Not too casual Friendly....

While this is definitly the "better" soccer game. I personally found it to be quite challenging. If you're not a hardcore soccer fan or just wanna relax, i recommend you get FIFA instead. While i don't consider myself a huge Soccer fan, but i've been playing the winning eleven series since the 16-bits day. This game took quite some time to get used to, and will cause some frustration. The control are pretty solid and responsible but its hard to master. Also this game is very "Soccer Realistic". You'll find yourself passing the ball very so often in order to find the open space for a shot unlike FIFA where you could charge inside and shoot. Not a casual friendly as FIFA but is easily the better Soccer game for hardcore fan.

Lets all take a moment.................

.........to say how great Winning Eleven 6 is. Based on the best selling game Pro Evolution Soccer 2, Winning Eleven brings the reality of soccer onto the games console, no more wild goals from 40 yards of crazy flips like in other soccer sims, this is full on realism at its best, yes it has its flaws, the master league really doesn't compete with the likes of FIFA which has the offical stuff in it, but you adjust, the game it self real is fantastic, I used to love the FIFA series but now thats all change, if you are tired of the same old same old try this, if you haven't already WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING! If you are interested a new one will be realised soon so watch out for that but in the mean time rent this game buy this game borrow this game steal this game, do whatever you can becasue when you play it I think that night you won't sleep that well, or you might not sleep at all, Long live Winning Eleven

The best ever!!!!!!

This is a great game definalty worth buying. Hours of great game play. Realistic masters league mode. great controls. My only problem is the Club teams don't go by the correct names.. for instance Manchester United is named Aragon? Go figure. None of the Holland team members have names. They all go by Orange and the their number. Even when you win the international cup with them and get Holland natoinal team. So when you are playing and Rudd VanNistelrooy scores a goal it says Orange number 10 scored. Even when its with Aragon(Man Utd.) When the ball is taken away from you by another player, you lose control of your player for a couple of seconds and by then the ball is half way down the pitch. Other than those, the game is the best football game ive played.

Definetly the Ulitmate Football Game

I am so glad that this Game has finally arrived in the US after leaving my asian ps2 with winning eleven 6FE in singapore its been 3 months of sleepless nights. This game is that good. Just because of the gameplay and fun you will get out of it... its always different and if anyone wants to really play soccer on any console this is definetly the game.. FIFA is not good in fact it blows real hard.. compared to we6 after playing this you will never want to play fifa.. its an insult to the beutiful game

As the biggest "Fussball Fan" I hate to do this but I must -----------------CAUTION! ------------ No Licenced Teams and Players! No Licence to play a UEFA Cup? No real Jerseys? Everything said about this game is true, lovely gameplay, graphics, but to me it's worthless without the REAL Teams & Players. Do you really want to play Moskinastaat against Fornatian?

That more can be requested !!

Winning Eleven 6 is by far the most entertaining and rewarding soccer game released on any format. It's arcade-approach to presentation makes the game very easy to understand and to enjoy. Navigating the menus is easy as is changing options, unlike in FIFA where the aesthetics of the presentation have become more important than functionality. Loading times have also been greatly improved. Above all the masterful gameplay, which is easy for beginners but rewards hardcore players, is worthy of praise. Some surprising bugs and slight slowdown don't detract much from the overall experience. Give it a spin and it'll convince you, stay for a while and you will be hooked forever...

great game!

Are you sure you are playing winning eleven 6? are you in medication? I am a huge soccer game fan for a long time, I consider myself a very good soccer game player, but I still couldn't win one single match in the master league mode in NORMAL setting after playing this game for 2 days, this is by far the hardest soccer game I have played. Unlike other stupid soccer game which harden the game by cheating (computer controlled team are way faster), this game beat the players in a fair ground, this game is difficult simply because it has the most intelligent AI in all soccer games. The other aspect in which this game is way better than the FIFA series is the shooting scheme, you control your shooting power by controlling how long you press the shooting botton before releasing it(like virtual soccer), this is by far the most logical shooting system. FIFA's shooting system is just too limited.

The Best

After playing Winning Eleven 6 even just a short while, you are left with certain questions: Why play any other soccer simulation? Have the people who make FIFA ever played soccer, or seen it live, or even watched it on tv? Winning Eleven 6 is the best soccer simulation I have ever played, and I have played a lot. The players move like real people, the ball bounces like in a real game. It is refreshing to make goals in different ways each and every time. Of course, we would all wish they could have got the full FIFA license so we would play full season in the Premiere League, but if you are a fan of the beautiful sport the only video game that can give it to you is Winning Eleven 6.

I would have given 5 stars, but 3.5 stars, because...

... Level 3 and up is too hard. My first soccer game. I was looking for best, b/c I enjoy some aspects of the game though I'm an American. I played soccer a little and enjoyed it. I read the reviews here. Yes, the game emulates the game well of real life and the thrills. But, the difference in difficulty between level 2 and 3-5 is too much.

Unless you're really good with controls and all, this game is too hard from level 3 and up. I was playing with France, which has best rating in the game, and I still can't win a game after 15 or so games. I am at a point of giving up on level 3.

But, level 2 is getting too boring, because you can just outrun everyone.

It's really difficult shooting. You have to get used to it. But, when you're fighting to get the ball up the field, you forget the shooting techniques. (Fighting to get ball up: at level 3 and up, you just can't seem to win balls on long lob passes, which should be 50/50 or better depending on the players. And, the computer seem to steal too well. Think 20 minutes of sheer fighting. Fun, but tiring, but can't score!)

Otherwise, great graphics. Love the feel to the game. Customizable players and teams.
