Groundbreaker

Tomb Raider was one of the original Play Station games that made the system so great, and even if they've improved the graphics they still can't improve the fun. This is one of the most copied games ever, and even the sequels didn't quite get it right. A mix of adventure, action, role-playing, and puzzle-solver, Tomb Raider is a must have for any serious video game player.

Just buy it

Ive had Tomb raider since July and this game is off the meters!! When I first played it, I was frustrated with the controls, but once u learn them, this game is the best!!! The worlds are long and puzzling, but its never too hard to finish. The action and suspense make u feel like its a movie. I reccomend this to anybody who likes action or 007 fans like me. You WILL love it, trust me.

My wife and I first learned of Tomb Raider while living in Japan. We babysat a playstation while its owner visited the States over New Years holiday. We were stunned by the opening music as the Playstation powered up, and sat amazed as the game unfolded. The instructions were in Kanji, so we spent quite a few lives learning the controls. My wife drawing and reholstering her pistols a dozen times or more while a pack of wolves nipped at our heels--me grabbing the controls in a manic panic--it was great (frantic) fun. When we moved back to the States, we picked up a Playstation and a Tomb Raider game. It was just as much fun, just as addictive and we return to it even after TRII, Last Revelation and Chronicles. The music on the first level alone is worth the price of admission! I'm now planning to buy the pc version just to have my windows schemes keyed to TR music. What fun! Let the games begin!

I have purchased this game from Toy's R Us and i thought that it was really fun. It's about Lara Croft, who is searching for the lost city of Atlantis. You fight wolves, monkeys, bats and more with ten weapons including uzis. This game is now on the greatest hits list for Playstation. I think that $19.99 for this game is a very good price.

I still remember the day I bought this game out of curiousity and fell in love with the 3D adventures of Lara Croft. The graphics are still good, the control is perfect and the level design is awesome. Finally, a game that let you play as a cool protagonist, adventuring all over the world, out smarting villians along the way. If you haven't bothered to buy this game, I urge you to buy it at this super cheap price. See why over 9 Million people worship the adventures of Lara.

A Classic Adventure Game

I can easily say that this is my favorite game of all time. The graphics and cut scenes are amazing, the levels are beautifully done and very exciting, and controlling Lara is a lot of fun. I was never bored with any part of the game, nor did I get frustrated at it for being too difficult. The combination of excitement and difficulty was done just right - not too much or too little of either. The worlds Lara travels through are enchanting, and I love the fact that she's a strong female lead in an amazing game. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the games in the Tomb Raider series, but I feel as though this one, being the pioneer of the series, is a true classic.

Understand why millions are in love T.R.!

Ok, ok.I don't LOVE the game. But still it didn't stop me from getting a 5 disc score.I suggest if you're new to the series, keep in mind you'll be shooting a majority of animals, not humans, to any hardcore Metal Gear Solid people. Well to start things off Lara goes to Peru, Incan Ruins, Egypt, and even Atlantis in search of an item called the scion.Whilst blasting the occasional wolf or lion into oblivion, I must admit that the levels can be annoying once you practically searched every crevice, hallway, etc. for the switch to your exit and that I had to use the level skip code more than once. But, what the hell. It's a great game.No mistake.

A True Classic

From the ancient Incan ruins of Peru, the classical Greek-Norse Roman world, the Eygptian pyramids and tombs, to the nightmarish fantisy dreamworld of Atlantis, this game is a true classic and simply the best game in the series. Here are some examples:

-Excellent 3-D levels such as:
1.Caves
2.City of Vilcambamba
3.Lost Valley
4.Tomb of Qualopec
5.St. Francis' Folly
6.Colosseum
7.Palace Midas
8.The Cistern
9.Tomb of Tihocan
10.City of Khamoon
11.Obelisk of Khamoon
12.Sanctuary of the Scion
13.Natla's Mines
14.Atlantis
15.The Great Pyramid

-Great weapons such as:
Pistols
Shotgun
Magnums
Uzis

-Deadly enimies such as:
Creatures of Atlantis,
wolves, alligators,bears,raptors
and a T-Rex

-Great items for puzzels such as:
All kinds of keys, a gold idol, lead bars,
machine cogs, and artifacts of Eygpt

Also a great plot! In her first adventure, Lara sets out to find the Scion, an artifact of Atlantis. Natla, who sends her out on her informat, haunted me troughout the game by setting out a squad of people... who kept on shooting at me when I least expected. I managed to beat the whole game without a guide (mabye with a few tips but nothing else) but it wasn't easy. The game is filled with impossibilities. The first level made me think this would be a nice easy action game, but as I kept on playing I found out I was extremly wrong. But its a wonderful game nothingless. People who play will be stunned for days. I highly call it my favorite game yet.

Cool for sure, but some slight flaws...

I like it, but this game is especially hard to figure it out, and it's just about impossible to find secrets. But other than that, the controls are great and easy, the guns rock, and the originality of the producers is AWESOME!
