story mode; -the Dialoge. -The Gore; -Their are plenty a lot
stuff implanted in this; -Zombie Horror Series.. -I'm a fan of
"Night of the Living Dead." -1960. -And; -the movies whiched
had fallowed after. -But; -the games are no. -"Night."
"Version's." -Of it. -This reminds me of other horror

Zombie movie cliche's..! -Any way. -I have; -The Greatest
hits. -Version.! -Not the play; -Clair and Chris; -Version.!
I find; -Clair real tough; -though; -it gets real easy once
you've play her at the beginning. -It is fun looking around
the dirty hell hole prison. -The Mansion.! -You are; -Clair
... is trying two look for her own brother; -somewhere in

Unbrella Corperation.. -You are trapped inside; -Shooting
zombies and putting stuff in metal detector boxes..! -But all
hell breaks loose in this game. -It's pure; -blood and

sacrifice. -I've think; -Steve; -the character. -... clair
meets up with in this game version. -He is a jerk. -He does
not know; -and; -the real danger that Clair is in. -She
knows that he is danger. -But why does he not care two help

her. -He just goes off..! -Finding his way out.! -I think
the Steve character shooed die. -She is better off killing
the creep. -But; -Steve is the main reason four helping her
later. -I wonder why. -"Resident Evil: -Code Veronica." -Is
really challenging. -I just watched a version of this game on
my friends. -Dreamcast; -Last year. -I thought the game look

very good.. -But; -the Playstation 2. -Version. -I don't
want a disapoint it. -It has better graphics then I imagine
since; -Dreamcast. -They tried their best..! -I don't
care what any one think's.! -I still had not beaten the
game yet; -or beaten the other games. -I played the first

game which I barrowed from a friend.. -It was easy; -at
the beginning. -But it came really difficult. -Why; -Campcon.
make such difficult games. -If you where in my shoes. -You

decide.. -But; -this is better then; -any; -Zombie
game; -or movie. -I've seen so far.. -I will play this again
that is if I've ever beaten this jargan.

I have the walkthrough.. -I had two admit; -I love the game
the music is so creepy; -some scenes; -made me jump. -The
acting is much anticipated then; -Dreamcast; -stardards.

but; -It needs more game levels two keep on going two
the mainstrain.. -I'm giving this; -A, -Four and a half
four star rating. -****4/half. -Stars. -Four good pure
action. -Intense; -Scripting. -Clair; -She is a dream.?

If you are a die-hard fan of the RE series you will love this game. If, however, like me, you don't regard Capcom's monster franchise as the be-all, end-all of action/adventure gaming, you may want to give Code: Veronica X a pass. Although the backgrounds are no longer prerendered, the player still has no control over the game camera, which is both puzzling and frustrating. Puzzling, because if the environments are generated in real-time 3-D, why can't the camera be user-controlled? Frustrating for the same reason as any other RE title-it's just plain too hard to see what's going on sometimes. In many rooms, the camera angle is facing the door through which the character enters, making anything outside of that view, including enemies, totally invisible. Often, the only clue to the presence of zombies is their moaning. How is one supposed to aim and fire at something one cannot see? Why should the player not be able to see anything the character can? Another issue continuing from the earlier RE games is the control. How archaic is the old "rotate-and-forward" control scheme? Don't even try to do this with the analog stick if you want any kind of precise movement. Thank heaven there are no jumping puzzles in these games. Combat is and has always been a hit-or-miss affair in Resident Evil games, and Code: Veronica X is no exception. Wasting bullets when there are few enough to be had in the first place is supremely infuriating, but often happens because the characters rotate so slowly with their weapons drawn. The silly "cinematic" camera angles may indeed be dramatic, but totally useless for any kind of exciting combat. Was it impossible for Capcom to include a control scheme that would move the character in the direction indicated by the controller?
The puzzles are actually OK in this installment, as they have at least some rudimentary logic within the game world. For example, there are no mysterious, iconic statues in the middle of a police station, but rather computerized security systems that need to have an ID number input to unlock a door. A metallic symbol must be reproduced in plastic to allow it to pass through a metal detector and then used to unlock a gate. These puzzles add to the realism, rather than detract from it like the sometimes silly ones in Resident Evil and RE 2.
The graphics are impressive, especially considering they are done in real-time. The game's art direction is just as clever and beautiful as any other Capcom survival horror game. The music, again, is more of the same, but it feels very familiar and does well to let you feel you are back in the RE world, which is OK. The over sound is good too; 3-D sound effects make locating those out-of-camera-view baddies a little easier. Unfortunately, these superficial qualities just don't do enough to overcome the sameness of the the experience, and don't do ANYTHING to overcome the flaws in gameplay. I think that RE games in general are becoming a little overrated and the series has overstayed its welcome. RE: Survivor was lambasted as being a horrible game, but at least you could see those zombies when you walked into a room full of them. By the way-the Devil May Cry demo is amazing. Almost worth the purchase of Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. But not quite.

Maybe I'm getting old...maybe games are getting too complex for me...may the lighting in the game is so low, I couldn't play it for five minutes at any time without getting killed because I couldn't see who was attacking me or where they were attacking me from. I've heard this game is great from a lot of people, but what's the fun if you can't see ANYTHING. (Yes, I did adjust the brightness level on my TV to the highest level...to no avail.)...

Hey, its Resident Evil isn't it???

Like that other reviewer said, this game is why I own a playstation 2. Yes, for this game. I just have to play it. It's Resident Evil, that means it has to be good.

Every game has been good so far, except for that first person shooter which must have taken five minutes to make. I forgive capcom for that. You know why? Because they are the makers of Resident Evil, the best game series ever.

This game will be great, and you know why? you guessed it. BECAUSE IT IS RESIDENT EVIL. THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO VIDEO GAMING EVER!!!...

This game is so stupidly and cheaply designed and developed, it was the most unentertainting experience I have ever had. The controlls are unusable, it frustrated the hell out of me. Just a horrible horrible game. Anyone who likes the games like devil may cry will hate this game, it is designed for those who don't know better.

Worst one yet

This has to be the worst game i've played in this series. Except for the movies, the game is played in such low lighting you won't be able to see anything. This makes it almost impossible to run from the zombies yet alone kill them. You will get a lighter to start, but it only lets you see yourself get killed. If you add the low lighting to the traditionaly sloppy controls of this series you have one very big step backwards.

THE BEST

I've played the original Code: Veronica for my dreamcast and I thought it was great. Honestly, I never really got too far, but I still love the game being a BIG FAN OF THE RESIDENT EVIL SERIES! I haven't even gotten my PS2 and I already pre-ordered it. Normally, I would wait for the game to come out, but I pre-ordered it JUST TO GET THE 5TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL: WESKER'S REPORT! I think the only reason that I haven't gotten to far on the DC version is because of the DC controller. It's RESIDENT EVIL and I'm so used to the PS controls. Altough the controls weren't to hard to memorize, I believe I'll get a lot farther with thee PS(2) controller. THIS GAME IS NOT, AND I REPEAT NOT, A WASTE OF MONEY. PRE-ORDER IT AND GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH. I HEAR YOU CAN'T GET WESKERS REPORT UNLESS YOU PRE-ORDER IT!

This looks like a great game to pre-order. Especially with the addition of the DVD Weskers Report. Can someone verify if pre-ordering through Amazon.com includes the Wesker DVD? Capcom.com says it explicitly. So does ebgames.com.
