this game is actually in my opinion the best soccer game ever i have played so far. the master league is addictive and will keep you busy playing more and more----pro

now what makes me give this game 3/5 well let see. the game is addictive but playing it will make your finger sweating. the Com A:I in this game is very challenging. imagine me playing in easy difficulty and it was very challenging and takes a longer time to score goal.
i also find the commentary repetitive and not only that, winning a cup should give the player free time to celebrate with their cup but you won't find that in this game instead if you win a cup it will show your team picture with holding a cup.
overall the game is good but annoying with the difficulty level. i will say buy the game if you don't care how difficulty it is! Hope this help

Best Football (sorry Soccer) game ever!

A triumph of substance over style. Don't buy this game if you want the best graphics or sound - FIFA rules that area. If you want the best gameplay their is no equal to this game. Turn off the awful commentary and enjoy. While the graphics are OK, in a perfect world we would have Konami and EA Sports collaborate to produce the perfect game.

It has got real club teams!

Just to clarify things; Konami did not purchase the license so they took the best teams, modified the players' names slightly and created new team names. But yes, Manchaster, Real, Roma, etc. are all in. You can easily edit the names, jerseys, logos - go to gamefaqs.com and look under faq for a list of all the teams - I have played all sorts of soccer games for years and this beats everything, including Fifa- Gameplay Baby, gameplay!...
You just have to be patient - this is a soccer sim - you can't just pick up your pads and expect to beat a high level. This must be the only game where formation, tactics, etc do matter.

Outshines FIFA in a Head to Head Trial

I wasn't sure which soccer game to purchase for PS2, Fifa or Winning Eleven. Thanks to Electronics Boutique, I was able to play both games back to back. First up was Winning Eleven and was I blown away. The gameplay was so smooth and intuitive. Didn't have the "official" teams, so I tried out FIFA, and sure enough it had all the "real" teams. I like that, but when I started to play it, aaggghhh! Felt horrible, no smooth control of the players. I haven't regreted buying Winning Eleven since.

Realistic... Maybe too much

This is the most realistic soccer game available today. But hard to play... Be prepared to spend a lot of time learning it.

This is a little different from the Japanese version, so don't expect the exact same game.

From a soccer fan, a video game fan: simply the best game.

I have played all the soccer games in all kinds of consoles, from Pele's soccer in atari, Goal for nintendo, ISS for Nintendo 64, and of course EA sports Fifa series from the 92 or 93 version to 2003. But let me tell you that the more realistic game is this one, it is a shame that we do not have access to the latest konami soccer games, I know that there is new version of this game called winning eleven 6 final evolution.
I hope you enjoy this game as much as I have. A lot of options and challenges.

The best soccer game in the console world

This game is simply the best soccer simulation in the PS2 (or any platform) today. If you love soccer or if you like realistic sports simulation, do yourself a favor and get this game immediately. I bought the import version of this game a year ago for $, and I think I get every single of my pennies worth. Now that this game is available in the US and for only $, what can you go wrong!?

If you are shopping for a soccer game you are probably also thinking and FIFA 2003 or 200x by EA. I have both game and let me tell you if you want unrealistic arcade style soccer (just dribble the ball and do your spin moves like basketball without turning the ball over), then FIFA 200X maybe for you. But if you truely appreciate the instant gratification of a goal, the strategy, the offensive build-up, realistic animation, (instead of 6-0 scores in FIFA 200X), go get this game!

The only complaint I have for this game is the clubs do not have names (i.e., Arsenal becomes "London")

Can't get any better!

I bought this game a week ago and I can't stop playing it.I'm a huge soccer fan and Winning Eleven 6 is the greatest soccer game I have ever played. This game is simply the best soccer game ever made. A thousand times better than FIFA 2003.

Awesome!

The graphics are terrific! This is the only video game that kept my soccer player son and three of his teammates inside and captivated for hours. These are boys who would rather be playing soccer - so to find something that was realistic enough for them to appreciate gets our thumbs up.
