This is a very good game but not spectacular (felt Zelda on N64 was beter. Can you help me find Clark? I was told to go to Skull's Cave to meet with him to fight pirates. I go there, enter the cave, see the skull and lava, BUT NO CLARK!

I rented the game and had high expectations...but this is what I got....

The game has an excellent story line...too bad they ruined it by getting off the point, non clear directions, and well whoever made this game needs help concentrating! well the graphics are OK....not anything good, but bearable although a few times I couldn't tell land from water and died. then there is the camera (viewing) is way too weird! I mean half the time I couldn't see where I was going! but the worst part of this game was the errors!... this happened several other places also! and if you didn't save your game you lose everything! one other thing was some of the rides like the rollercoaster (if you call it that) will make you sick to your stomach...on the rollercoaster all you are doing is spinning very very fast. and they set it up so it appears on the screen that you are sitting on the seat ...still get headaches from just the thought of it. if you want to try the game be sure to rent it first!!! and make sure you get pretty far in the game (past the first mask) because that is where the trouble starts.

A Fabulous Retooling

My lord, when I played the first level of this game I was in awe of the graphics. They were far more superior than the Dreamcast's. I played through the levels and found new twists and amazing features. The power of the Playstation2 releases the full potential of this game that the Dreamcast only caught the tip of the iceberg on. This game let me play it for hours and it is truly the first great game of 2001 for playstation2. I was a fan of the earlier versions of rayman that were so spectacular originally. Once again the people at UbiSoft have raised the bar for gaming excellence.

Wow. That's it. This game is outstanding. I can't believe how much detail Ubisoft but into this! The graphics are amazing and the music and sounds are great. This is definetly a must have for the Playstation 2, along with Madden 2001 and Sugglers Run. Trust me and all the reviews, this game is great. Buy it right now on amazon.com. You will NOT regret it.

Best non-sports PS2 game

I recently purchased Rayman 2 and it is the best non-sports game released by PS2. Aside from its detailed graphics, each level is full of challenges. The game just keeps going and going. I highly recommend this game to anyone who has played Mario-64 or Sonic, only Rayman 2 is fifty times better. Every board unlocks new challenges, and requires thought and trial and error to conquer each level. Which keeps the gamer going and going.

Great Game

I am a Mario fan at heart, but until Nintendo gets their act together and comes out with a good system and a new Mario series, I will place my bet (and my money) on PS2.

Rayman 2 had great graphics, especially on a 27-inch Trinitron with S-Video. Warning: It might make you a little dizzy if you play it for too long. I thought the gameplay was somewhat challenging. Kids would like it but the earlier reviews are true when they talk about how confusing the directions can be.

Two Hints: 1. If you can't get past Whale Bay, find one of Globox's kids first (beyond the well in Globox's garden.)

2. If you can't find Clark in the Skull Cave, you will find him on the beach at Whale Bay.

Other than a few errors in language translation (the developers are French) the gameplay and flow are very smooth, good obstacle/walkthrough, and very cinematic.

I have enjoyed Rayman as much as SSX.

Rayman is a great game for the family. After playing both Zelda,s on 64 we have been trying to find something equal. We bought the playstation 2 6months ago, this is close. I highly recommend Rayman 2.

My First Platform Game was Great!

I'd never played a 3d platform game before Rayman: Revolution, but now I've been introduced to a whole new type of game I enjoy. From simple running around and jumping to basic throwing energy orb fighting, the game blends a great mix of game play.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the game was all the different styles of play you get to do. You're not just running around jumping on platforms. You'll get a chance to ride missiles on the ground and in the air, barefoot water ski across a swamp, ride plumbs down lava streams, and even pilot a flying pirate ship through canyons.

The storyline was cute and fun to follow. I found the animation to be pretty amazing during many levels. I greatly enjoyed just letting go of the controller for a while and watching what Rayman would do when he got bored.

From time to time the camera angles would position in ways I didn't like and the game wouldn't let me change them, but these times were rare and never at a very important point.

The puzzles weren't very complicated, but searching for yellow lums (magic items you can use to up your powers) is great fun. There are 1,000 in the game scattered throughout the levels and by the time I beat it (in about 16 hour of gameplay) I had only found 700. So I went back to play many earlier levels in search of the elusive lums.

The replay value is a probably low. Once you've beat the game you'll want to track down more of the lums, but tracking down all 1,000 of them proved to frustrate me and I finally gave up. The game sits on my shelf now, and I don't expect it to move.

Overall, the game is a great fun. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, the scenery is beautiful, and the game play gives a wide variety of styles.
