Great Game

Having Beta tested Jumpgate now for nearly two years I must say it still has my attention. Again, this is a great game along with a great team of developers. This,IMHO, is the best online space sim I have come across.

Either get your friends to buy the game or say bye bye to em

Best game ever... most adictive game ever... nope these words are not enough to describe JumpGate... the worst days of my life have been these few days since beta/preview shut down and until I get the game... I have to hang out with my friends... But it doesnt give me anything only thing I can think of is Jumpgate...

Really this game is the most ultimate gaming experience there is today... But think twice before you buy it... If you have a job you might loose it... If you have a girlfriend you WILL loose her... If you have kids then stay away from the game...

This kicks .... It has alot of cool things to do plus you can suggest new things and if others like it too then it may be added to it. It never stays the same. You get to fly and shoot Octs,Quans, and Conflux. Here is a tip never fire on a Solrain or you will die at that moment. You get to trade, mine, fight, or explore.

This Game has all of the aspects you ever wanted in a Persistant Universe Game.

The game Plot is well developed and the Support is Outstanding.

Understanding the game is simple and the People that play the game are more than Happy to help anyone new to the game and take them under their Wing so to speak.

NetDevil and 3DO have got a winner here and this game is Outstanding.

I look forward to seeing a great many people playing this game in the future.

Take Care and Toodles.

The only problem I find with this game is the number of times the game disconnects you from the server. Other than that the game is great!

No Joy - space truck driver game

Save your money and time. 3DO doesn't have the technical resources to do multi player gaming. The game constantly disconnects. When it doesn't disconnect the online screen is jumpy. The game itself has a weak attempt at an game economy; where players are space truck drivers on hauling missions. Long, boring, endless hauling missions. There is a chat window. Player's exchange low brow humor, or mindless dribble. All this for a mere $10/mth subscription fee.

Being a Beta Tester for the last 6 months for this game, i can tell you its definitely worth buying. If i had cooler parents, i would buy it :( ... The graphics are easily run on my machine, which doesn't have any graphics card to boast about, but that doesn't mean they're not great. The gameplay itself is just awesome. Taking out your first squid, winning a player-v-player fight, flipping a beacon, all give you a thrill. 'What if i get the game too late?' No worries, the bounty system assures that no high level player will come and blast you away for no reason. I should warn you of one thing, however. This game is MASSIVELY addicting. You'll soon be calling in sick to work, skipping meals, cancelling dates in order to play more. In 2 words: BUY IT

LEVEL SYNOPSIS:

Level 1 through 7: GRADE SCHOOL (learning new things)
Levels 7 through 20: HIGH SCHOOL (applying what you learned)
Levels 20 and up: LIKE GOING FROM HIGH SCHOOL TO UNIVERSITY (you'll have to find out for yourself!)

This game is about having FUN IN SPACE. Enjoy. :)

well the main problem in jumpgate is the lack of reason to play, you play diablo, you want to kill diablo, you play starcraft or allegiance, you want to kill your ennemies, you play a race game, you wants to win, but then you play jumpgate, at frist, yu see the mission computer and wants to suceed the missions, since it's persistant, you feel like doing something helpfull, but after some hours, you notice that beside raising a % slowy it does no good, when it reach 100%, a new base appear, big deal... the missions are easy... well more than easy, most are just travelling somewhere, do something, then come back, 95 of the time you won't meet any opposition. the graffics aren't bad, the stations are amazing and they are a must see, but i wouldn't pay $40 to see a space station in a game that i won't play anymore. the combats arealmost inexsistant(unless you go in the simulator). there is no reason to fight, no reason to do the boring missions. the 3 factions are allied with each other. the only reason buying the game would worth it, it would be to be a part of the community, and maybe have some good chat(since chatting is funnier than playing).

This game is frustrating because when you purchase it it seems like a good buy but the actual truth is that you can only play it multiplayer online and, when you decide to get online to play, first you have to pay a registration fee and then a monthly usage fee and not to mention for the time on the internet through your local internet provider. Overall it is a bad program design UNLESS you are willing to pay all the fees.
