RE: Code Veronica is outstanding

I just got RE: Code Veronica X, and I can say that it is a great game. It is by far the best RE game ever made and is worth the money, unless you have it for Dreamcast. If you don't have RE for Dreamcast, then this is a must have. If you have it for Dreamcast, than you can safely pass on this game. It is almost an exact copy of the Dreamcast game. The extras are not worth the purchase. Either way, I think everyone who buys the game will enjoy the best Resident Evil game ever.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica, is in my opinion one THE best games I have ever played, but RE:3 Nemesis does give this game a run for it money. The graphics are great, but the camera angles kind of give that affect of 'I can hear them, but I can't see them' scenario. When our heroin (Claire Redfield), escaped the doomed Raccoon City, she immeditely continued the search for her brother Chris Redfield, one of two surviving members of the RPD's famed S*T*A*R*S* team. When her search leads to the Umbrella HQ in Paris, France, she immediately infiltrates the building, only to get chased by guards and a Blackhawk helicopter armed with a gattling gun. She is finaaly captured, and sent to a small desolate island blocked off from all forms of human contact (except for the guards, scientists, prisoners, etc.) But when a military attack begins on the small island, a new breed of a T-Virus code-named: T Veronica, the virus immediately mutates its victims into flesh-eating zombies. Now it's time for Claire, to live or die.

Best RE by far with few problems...

First of all, the things that I look for in a game are story, difficulty, fun factor, and replay value. This game lives up in all aspects but one. If you said replay value then you guessed right.

The voice acting in Resident Evil is defenitely getting better. (The voices in the first one were enough to make even a screeching voice comforting to my ears) This time they have some good voices, but acting with those voices somewhat lacks a little.

The game has some pretty bad controls if you ask me. Espcecially if you played the first 3 on the PSX. Meaning, they take time to get used to. Also, in the beginning the game is actually difficult considering I actually had to use the knife in the beginning, but at least this time Its easier to battle with the knife than it was in the first three RE games.

The story is very complex, and its not the same old (well almost not the same old) stumble upon a secret lab (not many secrets left for Chris and Claire to discover) thing but its close to that, and its no cakewalk this time either. But like most games nowadays, the closer you are to the end of the game, the easier it gets and Resident Evil is no exception to this.

While the game is fun the first time, there is no replay value at all. After going through the game once, thats it! You may not want to go through it again. I actually happened to like the puzzles in this one however, as unlike the first three I actually had to use my brain for the first time and think, and even look at files.

Overall this is a good game but the replay is so bad and thats why I gave it four stars.

Magnificent RE!

I am shocked by how many people here are writing that this game is awful, difficult, boring, whatever.First of all, what makes a good game?Athmosphere and a challenge. It just wont feel interesting, if you have a bunch of unlimited ammo and immortality, right?Concerning the controls- there is nothing much different from the previous RE games. So if you are just lazy to get used to it,it doesn't mean the game is that bad and impossible to play for the others.
Now onto the game.Veronica is just simply great!A comeback of old good Chris and Wesker, plus the Redfield family reunification! The locations of the game (an island and later - Antarctica) gave me a reminder of the first Resident evil athmosphere, abandoned house, full of mistery (by the way, in Code:Veronica there is more than 1 mansion to explore, but unfortunately, they are not as big as the Spencer one). The new characters add a lot to the athmosphere, and a game gives some kind of a "fairy tale" feeling for me.Music is at the highest level ,as always in RE.
If you are a Resident evil fan, you defenitely have to play it, to find out more secrets about Umbrella and evil Wesker! And if you are a horror fan, there are enough of zombies and other creatures to keep you entertained;)

Best Resident Evil game ever!!!

This game rocks! Think about it! Claire meets a 17 year old kid named Steve Burnside! Claire rocks! Well you see, the reason why I rated this game a 4 star is because, it is kind of fun when you start getting ammo and other stuff. When I first got the game I didn't have any ammo when I got to the Cargo Plane. It totally sucked, but remember this, you HAVE TO run past the zombies you can, and shoot the ones you can't get past.
I love this game now, but I am at the part where Chris has to save Claire and then kill Alexia the 2nd form...I am glad that I bought thiis game instead of Code Veronica. Code veronica X has 10 more minutes of cutscenes. Plus a Albert Wesker verses Chris Redfield battle at the end.....THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!

i think this is the best resident evil game ever. eventhough i had never played resident evil before i really enjoyed and had a lot of fun with this one, most people say it has jerky controls however once you catch up with it it wont matter how awkward the controls are if you like those kind of games where you have to think a lot and have fun at the same time i strongly recommend you to get this game as soon as possible trust me its worth the effort!!

A worthy Game in the series.

Since I haven't been able to play the remakes and newer Resident Evil Games on the Gamecube, I consider this my favorite. I played it on Dreamcast and would have to say the PS2 version is the better of the two. It added more cutscenes to explain the story, which I felt was good as it helped me understand what was happening. Graphics aren't too bad, and the voices were pretty decent for the characters.
The game isn't without flaws though, as I will list a few.
1. Controls can be akward to use. It took me time to get used to controls, that, and sometimes moving can get cumbersome.
2. Camera angles can be hard. It can be annoying when you try to move and get attacked because you can't see what lays around the corner.
3. Some puzzles and parts of the game may seem easy or difficult to some people. I found myself easily getting through somethings, and having to retry on others.

Despite its flaws, this game is a good one. If your a fan of the series, it's a must have. If not, then at least try it out. If you can get past the flaws, then you have a good game on your hands.

This is a great game. It's fun, scary, and challenging. I think the controls are great and the puzzles are intriguing. I can't wait to get a Gamecube and play Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil, but I'm not getting the gamecube version of this because its exactly the same as the PS2 version.

Awesome game.. BUT Solid graphics

This game is ok and scary n all but the graphic is sometimes too solid and not that realistic.. i prefer Silent hill 2 and 3 coz i think the game is more better then this. BUT this game earned a 4.8 starz for the storyline and the + (DMC)demo..

Bof ...

Good story but the worst game controls interface. As said by many reviewers (i.e. gameshark.com), the character controls are so painful to a modern gamer that during a battle scene, you'll throw your gamepad on the floor.
