I think this game was the best game i have ever played. it was far better then the one for sega, and the graphics were awasome.
also the extra cut scens that were added were excellent. I highlly reccomend this game to anyone who likes blood, gore, challenge and suspense!

when u write a review for a game, there's a 1000 word maximum...sorry, but a thousand words just doesn't fully describe how fantastic this game really is, and the only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because i wanted to see Claire Redfield in a thong!.....but hey, other than that, the game ROCKS!...i've been an RE fan ever since the first one came out for the first playstation....and been hooked on it ever since, i even saw the movie....which in fact i was extremely skeptical about....but the movie turned out EXCELLENT, a very well done motion picture....leaving you hanging at the thought of a sequal..."resident evil: project nemesis"...that's what i see them calling it.....the added cut scenes and enhanced graphics they made specifically for the PS2 is astonishing, making you get sucked into a deep dark world since minute one all the way to the finale, awesome weapons with great game-play and convincing storyline...what more can you ask for?...the game should've been a little longer though i might add, RESIDENT EVIL:CODENAME VERONICA X is most definitely....without a doubt in my mind....the KING of ALL 3rd person action/adventure/ survival horror games to ever walk the face of the Earth, if the gameplay, storyline and creatures from the dead don't scare you away from this game....then i know at least the SOUNDTRACK will, guaranteed, and for a game that is now 29.99 brand spankin new, it's totally worth it, and even if it wasn't, then it would still be worth every penny u spend, and i can't wait until the NEXT one, if there IS one....i have a feeling it'll be on the next PS3....and since they'd be enhancing the already strong 128bit system to 256bit...i'm strongly assuming the next RESIDENT EVIL will more than likely be a CGI based interactive cinematic type of platform.....u could say...almost VIRTUAL REALITY, cept without all the dark shaded glasses that looks like it just got beemed down from Star Trek Voyager....but, this game is definitely one for the library!...don't miss it!

The Hardest Resident Evil but not the Best.

Pros:

1. Incredibly intense and difficult.

2. Great graphics and intelligent creatures.

3. A whole lot of gameplay. Takes about 10 hours to I beat unlike the rest that took around 2.

4. An awesome arsenal of weapons that each have different effects on creatures.

Cons:

1. It's really hard to maneuver with your character. Once a creature gets near you there's no chance.

2. Very limited supplies when it comes to ammo and herbs. Without a lot of herbs you're as good as dead towards the end of the game.

3. It is impossible to outrun one of the bosses at the end even when that's what you're supposed to do. He kills you in 2 hits.

Bottom line- If you love Resident Evil get this game. If you don't then get Devil May Cry.

This Is The Best Game Ever

This Game, In My Personal Opinion, Is The Best Game Ever. Not Only Is It Scary, But It Is a great romance story as well. Trust Me This game will havee you on the edge of your seat. The Only thing that really ticked me off about this game was.....steve. I think he was a hottie (yes i am a girl) plus claire and him would make a good couple, personally i [don't think it] was a good idea to kill steve.

frustrating

I have been a Resident Evil fan for quite some time so when I bought my PS2 this is one of the very first games that I bought.
I am very dissapointed, graphics are O.K and the voice- over's don't bother me at all what bothers me is that you are constantly running out of ammo, health and patience, the game is too hard to beat, I have tried many times without any success and I am still stuck in the airplane trying to kill the big zombie dude which by the way is impossible, he never dies. This is the third time that I have started the game all over to see if I could save some more ammo and health. My recommendation is to rent the game first and see if you can handle it, and don't espect it to be like the old resident evil games.

The Truth about Resident Evil Code Veronica X...

Hey there, lemme tell ya about a little game I played for the Sega Dreamcast way back in the day. It was called RE Code Veronica and it was the next installment, that Capcom gave us, dealing with RE and it's HUGE following. The game pulled off ok in alot of respects because of the obvious graphics and sound improvements. However, for me it just didn't seem to have the same pull that RE 2 or RE 3 did.

Now we look at RE Code Veronia X for the PSX 2, once again Capcom seemed to have an idea of what they wanted us to experience. Graphics and sound aside, which of course were nice, the game didn't seem to have alot of that extra UMPF! that the other games have had.

Don't get me wrong... I liked the game but the reason I have given it a lower rating overall from RE 2 and RE 3 is because I just couldn't pull myself into the original RE CV or the rereleased RE CV X games. I'm thinking maybe it was the fact that by this time I was getting kind of tired of dealing with zombies... like Silent Hill eventually loosing it's steam with "Disturbing" images. I was feeling all zombied-out... they just were not scary anymore... but thats for my Resident Evil 4 review.

In closing I'd suggest getting this game over the original RE Code Veronica for Dreamcast anyday. As for getting this game because you are looking for something "Scary" or heartpounding to play... maybe try RE 2 or Silent Hill 2. One last thing, as I have said with Resident Evil 2 and 3 I will not and would not pick those or this title up for the Gamecube, they are nothing more than just a port... not a remake as they should have been.

ugh...

well, i loved RE2 and RE3 and i assumed this one would be just as good. Boy was i wrong. This is one of the worst games i have ever played. The graphics are improved, but the plot is just absolute excrement and the characters bite. the weapons are awful too and the controls seem much more difficult to manipulate. don't waste your time or your money

This Game WILL Rock!

If you are looking for a good shootem up game that has a great storyline with it, don't buy this game. The best part of the game was the demo of Devil May Cry which is unbelievable. Resident Evil however is horrible grafics for playstation 2 and worse controls. In the time it takes to open a door you could run to your firdge and back and still wait and you go through lots of doors. If you are looking into this game for the holidays I would Seriously suggest get Devil May Cry instead because it doesn't have the hard controls and it has amazing graffics

RESIDENT EVIL AT IT'S BEST !!!

MOST PEOPLE GAVE MIXED REVIEWS ABOUT '' RESIDENT EVIL - NEMESIS '' .. BUT I FOUND IT TO BE LOTS OF FUN AND PLAYED THROUGH IT NUMEROUS TIMES .. AND '' CODE VERONICA '' FOLLOWS CLOSE ON THE HEELS OF NEMESIS .. THE PLOT IS VERY GOOD, AS WELL AS THE GRAPHICS . AND THE MONSTERS ARE GREAT !! I GOT THIS GAME AS SOON AS I GOT THE PS 2 !
MY ADVICE IS TO USE YOUR GUN ON ZOMBIES FROM A DISTANCE , AND SHOTGUN AT CLOSE RANGE WHEN OUTNUMBERED .BUT AIM UP -AND IT BLOWS THEIR HEADS OFF . SO IT ONLY WASTES ONE SHOTGUN SHELL.USE GRENADE ROUNDS ON THE HUNTERS . IT ONLY TAKES TWO TO FINISH THEM OFF . AND USE YOUR LIGHTER FOR POORLY LIT AREAS- THAT WAY YOU DON'T GET ATTACKED BY SURPRISE .DEFINATELY PICK THIS ONE UP !!AND PLAY IT WITH ALL THE LIGHTS OFF !YOU'LL WANT TO KEEP PLAYING IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN .... ONE OF THE BEST PS 2 GAMES OUT THERE !!
