinforce the status quo of America=Good, Saddam=Bad, while the truth is and will continue to be America=Bad, Saddam=Bad. Save your money and don't buy into corporate produced, highly patriotic games which only reinforce the notion that war is a game. The use of video footage from the battle field, the jargon of "smart bombs" and video games such as this one are an ill-concieved, yet seemingly effective strategy to take pressure off of the real situation, one in which you can't just continue after you're shot. Wake up distracted America. The government is your enemy.

Inappropriate War Game for Young Teens

At a time when we should be doing all we can to avert a war with Iraq, this game promotes war and killing in Iraq to our young teenagers. I, as a parent of a 13 and 16-yr old, do not want my kids playing games that teach them how to kill with graphic, real-life cartoon characters. As a nation, we should be promoting peace, not war, to our children. Those who profit from such games, and desensitize our children about the horrors of real war and death, should be ashamed.
